“Then what am I supposed to do next?” Tony Stark asked.

“Go back to the main plane and act as you normally would. This is where your acting skills are put to the test. If you’re found out, all the trouble that follows will be your responsibility. At worst, we’ll simply withdraw entirely from your plane,” Wang Jing said carelessly.

“That’s unbelievably irresponsible of you!”

“There’s nothing we can do about it. We can’t possibly make the entire world our enemy. Besides, this mess was all created by you people. We’re only trying to pull you out of the mire. If you can’t keep yourselves together, who else is there to blame?” Wang Jing said with a shrug.

Tony Stark was left speechless by those words.

“Fine. You’ve got the better argument. I’ll do what I should,” Tony Stark said helplessly.

“Don’t be too pessimistic. Unless it’s absolutely necessary, we won’t easily give up on the plane where you’re staying,” Wang Jing comforted him.

At Wang Jing’s words, Tony Stark only nodded silently, as though lost in thought.

Wang Jing patted Tony Stark on the shoulder. “Come on, pull yourself together. I’ll send you back.”

Back in the Marvel universe, Wang Jing saw Li Yiyi and the others he had not seen for some time, tidying up the somewhat messy living room.

“Boss, you’re back!” Li Yiyi cried happily when he saw Wang Jing appear.

“Where have you all been? Why haven’t I seen any of you?” Wang Jing asked.

“We’d been staying in the inner room. Then Stark suddenly barged in with a bunch of women and said he’d booked the whole hotel, even told us to join the party with him. To protect the equipment, we had no choice but to move everything into the inner room and wait for you to come back,” Li Yiyi explained. Liu Peiqiang and the others beside him nodded as well, confirming his words.

Wang Jing turned to look at Tony Stark, who was now clearly embarrassed and about to slip away. “You really are rich, aren’t you? Buying out an entire hotel that fast,” Wang Jing teased.

“Ha ha, it’s not quite that exaggerated. Stark Industries just happens to be the hotel’s largest shareholder, so getting into a room was easy enough,” Tony Stark said with an awkward laugh.

Wang Jing rolled his eyes and said, “Don’t forget what I told you.”

“Relax, I won’t forget. As compensation for earlier, you can stay here as long as you like. I’ll cover all the expenses,” Tony Stark said generously.

Li Yiyi, standing nearby, grew excited at once. Just thinking about the many dishes on the menu made his mouth flood with saliva.

After speaking, Tony Stark tossed a flirtatious wink at Aida Wang and Alice, then strode away.

After Tony Stark left, Li Yiyi could not wait to blurt out, “Boss, I want a giant lobster!”

“Eat, eat, eat. All you ever think about is eating. Hurry up and pack. We’re moving out,” Wang Jing said irritably, smacking Li Yiyi on the back of the head.

“Why are we moving all of a sudden?” Li Yiyi asked, rubbing the back of his head in grievance.

“It’s not safe here anymore. If S.H.I.E.L.D. finds us, we’ll be in trouble,” Wang Jing explained.

Li Yiyi nodded and immediately began packing. As for the lobster, he could eat it later. Finishing the mission was what mattered most right now.

With everyone’s help, the packing was done quickly. After sending the belongings and the others back to the main plane, Wang Jing left the room alone and headed toward Bumblebee, which was parked in the underground garage.

In the hotel’s underground parking lot, a black eyepatch-clad figure was perfectly hidden in the darkness, so well concealed that even Bumblebee had not detected him.

Just as Wang Jing reached Bumblebee and was about to open the door, he heard steady footsteps behind him. He turned around, and in the light of the basement lamps, he saw Nick Fury standing not far away.

The two held each other’s gaze for two or three seconds. In the end, Wang Jing was the first to speak.

“Hello, Director Fury.”

“So you really do know us. Who are you, exactly?” Nick Fury asked, his remaining eye fixed intently on Wang Jing.

“You’ll know someday, but not now,” Wang Jing replied calmly.

“And if I insist that you answer me right now?”

“You don’t have that kind of power, Fury. And there’s no hostility between you and me. The real enemy has not even appeared yet,” Wang Jing said with pointed emphasis.

“What do you mean by that?” Nick Fury asked, his brows furrowing deeply.

“You’ll understand when the time comes. For now, it wouldn’t be convenient to tell you,” Wang Jing said, pointing at Nick Fury with deliberate emphasis.

With that, he ignored Nick Fury’s reaction and sat directly in the car. The engine started at once, and the powerful roar reverberated through the entire underground garage.

Nick Fury simply watched in silence and did not move to stop him.

As Bumblebee passed Nick Fury, it revved the engine provocatively a few times and spewed out a plume of black smoke, forcing Fury to step back in a hurry, his face turning even uglier.

“The target is exiting. Prepare to intercept,” Nick Fury said, pressing the radio in his ear.

At the exit of the underground parking lot, Wang Jing saw soldiers standing guard with weapons in hand, along with roadblocks already set in place.

“Bumblebee, can you break through?” Wang Jing asked casually, as if asking whether he had eaten.

“No problem!” Bumblebee replied confidently.

Bumblebee backed up a short distance, then the engine’s roar rose again within the basement. Anyone who heard it could not help worrying that the car’s engine might blow out.

Outside the exit, the soldiers who had heard the same sound all raised their weapons and aimed them at the dark mouth of the underground garage.

Bumblebee suddenly released the brakes and charged straight toward the underground exit. The narrow, straight passage gave it excellent acceleration, and the steep thirty-degree incline was almost like the ski-jump deck of an aircraft carrier.

Seeing Bumblebee burst out so quickly, someone outside shouted, “Fire!” At once, a hail of bullets from dozens of automatic rifles poured down on Bumblebee.

But these bullets posed no threat at all to Bumblebee’s reinforced armor. They did not even shatter the glass.

Just as it was about to burst out of the underground exit, Bumblebee braced hard against the ground with its tires, then leaped cleanly over the roadblocks at the exit.

Under the dumbfounded stares of the soldiers, Bumblebee landed smoothly in a perfect drift, then sped away amid the shriek of tires screaming against the pavement.

“Sir, the target got away!” a soldier said into the radio in disbelief.

After receiving the report, Nick Fury cursed under his breath and asked, “Can Hill lock onto his position?”

“Affirmative, Director. The target is fleeing toward Bruck Street!” Hill replied.

“Helicopters, stay on him. Reserve units, seal off the streets and block him. Don’t let him run again!”

Seeing the helicopter overhead, Wang Jing remained completely unruffled. He found a bridge underpass and drove into it, then used the crossing ability inside.

By the time large numbers of troops had sealed off both ends of the underpass, Nick Fury finally arrived. But when they entered to inspect it, they found nothing at all.
