“Are you really planning to blow this place up?” As Li Yi busied himself with downloading data, Alice approached Wang Jing and asked.

“Of course not. That was just a ploy to buy us time. A base this enormous can’t possibly have only one exit. As long as Essex tries to escape, I’ll find him!” Wang Jing replied confidently.

Meanwhile, Essex, his face twisted with rage, was striding toward the emergency escape aircraft. He had believed that, after the apocalypse, no organized military would appear, and with the original Hive reduced to ashes by nuclear strikes, suspicion would never fall here.

So Essex had only lightly armed himself, relying mainly on his bio-weapons for defense.

But unexpectedly, a wild card had appeared—someone with a cheat device, who had managed to destroy his stronghold.

Boarding the emergency escape plane, Essex set the destination for Tokyo, Japan. He muttered bitterly, “Just wait. I’ll be back.” With that, he slammed the launch button.

Moments later, an Osprey tiltrotor rose vertically, shooting through the vast crater left by the nuclear explosion below. Essex forced himself to remember this humiliation.

As the aircraft climbed to its designated altitude and shifted to level flight, Essex finally pulled from his pocket a vial encased in metal.

“Hmph. Without the serum, the apocalypse will only continue. Just wait, Alice!” Essex sneered as he gazed at the T-virus serum in his hand.

But in the next instant, the missile-lock alarm blared to life. “Damn!” was all Essex managed to curse before a tremendous explosion rocked the craft, followed by violent shaking, alarms for engine failure and loss of control, all signaling to Essex that he had been shot down.

Before he could attempt an emergency landing, another missile struck, this time sending sparks through the cockpit. Unluckily, Essex was struck in the head by a fragment.

Thus, less than a minute after takeoff, the Osprey, engulfed in flames, crashed at an angle and exploded in a massive fireball.

Inside, two American special forces soldiers from the main world lowered their still-smoking Stinger missile launchers. Addressing Alice and the other special forces from various nations, they said, “Hurry! In a bit, the virus serum will be roasted!”

Driving a heavily deformed off-road vehicle, a squad and three Alice clones arrived at the crash site.

As soon as the vehicle stopped, the three Alice clones used their telepathic abilities to extinguish the flames still raging.

Soon, a Chinese soldier from the Wandering Earth world found the intact T-virus serum within Essex’s charred corpse.

Two hours later, all data from the Hive had been copied. Once the large storage server was returned to the main world, Wang Jing began swiftly transporting supplies and personnel to the Resident Evil world.

A makeshift military base was quickly established, followed by a comprehensive inspection of the Hive. All those found in cryogenic sleep pods were awakened and imprisoned.

Among them, they found Alice’s original, Alicia Marcus. Upon seeing Alice, Alicia, just as in the film, transferred her memories to her.

Meanwhile, the technical team and Li Yi dismantled the Red Queen’s mainframe and replaced it with the modified White Queen.

After the Hive was thoroughly secured, biologists, geneticists, and other scientists from the main world and the Wandering Earth world gathered at the Hive in the Resident Evil world. They began analyzing the T-virus serum, searching for ways to replicate it so it could be distributed worldwide as quickly as possible.

At the same time, the interworld expeditionary force amassed large teams and launched attacks on Hive bases across the globe.

Despite careful planning, casualties were heavy. Some Hive bases, upon realizing they were about to be breached, triggered self-destruct, leaving the assault teams no time to escape, resulting in total loss.

After this happened twice, the expeditionary force ceased sending troops for direct assaults, opting instead to obliterate the entire Hive bases with nuclear strikes.

Though this meant losing much scientific equipment and unique experimental data, it paled in comparison to the lives of countless soldiers.

Two months later, the method for replicating the T-virus serum was successfully developed. To swiftly end the biological crisis, the expeditionary force spread the serum across the world.

Then, the United Government of the main world and the United Government of the Wandering Earth world jointly established a provisional government in the Resident Evil world, tasked with receiving and managing the scant survivors left on Earth.

With plants needing time to grow again, food in the Resident Evil world would have to be supplied by the main world for a long period.

But this brought a new problem: the main world’s food supply was beginning to run short.

After work, as usual, Wang Jing trained with Li Xian in various combat and shooting techniques. But upon stepping out of the base, a wave of heat struck him, as if he were standing beside a blazing furnace.

He instinctively withdrew his foot. “It’s unbearably hot out here!”

“The forecast says today’s high is forty-two degrees,” Li Xian remarked, watching the relentless afternoon sun.

“Forty-two degrees? But yesterday the high was only thirty-six!” Wang Jing exclaimed in surprise.

“Sigh! Experts say the nationwide warming is to blame. Natural disasters have grown worse these past years. I heard temperatures in the Middle East have reached seventy or eighty degrees. We’re lucky here,” Li Xian said with a sigh.

“Seventy or eighty degrees? Wouldn’t people be roasted alive?” Wang Jing was amazed.

“Nearly. Someone online fried an egg with a frying pan on the asphalt, and it cooked in less than five minutes!”

Wang Jing nodded, then cautiously asked, “With the heat out there, does this mean we don’t have to train outside?”

Li Xian smiled. “You’re overthinking it. This weather is perfect for building your resilience. It’ll help with your combat training later!”

Knowing escape was impossible, Wang Jing could only grit his teeth and endure two hours of strenuous training with Li Xian.

The next day at noon, while eating lunch, Wang Jing was drawn to the news playing on the wall.

News anchor: “According to our latest report, an extreme weather event struck Colorado two hours ago. Many homes were flooded, the entire city submerged, and water levels reached up to two meters in some places. Let’s now view footage from our reporters on site.”

Watching the images of water towering above people’s heads, the helicopters rescuing stranded residents, Wang Jing was suddenly reminded of the disaster film Geostorm he had seen in his previous life. If only he had access to the weather-controlling satellites from that movie.

Yet the worlds he traversed were always random, and who could say when he might enter the Geostorm dimension.
