Chapter 151: The Financially Powerful CELL
Following discussions, the United Government ultimately approved Wang Jing's combat plan. The Dimensional Expeditionary Force would join forces with Prophet to combat CELL's mercenaries and the Ceph mastermind.
Thus, the massive war machine was set into motion. Electromagnetic tanks, which had been utilized and upgraded on the planet Pandora, stood neatly lined up in the military camp adjacent to the base.
A vast number of Transformer fighters and gunships were parked along the two-kilometer-long runway.
Twenty thousand fully armed soldiers stood in orderly formations across the expansive container terminal. Every soldier was heavily laden with weaponry, particularly the electromagnetic rifles cradled in their arms.
The thick barrels instantly betrayed their formidable firepower, while the clean-cut, angular frames and the black powered armor encasing the soldiers exuded both exquisite craftsmanship and the grim solemnity born for slaughter.
The twenty thousand Dimensional Expeditionary Force soldiers arrayed in formation presented an aura of irresistible might.
At the vanguard of the army stood ten cutting-edge mechs. Due to production constraints, only ten were currently available, but these ten were more than sufficient. Their rugged yet high-tech exterior, combined with the terrifying arsenal carried in their hands and mounted on their backs, alongside their towering frames of over four meters in height, provided ample deterrence against any enemy.
High above, a black mech, completely distinct from the other ten, streaked rapidly over the formation before landing heavily on the ground.
A heavily muscled figure, entirely enveloped in a nanosuit, leaped down from the back of the mech. The only difference was that Prophet—who previously carried only a bow and arrow—had now been conquered by the United Government's firepower-supremacy doctrine. He wielded an electromagnetic rifle, with a 50mm electromagnetic grenade launcher slung across his back.
The mech ridden by Prophet was entirely different from the ten at the front of the formation. Mounted on its back was an exaggeratedly large 12-barreled electromagnetic heavy machine gun, its massive waist-mounted drum magazine bearing testament to overwhelming firepower.
Laser weapons and small missile nests were fitted to both shoulders. Honeycomb-like arrays of compact missile launchers made it impossible for anyone to underestimate its threat potential.
Conversely, the laser emitter on the other side appeared utterly mundane, easily mistaken for an oversized security camera.
Inside his mech, Wang Jing controlled the unit to lift the 12-barreled electromagnetic heavy machine gun from its back, raising it high above his head as he shouted, "Everyone prepare for transit! Another world is waiting for us to save it!"
Wang Jing's voice was transmitted via wireless to every soldier. Then, moving with the practiced precision of a thousand drills, every soldier reached out to place a hand on the shoulder of the comrade in front of them.
Wang Jing likewise caused his mech to rest its hand upon the shoulder of the frontline mech. Immediately, a blinding flash of electric current struck Wang Jing's elevated electromagnetic heavy machine gun with an awe-inspiring majesty that made the scalp tingle.
The next moment, Wang Jing and the Dimensional Expeditionary Force were teleported to an open area within the Crysis dimension.
The Dimensional Expeditionary Force quickly advanced alongside Prophet toward the distant location emitting energy beams, while Wang Jing returned to the prime dimension to transport various heavy weapons over in support of the expeditionary force's operations.
Eager to reach CELL's headquarters in Washington as quickly as possible, Wang Jing stepped out of his mech and utilized the flight capabilities of his personal combat suit to streak toward Washington.
Accompanying him were the members of the dimensional squad. Naturally, to minimize their signature, they remained in the prime dimension, waiting for Wang Jing to reach Washington before bringing them across.
Traveling at three times the speed of sound, Wang Jing arrived in Washington in no time.
From afar, Wang Jing spotted CELL's towering headquarters, standing head and shoulders above the surrounding skyscrapers, crowned by the glaringly bright CELL logo.
Seeing this, Wang Jing returned to the prime dimension, donned his mech, and brought the dimensional squad across.
"Li Yiyi, locate the architectural blueprints for that building. We're going to blow it up today!" Wang Jing instructed.
"Understood, Boss!"
With the cooperation of Li Yiyi and MOOS, CELL's mainframe was swiftly breached, and the desired blueprints were retrieved.
"Boss, I've got the blueprints, but bringing it down with explosives will be extremely difficult, and there's a high probability of collateral damage to innocent civilians nearby!" Li Yiyi said with concern.
"Is there any workaround? We can't have made this trip for nothing," Wang Jing asked, looking at Li Yiyi.
"Well, it wouldn't entirely be for nothing. A vast amount of data within the building's database has been separately sealed off. That definitely contains the manufacturing technology for the nanosuits and other crucial intelligence."
"Which floor is the database on? We're charging straight in!"
"The database is located on the fifth underground level." Li Yiyi transmitted the building's blueprints to all squad members, highlighting the location of the database in glowing red.
After reviewing the blueprints, Wang Jing realized the mechs could not fit inside. Consequently, he told the others, "Liu Peiqiang, you pilot the mech and hold the exterior. The rest of us will storm in to seize the data."
"Understood!" After swapping mechs in mid-air, the two flew toward the CELL building.
It hadn't seemed like much from a distance, but only upon close approach did one truly appreciate CELL's boundless wealth.
Situated in the heart of Washington, the CELL building was surrounded by a five-kilometer radius of private land.
Expansive open grounds were dedicated entirely to landscaped greenery and ornamental trees, the real estate value of which alone ran into the tens of billions of dollars.
Yet this actually facilitated Wang Jing and his team's operation. Such an open expanse constituted an ideal terrain—easy to defend and difficult to attack—at least for someone possessing the overwhelming firepower of Liu Peiqiang.
Scattered CELL personnel below heard the roar from above and looked up curiously, only for a four-meter-tall mech and several figures to plummet from the sky the next second.
The mech slammed heavily onto the smooth concrete pavement, kicking up a flurry of dust and pulverized stone. Meanwhile, the other five figures maintained their momentum, crashing straight through the glass doors of the lobby. Several micro-missiles flew out, blasting a massive hole through the closed elevator doors and exposing the pitch-black elevator shaft within.
Only upon entering the elevator shaft did Wang Jing command his suit to decelerate slightly, tilting downward to accelerate toward the subterranean database.
The primary reason for such a high-speed entry was the fear that CELL's upper management might react in time to purge all data from the database.
It was only when Wang Jing smashed through the reinforced doors of the fifth underground elevator shaft that the intrusion alarms belatedly began to wail.
Upon entering the database server room, Wang Jing instantly deployed the wrist blades on his right arm, severing power lines and data cables as thick as a human arm.
Amidst a cascade of bursting electrical sparks, the blinking signal lights across the massive rows of server racks suddenly died, and the cooling fans in the server room slowly ground to a halt.
