Chapter 131: Weapon Support
"I just returned to my planet. As I said before, I am not one of those miners; in fact, we are not even from the same world."
"What does that mean?" Mo'at clearly did not grasp the implication of Wang Jing's words.
"Simply put, we come from another world, and we are capable of traveling to many different worlds. If you are willing, I can take you to see them. After all, it would facilitate our cooperation."
"You are not from this world?" Mo'at opened her mouth in surprise, as did the few Na'vi who understood English, their mouths agape in disbelief.
"That's right. Actually, she is also from another world. In her own, she is a sorcerer who has lived for three hundred years, which is quite similar in nature to your tsahìk."
Ancient One, who had remained silent since arriving in the Avatar world, spoke for the first time. "Greetings, Mo'at. My name is Ancient One. As he said, I do indeed come from another world, and they truly are capable of traveling to many different ones."
"And your world is one they have only just discovered."
Although, in Mo'at's eyes, Ancient One’s words seemed a bit self-serving, the sight of Wang Jing suddenly disappearing and reappearing with several firearms forced her to believe what they were saying.
"It seems there was a reason Eywa chose you," Mo'at remarked with a sigh. She turned to Neytiri beside her and said, "Neytiri, you will be responsible for teaching them our language and helping them understand our ways. Since we seek fairness, mutual language learning is the bare minimum of respect."
"I agree completely," Wang Jing said in the Na'vi language, which surprised Mo'at once again.
After establishing a good relationship with the Na'vi, Wang Jing brought over diplomats and scientists from the main plane and set up cross-dimensional communication devices in the Avatar world. When the Na'vi saw the towering Autobots, they were filled with astonishment, which further confirmed the feasibility of Wang Jing's previous claims.
"What is your world like?" Mo'at asked Wang Jing atop a cliff where mountain banshees nested.
"It is completely different from here. In my world, people live in places called cities, in houses built of steel and concrete. It is actually quite similar to the human Earth in this world, though with a much smaller population. As long as people are willing to work hard, they can live very comfortable lives."
"Is it better than the clan?" Mo'at asked curiously.
"That depends on one's personal preference. If you enjoy being close to nature, this place is certainly better. But if you prefer convenience, living in a city is best. If you wish, drones can deliver your three daily meals right to your doorstep."
After two days of interaction, Wang Jing and Neytiri had grown closer, though because of his stature and the fact that Wang Jing stayed inside his tactical armor at all times, he had not yet developed a relationship beyond friendship with Neytiri, unlike the human defector Jake in the movie.
Under Wang Jing’s vivid descriptions, Neytiri became very curious about both the main plane and the Wandering Earth plane. However, because the breathing masks for the Na'vi were not yet perfected, she could only listen to his summaries and view the photos and videos he had taken, which only made her more curious about other worlds.
Just as Wang Jing was telling Neytiri about his experiences in the Resident Evil plane, Song Guohua sent word: "The new batch of supplies is ready; transport can begin!"
"Understood, I'll be right back!" After ending the call, Wang Jing turned to Neytiri and said, "The new batch of supplies is ready, I must return!" With that, he rose into the air and flew off.
The supplies Song Guohua mentioned included practical daily tools like scissors, paper, pens, towels, simultaneous interpretation headsets designed specifically for the Na'vi, and a new batch of rushed-to-production recurve bows. The United Government had originally intended to provide the Na'vi with gunpowder weapons like the M134 Minigun, but after the Na'vi leaders and warriors tested them, they unanimously declared that bows and arrows were their true love. They had never encountered firearms before and were highly uncomfortable with the deafening noise, not to mention their accuracy was abysmal—hitting a target was entirely a matter of luck.
Helpless, the United Government had to change its weapon support plan, replacing the Miniguns with composite mechanical recurve bows suitable for the Na'vi. Do not underestimate these bows; because they were scaled up for the Na'vi and utilized advanced material engineering, their power was in no way inferior to traditional sniper rifles. Of course, to increase their lethality, some arrowheads were converted into explosive tips, each with the power of a 50mm grenade.
Returning to the newly established United Government embassy near the clan, Wang Jing delivered all the supplies from the main plane in one go, leaving the rest to the embassy staff.
While things were developing rapidly on Wang Jing’s side, Ada Wong, inside Hell's Gate, had just rejected a soldier who had come to confess his feelings. There was no helping it; on a planet four light-years from Earth, most people had been stationed there for years. Few women were sent here to begin with, and most were researchers, like Dr. Grace. Seeing a beautiful woman in a military uniform naturally stirred the restless hearts of these soldiers.
Unfortunately, Ada Wong was not here to engage in romance with hormone-fueled soldiers. Her uniform had been taken from an unlucky straggler. Because they were on an alien planet, no one doubted her identity, as all humans here arrived via interstellar transport ships. Thus, Ada Wong swaggered through the entire Hell's Gate military base, transmitting its troop deployments and mineral storage locations to the temporary base on the floating islands.
Having fully grasped the base's layout, Ada Wong set her sights on the Avatar laboratory. She blended in with a group of research staff transporting supplies and entered the lab, where she saw the consciousness controllers and the Avatars suspended in cylindrical nutrient tanks. Looking at the Avatars floating in the tanks could not help but remind Ada of the clone tanks in the Resident Evil plane.
Just as Ada was intently observing the biological experiments, an unhappy voice came from behind: "I told Parker I didn't want any soldiers in my lab!"
Ada immediately adjusted her demeanor, turned around, and explained, "Apologies, I was just curious, so I came to look. Besides, I am not a soldier; I am a war correspondent." As she spoke, she handed a forged press pass to the visibly annoyed Dr. Grace.
Grace glanced at it casually, frowned, and asked, "Why didn't Parker tell me about this?"
"He probably forgot. After all, I’m just a war correspondent paid to do a job."
Hearing this explanation, Grace’s suspicions were dispelled. After all, this was not the first time such a thing had happened; Earth needed to see news from here to drive up the company's stock, and to ensure people on Earth saw what the company wanted them to see, they frequently bribed journalists.
