Chapter 9: The Legendary Beauties
The people nearby watched as Ling Tian instantly gifted the girl a large diamond ring, merely asking her to keep his brother company, and then glanced at his dazzling, gold-laden appearance. A term sprang to their minds: "rich and flashy." Then someone blurted out, "Hey, rich guy, let's be friends!" So this was the benefit of befriending a wealthy man—he’d even pay for your womanizing.
"Big brother, let me be your follower!" At that moment, someone could no longer hold back and stepped right up to Ling Tian. He was chubby, with a rather ordinary look.
Others thought, this fellow really has guts, but would a rich man easily make friends? Everyone watched eagerly to see what would happen next.
"Do you have a beautiful sister?" Ling Tian looked at the man’s face and doubted he had any attractive sisters.
"No, none. I’m the only child," the man answered honestly.
"If you don’t have a pretty sister, I can’t be bothered to take you as a follower. I’d rather keep searching for beauties. Why are there so few beautiful women here?" Ling Tian continued scanning the crowd, but he found no one who caught his eye.
Seeing Ling Tian refuse him, the chubby man could only walk away in disappointment, secretly regretting that his parents hadn’t given him a beautiful sister.
"Brother Tian, what kind of woman are you looking for?" Zhang Yue, still holding the short-haired beauty, asked Ling Tian with some concern. To him, the women here were quite attractive—why wasn’t Ling Tian interested?
"Of course, I want the kind with an angelic face, a devilish figure, unmatched charm—a woman you’d want the moment you see her, but whom ordinary men can never win over." Ling Tian’s eyes sparkled as he spoke. In his past life, he’d seen a few such beauties, but back then he had no interest and never pursued any women. Now things were different; chasing women had become his main occupation.
"Uh, Brother Tian, women like that are rare here. Hanging out with us street punks all day, you’re unlikely to meet them," Zhang Yue said, a little troubled. He knew Ling Tian’s family was wealthy and could lead a completely different life, but the old Ling Tian just wasn’t interested in women—he preferred racing and fighting with them.
"So where can I find them?" Ling Tian’s interest was piqued; he wanted to find a stunning beauty to end his virginity and create a wonderful memory, while also paying tribute to the soul of this body’s former owner.
"Handsome, everyone knows—there are a few almost unattainable beauties in Jianghai City. One is the campus queen of Jianghai University, Lin Elegant from the finance department; another is the classical beauty Li Serene from the Chinese department; then there’s the cold-faced policewoman Han Ice; and finally, the provincial party secretary’s daughter, Song Violet Moon. These women have countless admirers, but not one has succeeded in winning them," the short-haired beauty chimed in before Zhang Yue could respond. She often heard other men talk about these women.
"Brother Tian, these beauties are in a whole different league. Forget chasing them—getting close is nearly impossible," Zhang Yue added. He’d heard of them but never taken it to heart—they were too far out of reach.
"What’s so hard about getting close? Lin Elegant and Li Serene are both at Jianghai University. If I enroll there, I can meet them. Han Ice is a policewoman—if I get into a fight and land in the station, I’ll see her. As for Song Violet Moon, the secretary’s daughter, she might be tricky. What does she do?" Ling Tian analyzed the situation and felt his chances were good, except for not knowing how to approach Song Violet Moon.
"Brother Tian, Song Violet Moon is much like you. You’re a street punk, but she’s the real boss of the underworld in Jianghai City. She’s twenty-two this year, and since her father is the provincial party secretary and she herself is extremely formidable, nobody can control her. You’d better not pursue this woman," Zhang Yue advised. Ling Tian had never cared about women, so Zhang Yue never discussed them, but now he seemed genuinely interested. Still, Song Violet Moon was best avoided.
"Why? Is she really that scary?" Ling Tian was intrigued. She was just a woman—how fierce could she be?
"Yes, there’s a saying in the underworld: 'Cherish your life, stay away from Lady Song.' That’s Song Violet Moon. It’s said even her father gives way to her. She’s beaten up countless men, forced many women into vice, and her moods are unpredictable. There’s even a rumor she’s a lesbian, preferring women," Zhang Yue recounted the tales he’d heard, hoping to dissuade Ling Tian from pursuing Song Violet Moon.
"Prefers women? Hmph! That’s only because she’s never tasted a real man. I’ve decided—I’ll make all these women my wives. No, these are far from enough; any woman I fancy, I’ll make her mine." Ling Tian was now impatient to meet these women. Difficult to woo? The harder, the more exciting.
"Uh, Brother Tian, are you joking?" Zhang Yue thought that just winning over one of these women would be near impossible, yet Young Master Ling wanted them all—what an outrageous ambition.
"I’m serious. Starting tomorrow, I won’t hang around with you guys. I’m going to Jianghai University to study. Of course, if you need anything, or miss me, you can find me. With Lin Elegant and Li Serene both at Jianghai University, I’ll have the best chance to win them," Ling Tian said. He felt there was little point in continuing to idle with Zhang Yue and the others—no beauties here. It was better to broaden his horizons at Jianghai University. One regret from his previous life was never attending university; those courses were too easy. He’d always received special training since childhood, and could finish a four-year program in a month. Now he could finally experience university life and, in the process, pursue beautiful women.
"Brother Tian, then let me wish you success first!" Zhang Yue raised his glass. There was no persuading him now—just hoping Ling Tian would succeed.
"For Brother Tian’s pursuit of beauties, cheers!" The others raised their glasses as well. If Ling Tian really managed to win these women, they’d share in the glory.
...
"Dad, Mom, I’m going to university—Jianghai University, finance department." Ling Tian broke the news to his parents after dinner.
"Son? You want to go to university? The ancestors must be smiling on us!" His mother, Li Meijun, was overjoyed. Every time her friends gathered, they boasted about their sons—what universities they attended, which countries they studied in. She always felt embarrassed, having only money to brag about, with nothing else to show for her son.
