Chapter 51: Telling Everyone to Watch the Show This Afternoon
He Hao Xuan wore a bitter expression. “But you’re my wife. Why shouldn’t I look at you? No matter how wicked I am, I’ve never even touched your little finger.”
No sooner had he finished speaking than a nosebleed started trickling down again.
“Do you… do you want to see a doctor?” Li Qing Ying asked, concern evident in her voice.
He Hao Xuan shook his head and sighed. “What good would seeing a doctor do? I'm not ill; my body is just too strong, too vigorous, that’s why I get nosebleeds. Wife, actually, you could help me.”
“How could I help you?” Li Qing Ying asked, puzzled.
“It’s just that I’m overheated. If you’d let me cool down at night, just let me relieve this fire, my body would be perfect.” He Hao Xuan said, speaking lewdly.
“You scoundrel.” Li Qing Ying blushed, set down her bowl, and turned to run upstairs.
He Hao Xuan chuckled and continued his busywork in the kitchen.
The next morning, after Li Qing Ying had finished breakfast, she found her parents had already left for work. They’d forgotten she didn’t have a car and hadn’t given her a ride to the company.
Seeing this, He Hao Xuan grinned. “Wife, I have a car. Ride with me.”
“You have a car?” Li Qing Ying glanced at He Hao Xuan in surprise, her heart filled with doubt, but she agreed nonetheless.
When she saw him wheeling out his electric scooter, she couldn’t help but laugh.
“Well, what do you think? Not bad, right? Let me tell you, don’t underestimate this ride. It's rush hour now, traffic jams everywhere. This is way faster.” He Hao Xuan patted the back seat, inviting Li Qing Ying to get on.
She hesitated for a moment, then finally sat behind him.
He Hao Xuan handed her his helmet, and only then did they set off.
Back when Xiao Qiang had secretly replaced the battery with a larger, more powerful one, to make the scooter run faster and stronger, so He Hao Xuan found it much easier to operate.
As he sped up, Li Qing Ying gradually leaned closer to him.
At first she blushed, but seeing he didn’t react, she finally relaxed.
Truth be told, He Hao Xuan wasn’t unaffected at all. The potent herbal tonics he’d been taking lately were no joke; whenever a beautiful woman drew near, his mind wandered, let alone when it was someone like Li Qing Ying—a true beauty.
Near the entrance of Bai Li Group, He Hao Xuan braked, and Li Qing Ying, caught by the momentum, stumbled forward.
The softness pressed against his back made He Hao Xuan feel a refreshing autumn breeze, his spirit soaring.
“You’re so bad.” Li Qing Ying knew full well He Hao Xuan had done it on purpose, and with a coquettish pout, she raised her little fist and tapped his back.
At that moment, a BMW X5 pulled up beside them, stopping just as they did.
The driver’s window rolled down, revealing Li Da Song’s arrogant face. “Well, Li Qing Ying, did you run out of money for a taxi? You actually let that loser He Hao Xuan drive you to work on an electric scooter? This is hilarious.”
Li Qing Ying got off the scooter, her gaze icy as she glanced at Li Da Song. “How I come to work is none of your business.”
“How could it not be my business? I’m the general manager of Bai Li Group now. If anyone damages our company’s image, it’s my concern.” Li Da Song sneered. “But your family is hopeless now. You’re pretty enough, thought you’d marry a rich man and have a good life. Who’d have guessed you’d marry such a coward? What a joke.”
Li Qing Ying ignored him, took her bag, and headed inside.
Li Da Song, seeing this, drove into the underground garage.
After parking, he called his assistant. “Listen up, before the end of the afternoon shift, gather some employees at the company entrance. There’s going to be a good show.”
He Hao Xuan rode his scooter straight to the BMW dealership. Li Qing Ying liked BMWs, so he’d decided to buy one.
When He Hao Xuan parked his scooter at the dealership’s entrance, he was instantly met with contemptuous looks from the staff inside.
These days, buyers at the dealership—even if they didn’t drive—arrived in taxis, dressed in designer clothes, looking every bit the part of the wealthy.
But this man, dressed in beach shorts and slippers, looked exactly like a laborer. The staff assumed he wasn’t here to buy a car, but perhaps to unclog the toilets.
“Hey, worker, who told you to come in through the front? Didn't they tell you laborers use the back door? Entering through the front will affect our business and damage the reputation of our BMW dealership.” A young woman with heavy makeup, her name tag reading 'Qin Lihua,' stepped out and berated him.
He Hao Xuan parked his scooter properly. “I’m here to buy a car.”
“Hahaha, that’s the funniest joke I’ve heard all year. You’re here to buy a BMW?” Qin Lihua mocked. “Do you know how much the cheapest BMW costs? It’s hundreds of thousands. No way someone like you could afford one. Honestly, you couldn’t even afford a domestic car worth a few tens of thousands.”
Qin Lihua had seen plenty of men like this—poor, yet eager to put on airs. They’d come to ogle the pretty saleswomen at luxury dealerships, hoping to take advantage.
But even if you wanted to act rich, at least dress decently, wear a suit and tie. Beach shorts and slippers? Even laborers dress better; the workers who came yesterday wore a pair of worn leather shoes.
He Hao Xuan ignored Qin Lihua’s snobbish attitude and walked straight inside. “I want to buy a car. Who is going to help me?”
“Get out, or I’ll call security right now!” Qin Lihua shouted, furious that He Hao Xuan not only refused to leave but was bold enough to claim he wanted to buy a car.
At that moment, a portly man entered, a gold chain around his neck and a leather pouch in his left hand. “Ladies, Brother Niu is here to buy a car!”
“Oh, Boss Niu, you’re here to buy a car?” Qin Lihua saw a braided saleswoman approaching Boss Niu and immediately waved her away.
By dealership rules, sales staff took turns serving customers, unless a customer had a prior arrangement with a specific salesperson. In that case, the designated salesperson would greet the regular customer.
Since Qin Lihua had spoken to He Hao Xuan, she was considered his attendant, and the next customer would be assigned to the braided girl, Ma Xiao Zhi.
But Qin Lihua thought He Hao Xuan was obviously too poor to buy a car, just here for amusement, so she fixated on the next customer, not letting the recently hired Ma Xiao Zhi profit from it.
Qin Lihua was the sales supervisor. Even if Ma Xiao Zhi disagreed, she didn’t dare protest and retreated to the back.
“Yes, beautiful, any recommendations? If you ladies please me, I might just buy a car.” Boss Niu’s eyes lingered on Qin Lihua, her seductive figure stirring his desire, and his hands grew restless.
“Brother Niu, what price range are you looking for?” Qin Lihua discreetly evaded his wandering hands, calculating which model to recommend at what price to offer him the best deal.
