He Haoxuan nodded and said, "Alright, I'll go. Hand over the relevant documents."

Everyone was secretly delighted to see He Haoxuan accept this hot potato. Chen Zhidong handed him the files and then retreated back into his office. For a moment, the office was deathly quiet, a stark contrast to the earlier clamor. After reviewing the documents, He Haoxuan stood up and headed for the exit.

It was just sales work; even if a deal didn't go through, there was no need for bad blood. Why were his colleagues so terrified? Did they really think the client would eat them alive?

As soon as He Haoxuan stepped outside, his colleagues began to whisper among themselves. "Let's place a bet. How long do you think it takes for him to come crawling back?"

"Heh, I give him less than five minutes before he's rolled back here," one sneered.

"Ignorance is bliss. It'll do him good to get knocked down a peg or two," another added.

While the Fourth Department wasn't exactly prestigious, there were still a few decent accounts within the branch. If they could just snag those, meeting their quotas would be easy.

Once He Haoxuan stepped outside, his phone rang. It was Li Qingwan. "Hello? He Haoxuan, where the hell are you?"

"I'm at work," He Haoxuan replied.

"Get over here immediately. I need you for something," Li Qingwan said dismissively. In her mind, He Haoxuan was just a former manual laborer; what kind of "work" could he possibly be doing?

He Haoxuan shook his head. "I can't. I'm busy."

"You're not coming? Do you want me to send those photos and voice recordings to my sister?" Li Qingwan threatened.

"Fine. I'll take a taxi over," He Haoxuan conceded.

"No way! You need to drive the BMW X7 here, or I'll never let you hear the end of it," she commanded.

He Haoxuan felt a headache coming on. There were only two BMW X7s available. Song Li’s car was definitely off-limits, and Li Qingying used the other one occasionally, so that was out too.

He Haoxuan had no choice but to call the owner of the local BMW dealership. He learned there was one left in stock; it didn't have plates yet, but it could be driven off the lot immediately. Without a second thought, he took a taxi to the dealership, bought another BMW X7, and drove it toward Qingshan University. The owner assured him that the license plate situation would be handled for him later.

When He Haoxuan arrived at the university, Li Qingwan called again. "He Haoxuan, why aren't you here yet?"

"Sigh, Miss, I had to go find a BMW X7 to drive over. Do you have any idea how difficult that is?" He Haoxuan complained, his face twisting into a grimace. If it were any other car, it would have been easy to borrow, but the BMW X7 was practically a staple of the Li family.

"So, did you manage to rent one?" Li Qingwan asked.

"I bought one," He Haoxuan replied.

"Good. Get to the entrance of my dormitory and bring those concert tickets with you," she said, hanging up before he could respond, as if he were nothing more than a servant.

He Haoxuan shook his head. Fortunately, he had prepared in advance and brought four tickets, otherwise, Li Qingwan would have surely exploded.

When he arrived at the women's dormitory, Xiao Juan and her friends ran over excitedly. "Hey, Brother Xuan, did you change cars?" Xiao Juan’s sharp eyes noticed that the BMW X7 looked brand new, even lacking license plates.

Li Qingwan shot He Haoxuan a glare. This idiot! If he was going to rent a car, he should have at least rented one that looked authentic. If the plates were different, he should have just covered them up instead of ripping them off entirely! Still, she had to maintain appearances for his sake.

"Xiao Juan, you don't know the half of it. Someone crashed his last car, so he just went out and bought a new one," she lied smoothly. Boasting didn't cost a dime, so she kept it up.

"Wow, Brother Xuan is so rich! Qingwan, you’re so lucky," Xiao Juan and the others said, gazing at her with envy.

Li Qingwan basked in the flattery, secretly pleased. She loved this kind of prestige, which was exactly why she needed He Haoxuan to keep playing the part of her boyfriend.

"Ahem, Qingwan, here are your tickets," He Haoxuan said, eager to appease her so she wouldn't send those recordings to Li Qingying.

Li Qingwan triumphantly took the four tickets and handed them to Xiao Juan and her friends. Their eyes sparkled. "Wow, I never expected this! Even when no one else could get tickets, Brother Xuan got four of them so easily."

"Yeah, Brother Xuan, how much do we owe you?" another girl asked bashfully. Even though the face value was about a thousand, they were selling for three or four thousand on the street, so they weren't sure what to offer.

Li Qingwan was riding so high on their praise that she had no interest in their money. She waved a hand dismissively. "He’s so rich, what's a few tickets to him?"

"Oh, is Brother Xuan really giving them to us?" Xiao Juan squealed.

"Yes, I'm not lying to you," Li Qingwan said, lifting her chin proudly.

"Wow, Qingwan is the best! That Minnie girl can't even compare to you," the girls showered her with more praise, leaving Li Qingwan feeling like she was walking on air.

Once the girls had left, Li Qingwan turned to He Haoxuan. "He Haoxuan, don't worry, I'll pay you back. You paid face value, right? A little over four thousand?"

"Sigh, Li Qingwan, you care too much about appearances," He Haoxuan sighed, feeling helpless against his sister-in-law. Fortunately, her family had money, or else throwing away three thousand dollars like that would have been a real blow.

"Hmph, He Haoxuan, my business is none of your concern. Tell me how much it cost to rent the car, and I'll pay you," Li Qingwan snapped, furious that he dared to lecture her.

"Forget it, I don't want your money. I just hope you won't be so vain in the future," He Haoxuan said, shaking his head.

Li Qingwan stomped over to the passenger side, yanked the door open, climbed in, and shouted, "He Haoxuan, get in the driver's seat!"

Expecting her to settle the payment, He Haoxuan sat back in the driver's seat. To his shock, as soon as he was settled, Li Qingwan lunged at him and sank her teeth deep into his wrist.

"Ouch!" He Haoxuan cried out, shoving her away. He saw bright red teeth marks on his wrist—the little brat had bitten hard enough to almost draw blood.

"Are you insane?" he scolded.

"Hmph, I have the evidence on you. If you push me away again, you'll regret it," she threatened. She glanced around, saw that the car doors were shut and no one could see inside, and boldly climbed over to the driver's side, sitting directly on his lap.

"What—what are you doing?" He Haoxuan asked, his voice strained.

Seeing him try to push her away, Li Qingwan shrieked, "He Haoxuan, if you dare move, I'll tell my sister and make sure you never have a place to call home!"

"Just tell me, what do you want?" He Haoxuan felt like he was losing his mind. Li Qingwan was a young, beautiful girl, and with her sitting on his lap, the intoxicating scent of her perfume and the softness of her body were becoming impossible to ignore.
