Oh no, I've become a pervert! [Double-length chapter, please subscribe!]
Faced with Lu Chen’s sudden disappearance, Aili hadn’t quite processed what was happening.
“Captain?”
She turned her head to where Lu Chen had been, but saw nothing.
She carefully checked the armored radar display—no reaction at all.
The cockpit was empty, as if she were the only one there.
Yet, she was unmistakably sitting on the Captain’s lap.
That soft, firm sensation couldn’t be mistaken.
Realizing the truth, she exclaimed excitedly,
“I knew it! The Captain’s physique can fuse with anything—being able to turn invisible so quickly, that’s the effect of perfect fusion!”
“Damn, I’ve turned into a pervert!”
Lu Chen blurted out, now invisible.
Usually so calm, in this enclosed space, now invisible, his mind couldn’t help but wander to certain indecent scenarios, and his body gradually responded.
Even while invisible, aside from touch, Aili could still hear Lu Chen’s voice.
Her feelings were the opposite of his.
Suddenly, she felt that her perverted Captain wasn’t so perverted after all.
After all, what kind of real pervert would actually call themselves one?
“The books say it’s normal for humans to have a physiological reaction to the opposite sex. It’s just hormones—it’s not being a pervert!”
“I mean, you can turn invisible even at such close range?”
This invisibility was too powerful!
Lu Chen was so excited he was at a loss for words.
If he used this ability to…
But while he wasn’t exactly a gentleman, he wasn’t a pervert either—living invisible all the time would be unbearable.
He closed his eyes, sensing clearly: the whale pearl was forming a vortex in his dantian, like a black hole.
At the center of this black hole was the invisible whale pearl.
Around it, the swirling vortex was composed of Lu Chen’s resonant spiritual power.
He gently exerted his will, attempting to withdraw his resonant spiritual energy from the dantian’s whale-pearl vortex until it was completely gone, leaving the whale pearl as an isolated, invisible relic.
In this way, Lu Chen gradually reappeared on the armor’s radar display.
In Aili’s eyes, he became visible again.
Then, injecting spiritual power once more, he became invisible again.
Next, he withdrew the energy, reappearing.
One-click switching, smooth and easy.
Totally painless, with no rejection; soul and spiritual power fused together more seamlessly than Lu Chen had imagined…
It proved true: what’s stolen, robbed, or fished for is never as good as what’s given to you.
—This was the pinnacle of Lu Chen’s scavenging and treasure-hunting career since he crossed over three years ago!
Aili recognized the strategic value of this invisible pearl and reminded Lu Chen,
“For you, Captain, this is priceless. Even if you take it out, never sell it to Prince Tali!”
“Hmm, but if it only lets me turn invisible, at best I’m just a pervert. I need to expand the ability.”
Lu Chen then had a further idea.
“The brand-new scavenger armor—I personally rewrote the spirit patterns on all internal parts and added weapons. In a pinch, I can drive it with my own spiritual power… If I turn invisible and then use my resonant energy to power the armor’s engine, is it possible to make the entire armor invisible, just like the shadow whale?”
With this thought, he immediately shut down the armor’s engine.
Placing his right palm on the handprint groove on the control panel, he closed his eyes and slowly channeled spiritual energy at level twenty into it.
As his resonant power poured in, the pressure built up; Lu Chen forced the level thirty engine to ignite with level twenty spiritual power.
Of course, it could only output level twenty thrust.
Even so, it was enough to put the armor into invisible mode.
Very soon!
Lu Chen’s wristband received a call from Gloria.
“What the hell are you doing? The ship’s alarm says the armor’s locator has vanished… Are you two still alive?”
Lu Chen replied coldly,
“If I died, what would you do?”
Gloria didn’t hesitate, answering immediately,
“I’d forge a marriage certificate and inherit your fortune in tears.”
Lu Chen’s tone darkened.
“Fine, I’ll go and make a will right now—Aili as primary heir, you’re second.”
Aili was both flattered and too nervous to speak.
Gloria couldn’t care less. She put her gaming glasses back on, her face indifferent.
“Heh, don’t be stupid… If you could die, you’d have died a hundred times already, without even a chance to make a will.”
Lu Chen froze.
He had to admit, this woman might be a fool in some ways, but she had uncanny intuition, a sort of superposition of wisdom and idiocy.
“Heh, just wait till I’m back—you’ll see!”
Lu Chen muttered fiercely, already imagining a scenario in his mind.
Right now, he could barely contain his excitement.
The armor’s invisibility experiment had been a complete success!
The Leonin could track Lu Chen by either the scavenger armor or his wristband; even if shut down or powered off, it could still pinpoint his location.
His wristband had always been powered by his own spiritual energy.
Now, the scavenger armor was too.
In essence, the shadow whale pearl’s invisibility was being extended via his spiritual power to cover the entire armor.
It just consumed a lot of energy!
Lu Chen could only maintain armor-wide invisibility for a short time before he was out of breath, nearly coughing blood…
Until Aili handed him a healing elixir.
“Here, Captain!”
Lu Chen felt a wave of affection—she really was a caring little companion.
He immediately took the elixir; his stamina and spiritual energy quickly returned to their peak, and the coughing stopped.
He then disengaged the armor’s invisible mode.
Pausing for a moment of silence amid the collapsed whale remains, Lu Chen turned and left the cave.
Aleksei and the shadow whale lingered in Lu Chen’s mind.
“Perhaps, in the white-bearded whale, Aleksei saw the past of the insectoids: artificially bred, enslaved, mocked, betrayed, and abandoned.”
As he emerged from the canyon fissure, countless aged white-bearded whales lay prostrate outside the bramble forest, howling in grief.
Shimmering mutated skin and whale-pearl motes drifted skyward like thousands of fireflies above the canyon.
Lu Chen had Aili, the beastmaster, lead the shadow whale’s descendants in mourning, telling them the story of the shadow whale and its tearful end…
But he didn’t mention that he’d taken the shadow whale pearl.
Under the reverent gaze of thousands of white whales, Lu Chen and Aili returned to the ship and departed the planet’s crust.
On the Leonin, in the rear hold—
Lu Chen gave Aili a shushing gesture, then turned invisible again and jumped out of the armor.
Following behind Aili, he stealthily returned to the cockpit.
He decided to give Gloria a little surprise with his invisibility!
Seeing Aili return to the ship, but hearing nothing from Lu Chen, Gloria took off her gaming glasses.
“Where’s your idiot captain?”
Aili’s eyes reddened, and she burst into tears.
“The captain… he didn’t even have time to make a will before…”
Went invisible!
Aili was secretly laughing inside.
Lu Chen was impressed—he’d underestimated Aili’s acting skills.
Gloria frowned, stood up, and looked around, not believing Aili’s story so easily.
“What happened to him?”
Invisible, Lu Chen crept behind Gloria and smacked her…
But before his hand landed, Gloria suddenly spun around and slapped his wrist away!
She grabbed Lu Chen by the collar and hoisted him up.
Reeking of alcohol, her eyes gleamed with a deepening light.
“Did you really think I was some succubus anyone could touch? I indulge you sometimes, let you cop a feel, just to give you some motivation to make money, you lucky brat!”
She finished showing off.
But then, looking more closely, she saw she was only holding an empty jacket—the collar still hooked on a chair.
“Huh?”
Lu Chen had already slipped away, reappearing behind Gloria as silently as a ghost.
Smack!
He slapped Gloria’s ample waist.
Then Lu Chen made himself visible, striking a triumphant pose.
“My advice: play fewer games, drink less, and stop showing off—otherwise, you’ll get dizzy and give perverts an opening.”
Gloria froze, then quickly recovered her composure with a look of utter confidence.
“Don’t get cocky—that was part of the plan. Consider it a little bonus from your big sister… did you enjoy it?”
Lu Chen clapped his hands.
“My verdict: not as good as Aili.”
Gloria cocked her head, unconvinced.
She ran over to Aili and squeezed her waist.
“Wow, so soft…”
Aili’s eyes went wide, her body trembling, nearly turning into a white wolf.
Gloria flashed a victory sign at Lu Chen, a “maybe you gained, but I never lose” expression on her face.
Lu Chen could only rub his forehead in silence.
The story kept veering off in the wildest directions…
He didn’t bother putting his clothes back on, but went to take a shower.
…
The Leonin slowly ascended, navigating through the storm.
Aili, having regained her senses, recounted their adventure in the caverns to Gloria, her words brimming with pride.
After his shower, Lu Chen changed into something light and comfortable.
In high spirits, he sat at the leisure table—black tea with brandy. The taste of a certain galactic magician wasn’t bad at all.
Aili stared at a suspicious radar signal on the main screen, her white brows furrowed in thought.
“Captain, it looks like we’re being followed.”
Lu Chen was startled.
He hadn’t received any danger alerts.
“Don’t worry, it’s nothing serious. Slow down, let’s see who’s tailing us.”
The Leonin deliberately slowed until the radar signal became clear.
Aili cried out in surprise,
“Captain, it’s the Horn!”
Lu Chen’s brows knit together.
“That ship still hasn’t left Mistsea? Looks like the Minotaur Adventurers really are connected to the Guernica crew—and they’re tracking us on purpose!”
Gloria shrugged, completely unconcerned.
“They want a piece of the action too? You swallowed the whale pearl—I didn’t even get a taste!”
Aili quickly suggested,
“If you could make the whole ship invisible, Captain, we could shake off the Horn!”
Lu Chen shook his head, recalling the embarrassing moment when he’d run out of energy and coughed up blood.
“I can make the armor invisible because I engraved all its spirit patterns myself, and there aren’t many. Even with that, I could barely last a few moments… But the ship’s spirit patterns are ten times more numerous, and most were built in by Feiondi. How could I possibly make the whole ship invisible?”
Gloria put her hands on her supple waist and snorted.
“So what? Let’s just fight. I’m a pure-hearted succubus—I’m not afraid of minotaurs!”
In truth, Lu Chen wasn’t worried about the Horn.
No danger alert meant that, hemmed in by two Imperial Sea Wolf-class patrol ships and the storm, the Horn must have taken heavy damage and couldn’t threaten the Leonin.
At that moment, Aili had another idea.
“Maybe, now that you’ve fused with the shadow whale pearl, you could communicate with its descendants. Let the white-bearded whales summon another storm against the Horn.”
Lu Chen stared at Aili.
What a clever girl!
“It’s worth a try, but I’ll need your help.”
So, Lu Chen channeled the shadow whale pearl’s spiritual energy, while Aili, piloting the ship, sent out a beastmaster’s signal.
Passing on the authority of the Lord of Shadows.
Soon, an adult white-bearded whale approached.
“It’s working!” Aili exclaimed.
At first, only three or five whales appeared.
In a blink, there were dozens.
Together, they summoned a storm to trap the pursuing Horn.
However, the Horn seemed prepared, equipped with some anti-storm device, and easily broke through.
After repeatedly evading several storms, the Horn grew impatient and launched missiles at the whales!
Mistsea’s atmosphere was thick—laser cannons lost power over distance, but guided missiles were deadly!
One after another, the white-bearded whales were torn apart, dying in agony, their cries heart-wrenching.
The Leonin could have used the chaos to escape, but suddenly stopped.
Perhaps because of his fusion with the shadow whale pearl, Lu Chen felt the whales’ suffering as his own.
He stared coldly at the main screen, his eyes brimming with murderous intent.
The Leonin abruptly changed course, charging at the Horn!
“Stay out of this. I’ll deal with them myself.”
With those words, Lu Chen headed for the rear hold.
Aili was stunned, on the verge of tears.
“It’s my fault… I made a terrible suggestion, and now those whales are dead. The captain’s in danger because of me…”
Gloria patted her on the shoulder, smiling.
“Don’t worry—he’s not the impulsive type.”
Lu Chen leapt into the armor’s cockpit, activated full-armored invisibility, and silently left the ship.
As soon as he was clear, he deployed his fly drone.
The armor and the drone shot toward the Horn from two directions.
Meanwhile—
The Leonin’s main screen received a video transmission from the Horn.
From the armor’s display, Lu Chen saw the disgusting minotaur captain once again.
“First time meeting, Captain Lu. I’m Entil, captain of the Minotaur Adventurers.
Yesterday I announced on my live feed: if the Leonin dared come to Mistsea, I’d seize your female crew and grind your bones to dust.
But I’ve changed my mind. Hand over the shadow whale and I’ll guarantee you safe passage off Mistsea.
Be grateful for my mercy—we’re not the only ones after you, superstar!”
As he finished speaking—
Lu Chen’s voice and image suddenly appeared on every display screen aboard the Horn, every spirit device, and every crew member’s wristband…
“I’m Lu Chen, captain of the Primal Starvault Adventurers. Sorry, but I’m not as merciful as you. In ten minutes, I’ll wipe out everyone aboard the Horn.”
