Captain, we've made it into the association's news! Please keep following our story!
There were many theme parks in the Empire devoted to cultivation.
Yet most of those parks were filled with actors or artificial beings; the side stories all followed scripts.
A native cultivation world like the True Spirit Continent, with genuine cultivators and nothing staged, was exceedingly rare.
This was a business opportunity.
Even within the Empire, even the Imperial Army, coming to the Pangu Corridor was ultimately a matter of profit.
As the savior of the True Spirit Continent, Lu Chen was fortunate enough to glimpse the developer’s proposal.
Centered on Forbidden Mountain, a thousand-mile radius would be marked out as a game zone, serving as the first-stage trial area.
This land was also where the Imperial fleet would be stationed.
The developers promised not to damage the ecosystem or social order of the continent. The park would operate under legal employment contracts, with no forced labor for native cultivators, and contract workers would be protected from injury risks.
Despite these assurances, capitalists…
Fortunately, with diverse guests to accommodate and given the unique nature of the Pangu Corridor, Lu Chen believed the developers would not go too far.
Since the Azure Mist Sect lay within the zone, they were forcibly required to relocate, though they could choose to sign a contract with the developers.
The sect leader sought Lu Chen’s advice.
Lu Chen’s suggestion was: sign!
Take the hefty sum first, then decide what comes next.
The developers only contracted for the land, the sect’s name, and its buildings. If disciples working in the park were unhappy, they were allowed to leave and seek employment elsewhere. Later, they could establish a Cloud Mist Sect somewhere new—wouldn’t that be splendid?
The sect leader agreed.
Then, Lu Chen declined an exclusive interview with the Aurora edition of Imperial Entertainment Weekly.
One of the three most influential media outlets in the galaxy, Imperial Entertainment Weekly was formerly Imperial Truth News. It specialized in deconstructing and distorting facts, publishing not entertainment news but viewing all things through an entertainment lens.
Lu Chen glanced at the list of interview questions: praise for the Angel’s crew’s saintly acts, mockery of the continent’s destiny legends, even doubts about his own identity, and jokes about the two female members of the Primal Star Dome Adventure Team…
Lu Chen had no interest in fame, and even less in being ridiculed. He firmly refused the paid interview.
After being rebuffed, Imperial Entertainment Weekly even tried to bribe Gloria and Ellie to interview them—Lu Chen blocked each attempt.
That night, Lu Chen and his companions spent the night atop Boulder Peak, marking the end of ten days of cultivation and the Demon Battle.
Over those ten days, Gloria made no progress.
Lu Chen had mastered the power of Universal Resonance—only at the beginner’s level, but further cultivation was unnecessary; experience would heighten his realm.
Ellie failed to master Universal Resonance, but her cultivation improved, and she learned many mage techniques: by blending the five elemental energies, she could control objects at will, even transform her energy into natural elements.
For example, she could conjure a fireball barehanded.
Thus, should they land on a frigid planet, warming themselves would no longer be an issue.
Of course, in the interstellar era dominated by spiritual machinery, low-level mage combat ability was questionable, yet she could always become a magician.
Midnight.
Lu Chen caught some adorable spirit rabbits within the sect.
He skinned them, drained the blood, and cleaned out the innards.
Then he fetched his barbecue gear from the ship, setting up a grill atop the mountain’s massive boulder.
Ellie took charge of conjuring flames, roasting the rabbits.
Three plump rabbits, their skins gleaming, were sliced open by Lu Chen, then smothered with heaps of chopped scallions, garlic paste, chili oil, cumin powder, salt, slices of peppercorn, and star anise…
Under Ellie’s precise fire control and the infusion of dozens of flavor-rich fruits, an irresistible aroma erupted like a volcano, penetrating to the very soul.
The sizzling meat released droplets of hot oil that traced the marbled flesh, its golden-brown sheen and spicy yet fresh fragrance intoxicating, neither greasy nor gamey.
The mountain breeze carried the scent for ten miles, so potent it seemed to defy heaven.
Lu Chen claimed it was to train Ellie’s fire control.
The young novice watched, dumbfounded and indignant.
When Lu Chen wasn’t nearby, he whispered to Ellie:
“Ellie, you’re half-demon, a beastkin. If he lets you roast rabbits today, tomorrow he’ll have you roast wolves.”
Ellie replied earnestly:
“Thank you for the warning, but werewolves are closer to humans than wolves. If the captain loves to roast rabbits and wolves, it just means he’s greedy, not perverse.”
Not far from the boulder, Lu Chen overheard Ellie’s words.
He thought, oh no, he’s becoming an idol in Ellie’s eyes; she’s starting to mythologize him.
Her ideological imprint hadn’t been broken, merely transformed into a new form.
At midnight, mechanical rumbling filled the Azure Mist Sect.
Floating octopus-like excavators installed underground formations and emergency rescue systems within the sect, designed to distinguish visitors from natives, ensuring guests’ gaming experience and absolute safety.
Starlit night, immortal mountains, machines…
The classical world of cultivation and modern machinery fused together brutally, without transition.
Lu Chen still wasn’t sure whether bringing the Empire here was good or ill.
But it was better than the continent’s total annihilation, or being ravaged by interstellar pirates.
Gloria returned, drawn by the aroma of roasted meat.
She staggered in, hugging a half-human-sized wine jar.
She burped in Lu Chen’s direction.
Her flushed face nearly pressed against his lips.
“I think we don’t need to rush after the White Dew. Waiting here for the next cruise ship is just fine.”
Lu Chen mused that this woman was drunk, yet her logic for making easy money remained clear—it wasn’t simple.
“We’re heroes here, about to have the ‘Cultivation World’ park open. If we casually do a livestream or play a character, we’ll be making millions in no time. Why risk our lives adventuring?”
“Senior Gloria is right; you’ll make a fortune if you stay!”
Too small, too short-sighted.
Lu Chen gazed at the sky, his eyes filled with starlight… though all he saw were floating stones.
“My journey is to the stars and the sea. In the vast universe, there are countless True Spirit Continents waiting for me to save—how can I settle for comfort in a corner?”
Translation: in the vast universe, there are untold treasures waiting for him to collect!
Hearing this, Ellie’s icy blue eyes reflected the stars and Lu Chen’s figure.
She skewered a roasted rabbit with her sword and handed it to Lu Chen.
“Captain, the rabbit’s ready!”
That night, celebrating victory in the Demon Battle, Lu Chen, Gloria, and the young novice ate until their mouths glistened with oil and drank themselves into oblivion.
Ellie, due to her unique constitution, remained immune to drunkenness.
When the three fell asleep, she lit a bonfire under the grill, reading and cultivating by firelight.
Before dawn.
Following Lu Chen’s instructions, she fed him a pre-prepared sobering pill, waking him.
“Captain, it’s time to depart.”
The haze in Lu Chen’s mind vanished instantly. He sprang up, still hearing the mechanical rumble in his ears.
“Mm.”
Lu Chen had no intention of staying to watch the construction of the ‘Cultivation World’ live-action park. He hoisted Gloria, who was sprawled like a giant caterpillar, and boarded the ship with Ellie.
The Leonine rose slowly from Boulder Peak.
It hovered for a while, then decisively broke through the atmosphere.
Piercing black mist and storms, they left the Blue-Eyed Star System behind.
They entered the ink-swirled star corridor of Pangu.
The Leonine’s interstellar adventure began anew.
Lu Chen sat at the leisure table, stretching lazily, when Ellie suddenly exclaimed:
“Captain, we’re in the Association News!”
