Chapter 106: Duel with Aochuang

Sue and Najia each held an energy cannon, unleashing its fury on the Vibranium robot that had stormed into the control room. They had to hold that control room at all costs.

Yet more and more enemies poured in, and they were hard-pressed to contain the onslaught. Just then Thor came crashing down from the heavens. Mjolnir swung relentlessly toward the Vibranium robot as he stood guard at the doorway of the control room, blocking the enemies who sought to rush inside.

Tony Stark also provided fierce aerial support, and together they managed to hold the control room...

Vision was truly growing anxious. If every last one of his machines was destroyed, he himself would be trapped. Arthur seized the moment when Vision was distracted, his right hand clamping down on the robot’s throat.

Both gems on Arthur’s right hand blazed with light. A yellow energy shield enveloped Vision’s body before vanishing into nothing.

With the Reality Stone’s aid, Arthur poured every ounce of power into the Mind Stone and succeeded. The yellow energy sealed off Vision’s data core, cutting off his escape into the network.

“Damn you! You actually trapped me!” Vision exclaimed, shock and fury twisting his features. He had never imagined Arthur could corner him. An unprecedented sense of crisis washed over him.

After Arthur fully locked Vision’s data source with the gems, a wave of weakness suddenly crashed over him. Vision saw Arthur faltering and struck back, clamping his hand around Arthur’s throat and hurling him from the air down to the ground.

Arthur slammed into the floor with brutal force. Vision’s right hand unleashed a massive red energy beam toward him, but the attack was instantly blocked by a crimson energy shield.

Wanda dropped from the sky and planted herself in front of Arthur. Both hands blazing with chaotic magic, she formed an energy shield to deflect Vision’s assault.

“It’s you again! You think you can ruin my plans? Die!” Four streams of red energy lanced from Vision’s eyes and hands. Wanda gritted her teeth and held her shield, barely managing to stop the overwhelming barrage.

Her power was still not enough. The shield held for perhaps ten seconds before shattering, and Wanda was blasted away by the sheer force of the beams.

“No!” Arthur watched Wanda being hurled into the air by the energy ray, and his heart seized with pain!

Vision charged forward, seizing Wanda’s throat and lifting her limp form into the air.

“Seems you care deeply for this woman. Now let me teach you what it feels like to lose someone you love!” Vision thrust his hand into Wanda’s chest!

“No!” Arthur screamed, the sound tearing from his soul as he tried to rise, but the Infinity Stone had drained him to his last reserves.

A blur of movement flashed across the battlefield. Vision was pierced through the chest by a vibranium spear wielded by Pietro and driven into the ground!

Vision retaliated with a counter-blast that sent Pietro soaring. Just as he rose, T’Challa kicked him away with devastating force.

Arthur staggered to Wanda’s side, scooping her into his arms and staring at the gaping hole in her chest. Red energy flowed around her, and under the Reality Stone’s power the wound began to close. A new heart formed and began to beat again, and Wanda’s breathing slowly returned.

Arthur knew her fragile state could last only a short time; death was coming for her.

“Venom! Where are you?” Arthur shouted across the battlefield.

A black monster broke free from the robots it had been battling and charged toward him.

Arthur watched Venom racing to his side and finally allowed himself a measure of relief. As long as Venom remained, even the worst injuries could be healed!

Under Arthur’s and Pietro’s anxious eyes, the black liquid from Venom slowly enveloped Wanda, leaving only a small white cat pacing frantically nearby.

Arthur picked up the kitten and asked, “How is it? Can Wanda’s wounds be healed?”

“Her heart is completely destroyed, but I can repair a new one. After this I must restock my energy stores. I’ve burned through far too much stamina.” Venom answered.

Pietro and Arthur finally exhaled. As long as Wanda lived, Arthur told Pietro to continue the fight while he stayed with her.

“Go treat her well. When we return I’ll buy you a truckload of chocolates to replenish your energy!” Arthur told Venom.

Vision yanked the vibranium spear from his chest and clashed with T’Challa. Steve Rogers came to lend his strength, and the two heroes attacked together.

Vision’s red energy beams were blocked by Steve Rogers’ shield, while T’Challa’s Black Panther suit could absorb the force and fire it back.

“You killed my father. Today I’ll take your life!” T’Challa’s strikes came faster and faster. Vision could only defend, while Steve kept hammering at him with his shield.

Facing two formidable foes, Vision was momentarily helpless. Suddenly he shot upward into the air. T’Challa and Steve, unable to fly, could only watch him retreat.

Just as Vision was about to escape, a flying hammer struck him down. It was Thor who had arrived, and Tony Stark rained energy beams down on the falling robot.

Vision crashed heavily to the ground. Thor and Tony Stark descended from the sky, and for a moment Thor, Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, and T’Challa stood together, surrounding Vision...

Venom left Wanda’s body and returned to the small cat. Arthur, holding the white kitten, finally smiled as he saw Wanda without a single mark on her.

Wanda slowly opened her eyes and saw Arthur holding her. She reached out and gently touched his face.

“Is this a dream? Arthur.”

“Don’t worry, you’re safe now.” Arthur pulled her close, and Wanda embraced him in return.

After a moment Arthur released her and asked, “Enough. Vision still needs us. How do you feel?”

“I feel wonderful. There’s not a trace of pain left. It’s truly miraculous.” Wanda stroked the white cat’s head.

Arthur glanced toward the sky where Vision was locked in fierce combat with Thor and Tony Stark.

“Let’s go. We should finish him.”

Wanda nodded. Red energy burst from her body and she shot toward Vision.

The golden trident formed in Arthur’s hand and he followed her into the air.

Vision fought evenly with Thor and Tony Stark in the skies, but his steel army had been all but wiped out and no reinforcements remained.

Tony Stark’s energy rays struck Vision’s surface, and a blue energy shield formed to block them. Thor seized the chance to summon lightning with Mjolnir, driving it down and blasting Vision away.

At that moment a red energy field locked Vision in place—Wanda’s chaotic power.

Arthur raised the trident and hurled an orange energy blast at him. Vision countered with a blue energy shield.

Tony Stark fired a yellow energy ray, and Thor raised Mjolnir to unleash countless lightning bolts.

“This is impossible!” Vision shouted as he stared at the unharmed Wanda.

Wanda poured every ounce of her red chaotic power into squeezing Vision’s body. The combined energies of Arthur, Tony, and Thor shattered the blue shield and slammed directly into him.

Vision’s form slowly turned red beneath the fourfold assault, like a glowing red-hot iron block growing brighter and brighter...

“No!”

With a thunderous boom, Vision was obliterated into fragments. The four of them looked upon the destroyed robot and finally smiled.
