The battle near the parking lot was fierce. Sporadic gunfire echoed through the tourist area, leaving the survivors both terrified and anxious. If you listened carefully, you could tell that some of the shots were coming from Villa 36, which only heightened their fear.

The last time the company clashed with the murderous witch from Villa 36, many of them had been taken by the company to serve as cannon fodder. In the end, they truly became cannon fodder, and only a handful made it back alive.

As the fighting intensified, gunshots grew more frequent, and even explosions could be heard. The survivors could only try to hide as best they could, praying they wouldn't be discovered.

...

"Damn it! All these slaves should be killed!" Bai Rui, hiding and watching Fei Chengqiang’s group as they launched their assault, was furious.

To them, disaster victims were nothing more than slaves. They could deal with them however they pleased. The fact that they hadn't killed them all was considered an enormous mercy. They'd spared them last time, but now, unexpectedly, these people had dared to attack.

Xu Heng glanced at Bai Rui as if he were an idiot, itching to kick him out. Only these fools would talk about slaves every day, regardless of the situation. Did he not see those so-called slaves had come to kill them?

"Xu, do something!" Bai Rui shouted anxiously. "If this keeps up, we're going to die."

Xu Heng wanted to take command, but the scene was too chaotic; if he came forward to rally the team, there was a high chance Su Miao would take him out with a sniper shot. Not to mention, behind him was a group of poisoned company members, prone to firing wildly at the slightest provocation.

"If you don’t want to die, shut up. If you do, keep yelling," Xu Heng glared at Bai Rui, gun in hand, watching the outside. The murderous witch was terrifying!

Xu Heng’s guess was spot-on. Su Miao had her sights set on them all along.

All she had left were five sniper bullets, reserved for the company’s key leaders.

"There they are."

After waiting a while longer, Su Miao spotted several figures in black cloaks. They rushed onto the battlefield at incredible speed, emotionless killing machines firing at the security team, Fei Chengqiang’s group, and the hallucinating, poisoned company members. There were only five of them, but armed with submachine guns, they killed rapidly. When they got close, they pulled out knives to finish their targets.

In the blink of an eye, all the poisoned company members were wiped out, not a single one left. Their efficiency rivaled only Su Miao’s own sniper shots.

Bai Rui trembled, "Xu, is the boss making a move?"

Xu Heng suppressed his discomfort and fear, "Yes, the boss is involved."

...

Old Song, holding an AK47, immediately fired at one of the black-cloaked figures. The shot hit, dropping the person to the ground, but they quickly rolled over and retaliated, forcing the security team to take cover as bullets whizzed past.

"Damn, who are these people?! Song, are you all right?" Chang Jieming asked over the walkie-talkie.

"No idea. Fall back!" Old Song decided instantly. They were here to loot, not to die. They’d killed fifteen, grabbed five guns—mission accomplished. These black-cloaked figures were far too fierce, with excellent gear, not something they could handle now; a brother might die here if they pushed their luck.

So, while Fei Chengqiang’s group kept the black-cloaked figures distracted, the security team retreated.

But as they withdrew, one black-cloaked gunman pursued them. Song and Chang Jieming fought back repeatedly but couldn't shake their pursuer and nearly got their heads blown off, realizing they were in real trouble.

Meanwhile, Fei Chengqiang’s group was even luckier. Greedy for more guns, they stumbled right into the line of fire, and a burst of submachine gun fire cut down over ten men. Fei Chengqiang, seeing things go south, quickly called for a retreat, but they moved too slowly and were chased down, losing even more men in the chaos.

Su Miao targeted the gunman chasing the security team.

Bang!

A shot rang out. The black-cloaked pursuer was shot in the head and dropped instantly.

"They can be killed," Su Miao murmured to herself. Last time, she’d used a magic array to rebound bullets and hit two of them, but those two got up and ran, making her wonder if they’d mutated to become bulletproof. But from the current situation, that didn’t seem to be the case.

...

"Dead!"

"Su Miao saved us! Move!" Seeing the black-cloaked pursuer slain, Song and Chang Jieming were both shocked and overjoyed, seizing the moment to lead their brothers in a rapid escape into the forest.

As for the submachine gun dropped by the black-cloaked gunman, they didn’t even think of picking it up—who knew if another would appear?

...

Fei Chengqiang’s heart bled. Most of his men, and those who’d managed to grab guns, had been wiped out in an instant. He didn’t mourn his fallen brothers so much as he mourned the loss of the hard-won guns; only three were left now.

Worse still, his own life was in jeopardy. Who were these black-cloaked figures, monsters?

Just as he reached despair, the gunmen suddenly withdrew at an even faster pace.

Fei Chengqiang collapsed to the ground, scrambling and crawling to escape.

...

Elsewhere, Su Miao sensed an intense malice directed at her. She swept her gaze across the area and spotted a young woman, about twenty-five or twenty-six years old, holding a copy of the Criminal Law, her long hair draped around her shoulders, eyes blood-red, an inexplicable aura emanating from her.

She stared intently, as if preparing to speak.

Fear. Su Miao dared not interact with such a person.

Without hesitation, she raised her sniper rifle and fired.

Bang!

The moment the shot rang out, Chi Wan Ning tilted her head, and the bullet pierced the tips of her loose hair. By the time Su Miao prepared to fire again, Chi Wan Ning had vanished from view.

"She got away..." Su Miao glanced at her remaining bullets—only three left.

Hmm?

Suddenly, Su Miao noticed something off with Xia Xiao An beside her. She turned around and saw a beautiful white Persian cat in the living room, its arrival unnoticed.

One eye was gold, the other blue, mesmerizing in their beauty. Its fur was sleek and glossy, inviting to touch.

"What a beautiful cat!" Su Miao put down her sniper rifle, crouched, and reached out her hand.

Seeing the cat, memories of her grandmother’s tabby cat flooded her mind, bringing nostalgia and comfort. Petting a cat was the most healing thing.

"Come here, meow~" Su Miao called to the Persian cat.

The cat seemed to understand and obediently walked toward her. Just as she was about to touch it, the Persian suddenly opened its blood-red jaws, grew rapidly, and lunged to swallow Su Miao whole.

At that instant, a brilliant blue fireball appeared in Su Miao’s hand and shot like an arrow into the cat’s mouth.

Boom!

In a flash, the Persian was blown apart by the fireball, its charred flesh and blood splattering across the hall.

[Wuwuwu, Sister Su Miao almost became a senior…] Xia Xiao An was so frightened she almost fainted.

She turned to look, her voice trembling, and saw Sister Su Miao already curled up inside a spotless cardboard box.
