Chapter Twenty: The Black Iron Guards
Chen Yunhu knelt on the ground, his body trembling under the oppressive might of Chen Xiong.
“Summon all the dark force warriors of the family. Come with me to the Xuanhai Martial Hall!”
“If anything happens to Lei Lie, I want the entire Xuanhai Martial Hall buried with him.”
Disappointment toward Chen Yunhu deepened in Chen Xiong’s heart as he spoke coldly.
“Fortunately, I came. Otherwise, Uncle Chen would have been implicated as well.”
“They must die, or the consequences will be endless.”
Listening from outside, Qin Feng felt a chill creep into his heart. Unable to endure any longer, he kicked down the wall.
“To think you are both so ruthless! Now that I know your plans, I cannot let you live!”
Qin Feng strode into the room, his eyes icy as he fixed his gaze on Chen Xiong and Chen Yunhu, his voice filled with frost.
“You’re Qin Feng?”
Chen Yunhu, recognizing the figure, cried out in shock.
“Yes, it’s me! Today, I’ll send you both to the underworld.”
Brandishing a spiked club, Qin Feng charged into the room, his target set on Chen Xiong. Chen Yunhu, whose cultivation was weak, was of no concern.
“Up!”
Seeing Qin Feng rush in, Chen Xiong showed no fear. With a low growl, he hoisted the desk before him and hurled it at Qin Feng.
With a resounding crash, Qin Feng lashed out with his arms, shattering the desk into splinters.
“How dare you infiltrate the Axe Gang! You certainly have courage!”
Taking advantage of Qin Feng’s momentary distraction, Chen Xiong seized the massive axe from the weapon rack, his gaze chilling as he spoke.
“Kill!”
The spiked club in Qin Feng’s hand swung swiftly, imbued with terrifying force, smashing again toward Chen Xiong.
With a heavy clang, Chen Xiong raised his axe to block the blow.
As the club crashed into the axe, Chen Xiong’s expression changed dramatically—a tremendous force surged up the axe toward him.
The skin between his thumb and forefinger split open, the axe flew from his grasp, and his body staggered backward under the impact.
“Again!”
Seeing Chen Xiong forced back, Qin Feng did not hesitate. He pressed forward, swinging the spiked club relentlessly.
The club came crashing down. With no way to dodge, Chen Xiong balled his fists and struck at the weapon, his expert eyes deftly avoiding the iron spikes and hitting the club itself.
With a sickening crack, as Chen Xiong’s fists collided with the club, that overwhelming strength shattered his arms outright.
“Die!”
Qin Feng’s foot struck Chen Xiong in the chest, the immense force crushing his organs.
“So powerful…”
Regret and unwillingness flickered in Chen Xiong’s eyes as he collapsed lifelessly to the ground.
“Spare me—please, spare me!”
Seeing Chen Xiong slain, Chen Yunhu’s eyes widened in terror. He fell to his knees, begging for his life, trembling in terror at the monster he had provoked.
A father so strong, a master of inner force, had been slain in less than two moves.
With a casual swing of the spiked club, Qin Feng dispatched Chen Yunhu with ease.
“Quick!”
“The boss is in trouble!”
The commotion from the killings of Chen Xiong and Chen Yunhu drew a crowd; numerous Axe Gang members hurried over, torches raised high.
“Those who aid the wicked must perish!”
With a low growl, Qin Feng brandished his club and charged at the approaching gang members.
With thunderous blows, he sent the first four dark force warriors flying.
“Kill!”
“You want to kill me? Then I will kill you! Everything I do is to protect myself!”
“I’ll slaughter until the world is overturned, until none dare cross me!”
Qin Feng’s heart was ice, his spiked club moving with deadly speed. Each strike claimed one, sometimes several, lives.
His combat prowess was inexhaustible, his stamina seemingly endless. Even injuries suffered during the onslaught healed rapidly as he fought through the Axe Gang stronghold.
When every gang member his eyes could see lay dead, Qin Feng searched the premises for valuables, then withdrew swiftly.
Before leaving, he set the Axe Gang’s base ablaze—a roaring inferno lighting up the night sky.
As Qin Feng stepped out, he saw another great fire burning in the distance upon the Li family’s territory.
“Fifty thousand taels of silver!”
“The Eighteen Axes of Heaven’s Might!”
“Eighteen century-old medicinal herbs.”
Returning to his residence, Qin Feng summoned Wang Fu, Wang Bao, and Liu Hu, then quickly entered his room to examine his gains.
Unfolding the Eighteen Axes of Heaven’s Might, Qin Feng studied the manual, finding its eighteen axe techniques exceptionally profound.
“Pity I’m not fond of axes, but Wang Bao or Liu Hu might put this to good use,” he murmured.
After hiding everything under the bed, he cleaned the blood from his body and lay down to rest.
He had slain Li Tianlong, Li Baisheng, Chen Xiong, Chen Yunhu, and at least a hundred others. Though his physical strength had recovered, his mind was weary and in need of respite.
“Let’s go!”
Having finished dealing with the Li family, Yan Chonghu and Shi Tie hurried toward the Axe Gang to aid Qin Feng.
Halfway there, they saw the Axe Gang’s headquarters already engulfed in flames, realizing then that the gang had become history.
Exchanging a glance, Yan Chonghu and Shi Tie, awed by Qin Feng’s might, departed in haste.
“Damn it, just who is responsible for this?”
“Could it be a dragon crossing the river?”
Huang Chengjun, leading the city guards, arrived to find both the Li family and the Axe Gang consumed by fire.
Corpses lay scattered within the inferno, their wounds betraying that the same hand had destroyed the Li, Axe, and Shen families.
Huang Chengjun’s face darkened, his anger mounting.
The perpetrator acted with ruthless ferocity, wiping out entire families without hesitation, showing utter contempt for the City Lord’s Mansion.
“Mobilize the Black Iron Guards! Search the entire Xuanzhou City!”
Huang Chengjun clenched his fists, barking the order.
The Black Iron Guards were the City Lord’s most formidable force, armed with powerful bows, crossbows, and other deadly weapons.
Once deployed, even masters of inner force or grandmasters surrounded by them would meet their end.
“Yes, Commander!”
Receiving the order, Lu Fei took the command token from Huang Chengjun and hurried toward the city’s outskirts.
The Black Iron Guards were always stationed outside the city, defending Xuanzhou. Only with the Lord’s or Commander Huang’s token could they be mobilized.
“Master, the Black Tiger Gang’s chief and second chief have arrived. I’ve settled them in the main hall,” Wang Fu reported hastily at dawn.
“Good. I’ll meet them right away.”
Qin Feng nodded and walked toward the hall.
