Chapter Nineteen: As Fearsome as a Tiger!
“Father, save me!”
Li Tianlong’s face was deathly pale; never before had he witnessed such a terrifying scene. His voice rang out in desperate plea.
“Don’t you dare harm my son!”
Li Baisheng roared, striking Li Tianlong with a palm and sending him flying, narrowly saving him from the blow.
With a deafening crash, Qin Feng’s strike missed, his spiked club smashing into the ground and shattering it, leaving a gaping pit.
“Who are you?”
“Why do you attack the Li family?”
Li Baisheng’s eyes were icy and filled with murderous intent. Sword in hand, he pointed at Qin Feng, his voice cold as steel.
He had been a hair’s breadth from losing his son.
“The one who will kill you,” Qin Feng sneered, his lips curling into a cruel smile. With a cold snort, he brandished his spiked club and hurled himself at Li Baisheng.
Li Baisheng twisted aside, dodging the direct assault, and stepped forward, his sword slashing toward Qin Feng.
Qin Feng’s lips showed a trace of contempt. His strength had reached three thousand jin, and the speed he unleashed was terrifying. Seeing Li Baisheng evade his downward strike, he swept the spiked club horizontally.
“Not good!”
Li Baisheng’s expression shifted. The speed at which his opponent changed moves was shocking. He rotated his sword to block the spiked club.
The club crashed against the sword, but the blade could not withstand such monstrous force. The weapon shattered beneath the impact, and the force slammed into Li Baisheng, sending him hurtling through the air.
He crashed to the ground, bones shattered in many places—irreparably crippled.
“No! This can’t be...”
Li Baisheng’s face was stricken with terror and disbelief.
He, a master of internal force, had been battered and flung aside, gravely wounded, lingering on the edge of death.
Qin Feng stamped a foot down on Li Baisheng’s chest, shattering his organs.
Blood gushed from Li Baisheng’s mouth, his eyes filled with utter disbelief.
He had died in his own home, on his own land—slaughtered without mercy.
“You who aid the wicked all deserve to die!”
After killing Li Baisheng, Qin Feng brandished his spiked club and attacked the remaining martial artists one by one—each fell to a single blow, slaughtered in moments.
“Li Baisheng was killed in a single strike?”
At that moment, Yan Chonghu and Shi Tie arrived at the gates of the Li family estate. Their eyes were wide with shock, their minds reeling at the scene before them.
“One blow to slay Li Baisheng.”
“Brother Qin’s strength has likely already surpassed the Master’s realm!”
Yan Chonghu stared at Qin Feng, his expression stunned, unable to believe what he saw.
“How… how terrifying,”
Shi Tie’s previous dissatisfaction with Qin Feng vanished without a trace.
If Qin Feng could end Li Baisheng with a single blow, he could as easily destroy him. How could he dare harbor resentment? All that remained was awe and dread.
“Were you following me?”
Qin Feng noticed Yan Chonghu and Shi Tie, his eyes growing cold as he spoke in a frosty tone.
“Brother Qin—no, Lord Qin, please let me explain.”
“I was uneasy when you went after Li Tianlong alone, so I followed in secret, in case anything went wrong.”
Yan Chonghu, noticing the chill in Qin Feng’s gaze, realized he was misunderstood and quickly explained, his heart pounding.
“Yes… Big Brother worried you lacked experience in the martial world and might fall for the Li family’s schemes. We came to protect you.”
Shi Tie was nervous to the core, even trembling inside. This man before him was very likely a master-level powerhouse.
“Is that so?”
The chill on Qin Feng’s face eased somewhat, though he didn’t fully trust their explanation.
“Lord Qin, I swear by heaven, every word I spoke is the truth!”
Seeing Qin Feng relax, Yan Chonghu hurried to reassure him.
“I hope you’re telling the truth and not deceiving me.”
Qin Feng gazed deeply at Yan Chonghu and Shi Tie, finally choosing to accept their explanation.
“There’s not much time. Soon, I must go to the Axe Gang. Gather the Li family’s valuables for me, then burn the place to the ground!”
After glancing at the sky, Qin Feng gave his orders to Yan Chonghu and Shi Tie, turned, and strode swiftly into the darkness.
“What should we do now, Big Brother?”
Shi Tie breathed a sigh of relief after Qin Feng left. The pressure Qin Feng exerted had been overwhelming.
“Since Lord Qin has left this matter to us, we’ll handle it flawlessly.”
“Lord Qin has already destroyed the Li family’s elite. We must eliminate the roots, leave no future threat!”
“Besides, look at these wounds—so similar to the destruction of the Shen family. I suspect they too were wiped out by Lord Qin.”
Yan Chonghu, no simple character himself, eyes flashing with ruthless determination, spoke coldly.
“Kill!”
With that, Yan Chonghu drew his long saber and charged into the Li residence.
“Good!”
Shi Tie also rushed into the Li home, swinging his black staff and smashing down every martial artist who dared bar his path.
“It seems they spoke the truth.”
Standing in the shadows, Qin Feng watched Yan Chonghu and Shi Tie storm the Li estate, now more inclined to believe their earlier words.
He had always believed that there would always be treacherous subjects plotting against him; he would not trust Yan Chonghu and Shi Tie’s words based on their account alone.
“Time is short. I must hurry.”
Casting one last glance at the Li family, Qin Feng set off quickly towards the Axe Gang.
Chen Yunhu, young master of the Axe Gang, had coveted the white orchid fruit and white ginseng fruit, even sending an advanced martial artist to kill him—this man was ruthless and must not be allowed to live.
Like a shadow, Qin Feng sped through the streets, making his way swiftly to the Axe Gang.
Upon arrival, he slipped inside, searching for Chen Yunhu’s quarters.
“Speak—what happened to Lei Lie?”
Chen Xiong glared down at Chen Yunhu, who knelt before him, his voice thunderous with rage.
Lei Lie had always been loyal to him, and he valued him highly. Lei Lie had been absent for several days. When he questioned Chen Yunhu, the latter was evasive—an unease crept into his heart.
“I dare not conceal the truth from you, Father. Uncle Lie was sent by me to assassinate someone.”
Chen Yunhu trembled under Chen Xiong’s imposing presence, not daring to hide anything.
“Who?”
Chen Xiong’s face softened slightly.
“I went to Baozhi Pavilion to buy the white orchid fruit and white ginseng fruit, but they were purchased by Qin Feng, nephew of Chen Xuanhao of Xuanhai Martial Hall. I went to ask for them, but Qin Feng ignored me, so I sent Uncle Lie to assassinate him and retrieve the fruits.”
Chen Yunhu spoke in a low voice.
“How long ago did Lei Lie leave?”
Chen Xiong’s tone was grave.
“It’s been seven days,” Chen Yunhu replied softly. He too sensed that Uncle Lie might have met with disaster; otherwise, why had he not returned?
With a crash, a book sailed from Chen Xiong’s hand, striking Chen Yunhu’s face and leaving it covered in blood.
“Why didn’t you tell me sooner?”
“Useless fool!”
Chen Xiong’s face twisted in fury. Lei Lie had been gone for seven days—he was surely lost.
