"Boom!"
Chu Jinghai was sent flying by a strike from Liu Changqing’s spear. His chest took another heavy blow, and he coughed up a spray of blood.
"Insolent!"
Qin Feng had arrived just in time to see Liu Changqing, Old Freak Hong, Xue Tianzhong, and two others—five late-stage Human Sovereign martial artists—lunging to finish off Chu Jinghai. Huang Ningbing was being shielded by Chu Jinghai, enveloped in his protective aura, but her life or death was uncertain.
A towering rage erupted in Qin Feng’s heart. With a thunderous roar, he launched a punch forward.
"Roar!"
"Roar!"
"Roar!"
As Qin Feng threw his punch, the vast, surging true energy within his body condensed into a colossal fist, carrying the combined power of ninety-nine Teng snakes as it blasted toward them.
"Boom!"
"Boom!"
The punch struck with incredible speed, slamming directly into Liu Changqing and Xue Tianzhong, shattering both of them into pieces.
"Run!"
"Flee!"
"Whoosh!"
Old Freak Hong and the remaining three late-stage Human Sovereign martial artists trembled, their eyes filled with terror and dread as they turned and scrambled to escape. The moment they saw Qin Feng, they felt as if they were being hunted by a primordial beast; they couldn't stop their bodies from shaking violently.
"Die!"
"All of you, die!"
Qin Feng let out a low growl. He stepped into the void, his body turning into a blur as he charged forward.
"Boom!"
Moving with blinding speed, Qin Feng caught up to Old Freak Hong in three breaths and threw a punch at his back.
"No!"
Old Freak Hong sensed the violent, boundless power descending upon him and let out a desperate shriek.
"Boom!"
Unable to withstand the raw, overwhelming force of Qin Feng’s strike, Old Freak Hong’s physical body was obliterated in an instant. He perished on the spot.
"Boom!"
"Boom!"
Qin Feng’s figure flickered, erupting with extreme velocity as he hunted down and pulverized the remaining Human Sovereign martial artists. With his current combat strength, killing late-stage Human Sovereigns was as effortless as blowing away dust.
"Break!"
Qin Feng locked his gaze on the final survivor. He stepped through the air, his body darting forward like a streak of lightning to close the distance.
"Stop!"
Qin Feng slammed his palm onto An Jibai’s shoulder, instantly halting his frantic flight. Without hesitation, he struck An Jibai’s dantian with a second palm. A fierce, violent surge of energy poured into the dantian, shattering it completely.
With a single blow, Qin Feng crippled An Jibai.
An Jibai’s eyes were filled with despair. With his dantian destroyed, his lifelong cultivation was reduced to nothing; he was now a broken man.
"Move!"
Qin Feng grabbed An Jibai like a dead dog and flew back toward Chu Jinghai and Huang Ningbing.
"Whoosh!"
"Withdraw!"
"The plan has failed! Withdraw!"
Wutian Xue, Zhou Bichang, and the other remaining late-stage Human Sovereigns watched in horror as Qin Feng slaughtered four of their peers in the blink of an eye. Overcome with awe and terror, they vanished into the crowd, fleeing the city as fast as they could. They wouldn't dare return to their previous hideouts; now that An Jibai had been captured, he would surely leak their secrets.
...
"Senior Chu, how are your injuries?"
Qin Feng first checked Huang Ningbing. Her injuries were severe, but not fatal, which allowed him to breathe a sigh of relief. He then turned his gaze to Chu Jinghai, his eyes filled with deep concern.
"Thud."
Having pushed himself to the limit, Chu Jinghai’s body gave way as his spirit finally relaxed. He lost consciousness and slumped toward the ground.
"Thud."
With a flick of his arm, Qin Feng knocked An Jibai unconscious and tossed him aside. Even without his cultivation, An Jibai’s physical body remained that of a Human Sovereign, so the impact did him no harm.
"Whoosh!"
Qin Feng scooped up Huang Ningbing, hoisted Chu Jinghai with one hand, and flew rapidly toward the Qin estate. He immediately ordered for Mr. Liu to be summoned, then dispatched Yan Chonghu and Shi Tie to notify the Imperial Palace to send the royal physicians.
After an examination, it was confirmed that Huang Ningbing’s injuries were grave but would heal with a hundred days of rest. As for Chu Jinghai, despite being struck by five late-stage Human Sovereigns, his formidable constitution as a Human Sovereign had kept him alive; he had merely fallen into a deep coma.
Reassured by the physicians, Qin Feng’s expression darkened as he walked toward the room where An Jibai was being held.
"Greetings, Supreme Qin."
"Greetings, Supreme Qin."
"Master Qin."
"Greetings, Master Qin."
Tian Junhou, Zuo Taoming, Yan Chonghu, and Liu Qingchang bowed respectfully as Qin Feng approached.
"How goes the interrogation?" Qin Feng asked, looking at An Jibai, who was bound to a torture rack.
"Reporting to Supreme Qin," Zuo Taoming replied, stepping forward with his hands cupped, "the interrogation is complete. Their goal was you. They intended to capture the Guild Leader, Huang, to threaten you and force you to surrender the techniques for breaking through to the realm above the Human Sovereign."
He handed a recorded ledger to Qin Feng.
"So that’s it!" Qin Feng’s eyes swept over the pages, his face growing grim as a terrifying murderous intent radiated from his body.
Tian Junhou and the others felt as though their spirits were freezing, their bodies trembling uncontrollably.
"Continue the interrogation," Qin Feng said, his voice icy. "I want to know every faction and every remaining martial artist involved. Record them all."
He didn't know why, but seeing Huang Ningbing comatose filled him with an unbearable pain. Now that he knew the truth, his heart was consumed by a desire for vengeance. He would hunt down every last faction and individual involved in this plot—not one would be left alive!
"As you command!" the men replied in unison, bowing deeply.
"Wang Fu, send out the order! Gather all precious ores and have them delivered to the Qin estate!"
Having checked on Huang Ningbing and Chu Jinghai once more, Qin Feng strode outside and issued his command to Wang Fu. He needed to increase his combat power. His own cultivation had just reached the mid-Human Sovereign stage and could not be advanced further for now. As for his divine ability, the *Great Sun Sacred War Art*, he was only a hair's breadth away from mastering it, yet that final insight remained elusive. The only way to grow stronger was to enhance the might of his Heaven-Shattering Halberd.
Since he had reached the mid-Human Sovereign stage, the ninety-thousand-catty halberd was no longer sufficient to channel his full potential. It had to be upgraded.
"At once, Young Master."
Wang Fu moved quickly, relaying Qin Feng’s command through the Imperial channels to all corners of the land. Hearing the request, every major faction in the Great Chu Empire—including the Imperial family itself—rushed to deliver vast quantities of ore. To curry favor with Qin Feng for the price of mere minerals was a bargain they were all too happy to make.
"Divine Ability: Heavenly Fiend Weapon-Devouring Art!"
Qin Feng sat cross-legged in the courtyard with his halberd resting across his lap. He channeled his true energy, pouring it into the divine runes.
