Jia Zhengjin packed up plenty of materials and constructed a watchtower at each of the four main gates—east, west, south, and north—of the outer wall.

The watchtowers stood over ten meters tall, with platforms at the top for surveillance. A long wooden rope ladder hung all the way down to the ground. The base featured a tower-like enclosure capable of accommodating a garrison of up to two hundred kobold soldiers.

In addition to soldiers, magical beasts could also be stationed as garrison units!

Each watchtower could house one magical beast, which neatly absorbed the four beasts they had previously captured, while freeing up the beast pen to continue taming new ones.

"Everyone, we're heading out for a hunt today!" Jia Zhengjin said to the four subordinates, including Zhuoma, after summoning the fake dragon at the mine.

With the four magical beasts and the fake dragon, there was no need to bring along any kobold troops. Consequently, the kobolds were split into two groups: one patrolled the outer perimeter of the Magical Beast Forest, while the other remained inside the city to patrol.

The town guards and the new crossbow squad were training separately, their morale currently running high.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Standing atop the head of the giant dragon, Jia Zhengjin flew the highest, leading the way and using the fake dragon's presence to scare off various packs of ferocious beasts.

Buddy, riding Kulu, flew relatively low, following closely behind the fake dragon.

Zhuoma, Wolf, and Karl galloped across the ground on a manticore, a frost spider, and a money rat respectively, barely managing to keep up with the flying speed.

With the four magical beasts surrounding the city having been captured, no new ones would immediately take their places in the short term. Therefore, they had to venture far away from the city in order to find new magical beasts.

Searching from high altitude was the best method, allowing everything on the ground to be seen with absolute clarity.

Five people, one fake dragon, and four magical beasts traveled for over half an hour before plunging deep into the heart of the jungle.

Jia Zhengjin's eyes suddenly lit up, and he directed the dragon to dive downward.

Buddy, Zhuoma, Wolf, and Karl immediately converged on his location.

"Lord Keane, have you spotted any magical beasts?" Zhuoma shouted, looking up at Jia Zhengjin who was hovering at a low altitude.

"Not a magical beast!" Jia Zhengjin replied with a face full of excitement. "It's a Flomikou! Take it down for me immediately!"

Though they had no idea why Lord Keane was so excited, Zhuoma, Buddy, and the other three swiftly urged their mounts forward at top speed.

Sure enough, they soon spotted a deformed monster with a cat's face and a snake's body. It was fleeing desperately, driven to sheer terror by the overwhelming aura of the fake dragon and the four magical beasts.

"Roar—!" The fake dragon let out a roar, sweeping swiftly across the sky and landing firmly right in the path of the fleeing Flomikou.

"Roar—!" The Flomikou immediately and vividly mimicked the roar of a giant dragon. The four Tier-1 magical beasts in pursuit were startled, instantly hesitating and stopping in their tracks.

Seizing the opportunity, the Flomikou abruptly changed direction and bolted toward the startled magical beasts, attempting to break through their formation and escape!

However, while the magical beasts were frightened, Zhuoma and the others felt not a shred of fear! Having already learned what this creature was, they immediately dismounted and readied themselves for battle.

"Do not let it get away under any circumstances!" Jia Zhengjin shouted sternly.

"Swish!" The four of them instantly surrounded the Flomikou from all sides.

"Whoosh!" Eyeing the four figures closing in on him, the Flomikou suddenly lunged at Wolf the werewolf.

"Slash!" Wolf decisively unsheathed the sharp claws on his hands, raking them across the monster's face.

Instantly bathed in blood and thoroughly startled, the Flomikou turned around, only to see Karl flashing similar claws. Palpitating with lingering fear, it changed direction once more and charged toward Buddy's side.

These four were elite fighters, utterly incomparable to mere kobolds or clumsy triceratops. Thus, compared to their very first encounter with a Flomikou, this battle was infinitely easier.

"Ascendant Slash!" Facing the oncoming Flomikou, Buddy unleashed a powerful ultimate move, sending a wave of sword energy straight at the creature.

"Thud!!" The sword energy struck the Flomikou dead-on, sending blood spraying into the air.

"Earth-Clearing Axe!!" Zhuoma leaped high into the air, gripping a massive axe and bringing it down with all his might onto the Flomikou's head.

"Kamaliki~~" The Flomikou let out a cry for help, but those who knew its true nature were no longer fooled.

"Boom!!" The giant axe instantly cleaved the Flomikou's head from its body.

[Notification] Zhuoma has slain a Flomikou. You have gained 500 experience points!

[Notification] You have discovered 3 Lesser Mana Recovery Potions!

[Notification] You have discovered "Travels of the Majestic Empire: Vol. 1"!

[Notification] You have discovered "Rock Spike Technique"!

He already possessed the catapult blueprint, so this one was completely redundant!

The gem necklace was of ordinary quality, granting +5% magical attack power and +4 intelligence; Tina was already wearing a fine-quality one with far superior attributes!

The lesser knowledge potion was precisely what Jia Zhengjin had been hoping for, and acquiring a moderate knowledge potion as well came as a pleasant surprise!

"Travels of the Majestic Empire: Vol. 1" appeared to be a diary-style book, though he had no idea who had authored it. He tucked it away for now to read later once they returned.

"Rock Spike Technique" was another magic spell. Why did he keep unearthing Tina's skill books lately? General skill books that he could actually learn himself seemed to have stopped dropping altogether! Had his luck run dry?

After harvesting the Flomikou's corpse, Jia Zhengjin told Zhuoma and the other three, "Keep watch over me for a moment while I drink some potions!"

His four subordinates immediately formed a protective circle around him, scanning their surroundings with vigilant eyes.

Jia Zhengjin unscrewed the cap of the lesser knowledge potion and chugged it down in one go.

True to form, the familiar hallucination instantly overwhelmed him. He found himself trapped inside a small, enclosed room, his mind ringing with a cacophony of chaotic noises. Then, a series of bizarre visions materialized as invisible entities began imparting knowledge directly to him.

Though he spent what felt like an entire day trapped in the illusion, only a single instant had passed by the time he opened his eyes!

This time, what surfaced in Jia Zhengjin's mind was the elementary Elven language. Even the ethereal figures teaching him the language within the illusion turned out to be breathtakingly beautiful elves.

Jia Zhengjin felt a twinge of confusion. He had never once laid eyes on a real elf in reality, so why were their images in his hallucinations so vivid and lifelike?

Harboring this puzzle, he uncapped the moderate knowledge potion, downed it in a single breath, and plunged once more into the realm of illusions.

"Roar~!" The moment he entered the hallucinatory world, he found himself surrounded on all sides by beast-headed monsters, intermingled with strange races that looked human yet bore distinct beastly traits. This terrifying army of creatures rushed toward him from every direction, dissolving into a barrage of roars and bizarre sounds that flooded his mind.

This was the language of the Orc Empire! As he felt a massive influx of knowledge surging into his brain, Jia Zhengjin was suddenly struck by a splitting headache.

He snapped his eyes open, and the illusion vanished! A brand-new language had genuinely embedded itself in his mind, and his fluency was far greater than it had been with the previous two.

Would this count as being fluent in three foreign languages now? A strange thought flickered through Jia Zhengjin's mind.
