Being surrounded by three beauties for dinner was actually quite an enjoyable experience.

Though Perine belonged to the category of emotionless beauties, showing no expression whatsoever.

After eating and drinking his fill, Jia Zhengjin habitually began to tidy up his own bowl and chopsticks. To his surprise, Christina stood up against her usual demeanor and said, "Let me do it!"

"Huh?" Seeing Christina taking the initiative to help him, Jia Zhengjin felt somewhat unaccustomed to it. "It's fine, I can do it myself!"

"No worries! I'll clean up," Christina insisted firmly.

Although he wasn't quite used to it, Jia Zhengjin was genuinely exhausted today, so he let her be.

Having survived the fierce battle with the army ants, he had no desire to level up his manufacturing skills tonight and simply wanted to turn in early to rest and rebuild his strength.

"Tina, I'm heading to bed first!" Jia Zhengjin left the dining table and walked up the stairs.

"Okay, Gene!" Tina said from downstairs. "Do you need me to scrub your back?"

"That works too!" Jia Zhengjin was just planning to take a comfortable cold shower, and upon hearing this, he happily replied. Perhaps he could even take a bath with his wife.

Entering the bathroom, he filled the tub with water, stripped off his clothes, and stepped inside. Instantly, his body and mind felt thoroughly relaxed.

He couldn't help tilting his head back and closing his eyes, feeling the chilling water stimulate all the acupuncture points on his body.

While he was resting with his eyes closed, light footsteps entered the bathroom, followed immediately by a pair of soft, small hands gently massaging his temples.

"Mmm~" Jia Zhengjin let out a comfortable groan. "A little more pressure..."

The pressure on his hands increased slightly, and the gentle movements made his drowsiness deepen even further.

Sensing that Tina's technique had become unfamiliar, Jia Zhengjin opened his eyes. "Tina... What the heck!"

The moment he opened his eyes, the person before him was not his wife at all, but Christina. Terrified, he instantly sat up straight, bending forward to hug his knees tightly.

"Lord Gene, did I press too hard?" Christina asked, looking somewhat flustered, thinking she had made a mistake.

"No!" Jia Zhengjin shook his head frantically. "Why is it you? Where is Tina?"

"Lady Tina is cleaning up the leftovers and asked me to come help you first!" Christina explained.

"I'm not wearing any clothes, get out of here right now!" Jia Zhengjin waved his hands awkwardly. "If Tina is busy, you can send Perine over instead!"

"Why? Because I didn't do a good job?" Christina looked a bit saddened. "I'm sorry, but I only just started learning."

"That's not the issue, alright?" Jia Zhengjin submerged himself completely in the water, leaving only his head exposed. "Don't you feel shy seeing a naked man?"

"Shy?" Christina asked with pure innocence. "What does that feel like?"

Jia Zhengjin: "..."

"Lord Gene, why is it something Lady Tina can do, but Christina cannot?" Christina was genuinely puzzled.

Jia Zhengjin was utterly defeated. "Tina is my wife, and you're not! Get out right away! Why are you still standing there?"

"Oh~" Christina nodded, blinking in confusion as she walked out of the bathroom.

"Phew—!" Seeing her leave, Jia Zhengjin finally breathed a sigh of relief. Just as he was about to stand up and shut the door, Christina turned around again, causing him to quickly squat back down into the bathtub. "What is it now?"

"Lord Gene, when I saw you just now, my face felt really hot, my heart beat so fast, and I felt extremely nervous!" Christina asked softly. "Is that love?"

"It's because I wasn't wearing any clothes!! Are you an idiot?!!" Jia Zhengjin shouted in frustration.

"Then why did Lord Gene not wearing clothes make me feel this way? How strange!"

"Get out!!!" Jia Zhengjin was practically driven crazy, shouting at the top of his lungs, "Tina—!!"

Hearing the clearly angry voice coming from upstairs, Tina stuck out her cute little tongue. "Gene seems to be angry again. What should we do?"

Perine: "..."

"This is bad! If we go up now, we'll definitely get chewed out mercilessly," Tina said with a worried expression. "Perine, how about we stay at my parents' house tonight?"

Perine: "..."

"Tina!! Did you hear me?" Jia Zhengjin felt that he really needed to properly educate his young wife. Even though they had agreed on everything beforehand, it went in one ear and out the other, and she kept filling Christina's head with all sorts of nonsense.

Just at that moment, a sharp alarm from a Kobold patroller rang out sharply from outside: "Awoo~~!!"

"Monster siege?!" Jia Zhengjin was startled; this was far too sudden!

He hastily climbed out of the tub, not even caring that he was dripping wet, threw on his clothes, and rushed hurriedly downstairs.

"Gene, what's wrong?" Tina was fretting over what to do, and this alarm bell came just in time to rescue her.

Seeing his wife putting on an act of feigning ignorance, Jia Zhengjin reached out, grabbed her face, and rubbed it messily. "You disobedient little imp!"

"Mmm-mmm~ I was wrong~" Tina was always quick to admit her faults, but she would forget them just as fast.

Jia Zhengjin truly didn't know what to say to her anymore. He could only shake his head helplessly and say, "Stay obediently at home. I'll settle accounts with you when I get back!"

"Come home early!" Tina leaned in, kissed him on the cheek, and said with a cheeky smile.

There was truly no way for him to stay mad at her.

Rushing swiftly to the inner city wall, he found that Dama, Wolf, Karl, Buddy, Labi, as well as the town guards and the newly formed crossbow unit, had all arrived. Meanwhile, the sounding Kobold patroller was howling continuously near the outer city wall.

The outer city wall lacked guard towers, and pitch-black darkness enveloped the surroundings, making nighttime relatively perilous.

"What kind of monsters are coming?" Jia Zhengjin asked immediately upon arrival.

"We don't know!" Dama shook his head. "It's too dark right now, nobody dared to venture out and check."

"Awoo~~!" As they were speaking, the Kobold patroller seemed thoroughly terrified, whipped around in a panicked flight, and dashed back into the inner city. Town guards immediately rushed forward to slam the city gates shut.

"Boom!!" The outer city wall seemed to have been breached, followed immediately by a low, muffled growl: "Ugh~~"

The sound closely resembled monsters from horror games, causing Jia Zhengjin to frown instantly. "Everyone, prepare for battle!"

Because he had no idea how many were coming or what species they were, anxiety was inevitable.

"Ugh~" The sound drew progressively closer. The inner city wall area was relatively much brighter because, as the primary defense network, torches were placed along practically every section. Although the firelight was somewhat dim, it was still enough to illuminate things beneath the wall.

The main issue was that the moon was obscured by dark clouds tonight; otherwise, moonlight would have brightened the vicinity of the city even more.

As the creature making the strange noises finally entered the illumination range of the torches, Jia Zhengjin was startled. "A zombie?! But why do these clothes look so familiar? And there's only one—I thought it was a massive monster siege!"

"Hey! Isn't that Alex's outfit?" Buddy beside him suddenly exclaimed.

"Alex?" Jia Zhengjin looked closely, and indeed it was! But wasn't he eaten by that strange man-eating flower? Why had he turned into a zombie? Could it be that the man-eating flower couldn't digest him? "What the hell! Could it be that those man-eating flowers are specially designed to manufacture zombies?"
