Chapter 29: Cosmic Scroll, The Supreme Visualization Technique
All the world knows that the Dao De Jing was written by the sage Laozi.
It is divided into two parts, containing eighty-one chapters.
Yet few are aware of a deeper truth:
The genuine, complete Dao De Jing consists of one hundred and eight chapters.
Its true essence lies within the twenty-seven additional chapters, which contain the fundamental principles of the cosmos, making it the supreme method of visualization.
The so-called visualization method is this: after thoroughly studying the meaning of the scripture, one is moved in heart and mind, visualizing the myriad phenomena of heaven and earth, thereby attaining clarity in all things.
From this foundation, one discovers the path to transcendence of life.
If one likens the ordinary visualization method to a lantern held in the hand, illuminating only a small portion of the road ahead, and proceeds with cautious steps to avoid straying during the journey of self-evolution—
Then the complete Dao De Jing is akin to raising a brilliant sun upon that path of evolution, opening a grand, broad avenue, so that one's goals are perfectly clear.
No matter how one walks, never will one stray.
Such is the unmatched power of the supreme method of visualization; nothing compares.
"The last mighty figure to possess the complete Dao De Jing became invincible through its power, traversing the realms beyond. Yet it is said that after many years of contemplation, that great being had only barely entered the doorway, never fully comprehending its mysteries. I wonder, with the blessing of a billionfold talent, how long it will take for me."
Gazing at the ancient tome in his hands, Lu Yuan fell into deep thought.
In his memory, that mighty figure was hailed as peerless in talent, a hero of his era.
Had Lu Yuan not succeeded in merging with the ancient Bodhi tree and gained the blessing of a billionfold talent, he would never have dared to bring forth this scripture.
For it is exceedingly difficult, requiring the highest insight; to force it without such would be counterproductive.
Now, Lu Yuan held the complete Dao De Jing in his hands.
He opened it directly.
Character after character appeared before his eyes.
Yet these were written in oracle bone script, and he recognized almost none.
But since it was a visualization method, it was enough to grasp the meaning, not necessary to know each word by heart.
Besides, with his billionfold talent, whether he recognized the script or not, it made no difference.
He began from the first chapter, very carefully, not missing a single character, reading with calm and concentration.
Unknowingly, his thoughts became utterly still, forgetting all sense of time.
Only when he turned the last page did he gradually return to himself.
In that moment,
Lu Yuan's gaze was strange.
It was not a lack of understanding; on the contrary, he comprehended it all, thoroughly and completely, and every word was etched in his mind.
He glanced at the time: only three days had passed.
Three days—
He had accomplished what took that great figure years to achieve.
"Could it be false? No, it must be real. The heart of the visualization method is in the insight, perhaps that is where the difficulty lies." Lu Yuan felt it almost too simple, so simple as to be unbelievable, suspecting that memorizing it was not the real challenge.
At once, he put the ancient book away and closed his eyes.
The Dao De Jing expounds the universal principles of heaven and earth, the ultimate truth of the cosmos.
Thus, what he needed to do was to match the text with his mind, imagining a universe within his thoughts, observing its laws.
And as soon as he settled his mind, he found that everything around him changed once more.
Lu Yuan saw himself seated amid the river of stars, before him lay countless brilliant galaxies, within them great stars spinning in the void, forming and perishing in turn.
In the distance, supernovae exploded, forming black holes that devoured all, while a small planet burst forth with terrifying heat, like a newborn star.
The scene was dazzling, as if witnessing the birth and death of stars, the trajectory of the universe itself.
All was vivid before his eyes.
The myriad radiant stars cast their own unique glows, breathing life into the barren cosmos, revealing infinite truths.
It was a vast and boundless panorama, depicting the ultimate secrets of all things!
And Lu Yuan roamed within it.
He was like a witness, watching all beginnings and endings.
Thunderous!
Stars ruptured, roaring as they broke apart.
Streams of starlight surged ceaselessly into his body at that moment.
Lu Yuan could clearly sense that the longer he visualized, the stronger his power became.
Within him, it was as if a universe had formed.
Boom!
In the next instant,
Lu Yuan opened his eyes, gasping for breath, cold sweat beading on his brow.
Yet when he checked his own condition, he was shocked.
In that brief moment,
He had advanced from the initial eighth rank straight to the ninth, his internal power surging restlessly, blood coursing through his veins like a raging torrent, his vital energy boiling as if a true dragon was ready to burst forth.
His physical body had ascended to a new level.
In his mind, the innate soul shimmered with even brighter golden light.
His form was far more robust than before.
Body and soul—
Both transformed in that moment!
"The Dao De Jing is the supreme visualization method for refining the soul and tempering the body. So, have I truly grasped it?"
Lu Yuan was astounded; how could it be so quick, when even the greatest could barely comprehend this supreme method?
He had nearly mastered it in a short time.
Was it a fluke?
No!
With the blessing of a billionfold talent, his aptitude had reached a terrifying level.
In this moment, Lu Yuan was not only shocked by his own talent, but also by the power of the complete Dao De Jing—one visualization had elevated both body and soul. Such speed was unheard of in his previous life.
It was simply astonishing, like a myth.
If he persisted with this visualization,
His strength could shake the stars, his soul commune with the divine, walking among the heavens with supreme majesty—within reach.
Previously,
He had worried
whether the divine relics he had gathered were truly as legendary as claimed.
Now not only were they so, but had even surpassed his expectations.
The supreme path
was not merely a goal—it was entirely attainable!
"If I can unlock the true power of all the divine relics, how strong will I be when I emerge?"
Involuntarily, Lu Yuan looked at the nine remaining divine relics. Indeed, not all of them could directly enhance his strength or continuously evolve his body, but they were more than sufficient.
After visualizing the universe, he had gained immense benefit.
But it had also placed great strain upon his soul, so he realized that using this visualization method consumed spiritual energy.
He could persist, but there was no need to rush; time was abundant, there was no need for haste.
The important thing was to advance his strength further in a short period.
He knew
that now Lu Yuan was only a step away from the second awakening realm!
He paused to think, then fixed his gaze on another divine relic.
The Elevenfold Blood Pagoda.
Merging it into his body would make his internal organs as resilient as divine metal, indestructible!
Lu Yuan's body was already mighty—bullets, even small explosives, posed no threat. Yet his organs remained relatively vulnerable; if someone had a special method to attack them directly, it would be hard to defend.
But if he fused with this relic, he could attain the legendary state of unity within and without.
Moreover,
Within the Elevenfold Blood Pagoda was a special power.
He could use it to reach the awakening realm directly.
He acted at once.
Lu Yuan took a deep breath, placed the relic before him, and began!
