Although they attended the same school, Luo Yixia started two years later and was assigned to the new campus. For a whole year, she hadn’t seen Song Chengyi even once at the main campus. Just thinking about it made her feel frustrated.

Afraid that Song Chengyi might latch onto her and not let go, Luo Yixia quickly changed the subject.
“I heard the new and old campuses are merging this semester.”

“Mm, we’ve started moving classrooms recently,” Song Chengyi nodded.

“Really?” Luo Yixia’s interest was immediately piqued, her eyes sparkling as she looked at him.
Although Yanyan’s words were convincing, hearing it from Song Chengyi himself made her feel even more certain.
Wonderful, Luo Yixia thought to herself.

Of course, Song Chengyi knew exactly what Luo Yixia was thinking. He, too, felt relieved; back then, seeing her grades, he hadn’t expected her to get into this university. She’d surprised him, but at least they ended up at the same school—though he hadn’t anticipated her luck would be so poor.

“Oh, by the way, did you know there’ll be military training at the start of the semester?” Song Chengyi reminded her.

“Yeah, I heard that. Apparently the whole school participates,” Luo Yixia nodded.

“This time it seems like it’ll be a big event. We’re heading out into the wild, so you should prepare plenty of mosquito repellents and such. There are lots of bugs outside.”

“In the past, it was always the seniors watching the freshmen suffer. Now, unexpectedly, the seniors are joining the freshmen in their misery,” Luo Yixia said with a pitiful expression.

Song Chengyi curled his lips but didn’t respond.

Luo Yixia continued, “You don’t know—last year during military training, the sophomores lined up outside and ate watermelon right in front of us. I remember thinking, next year I’ll get to watch the new freshmen like that. Who knew... sob sob sob.”

“Is that so? It wasn’t like that when we had military training. There were plenty of people watching, but quite a few senior girls bought watermelons for us to eat,” Song Chengyi replied.

Luo Yixia muttered softly, “Probably not for everyone, just for you... Being good-looking has its perks.”

Song Chengyi heard her, but didn’t deny it. It was true enough.

The two of them walked around the neighborhood two more times. Usually, many people were out for walks, but tonight, dinner had been delayed by Luo Yixia’s cooking, so they ate late, and the streets were nearly empty.

Streetlights illuminated every corner, but Luo Yixia eyed the dark flowerbeds with trepidation and edged closer to Song Chengyi.

By the time they returned, Luo Yixia was covered in sweat.

“I’m exhausted! Who knew a walk could be so tiring...” she complained.

“You haven’t exercised in ages—that’s why you feel tired,” Song Chengyi pointed out bluntly.

Luo Yixia wrinkled her nose, glanced disdainfully at Song Chengyi, who still looked fresh and composed, and snorted, “I’m going to shower.”

She grabbed the new pajamas she’d bought from the wardrobe, slipped into her slippers, and headed for the bathroom, the sound of her footsteps echoing.

Song Chengyi seemed used to all her little quirks by now.

Not long after, Luo Yixia emerged from her shower, dressed in her new pink cartoon nightgown—there was a cute white rabbit on the front. She bounced over to Song Chengyi, stretched out her hands, and grinned, “Phone.”

Song Chengyi, helpless, handed her the phone and then got up, preparing to shower himself.

Luo Yixia, phone in hand, happily flopped onto the bed. After all, they’d gotten used to this—yesterday they’d already slept together, so tonight... she might as well sleep again.
