Song Chengyi waited outside the campus, and Gan Yanyan helped Luo Yixia out to meet him.

"Xiaxia, I'll head back now. You take good care of yourself, you hear?" Gan Yanyan said, offering a concerned reminder after letting go of her arm.

"I will take good care of her," Song Chengyi said, pulling Luo Yixia toward him.

Luo Yixia waved with a smile, "It's fine, don't worry."

Song Chengyi had initially been walking beside her, but seeing how much she struggled with each step, he eventually crouched down in front of her. Luo Yixia paused for only a fleeting moment before happily climbing onto his back.

Song Chengyi smelled faintly of sweat, but to Luo Yixia, it was not unpleasant. She obediently wrapped her arms around his neck and rested her chin on his shoulder.

"Are you tired?" Song Chengyi asked softly.

"Pfft," Luo Yixia chuckled, her shoulders shaking slightly. "That’s a question I should be asking you."

"I'm not tired," he replied.

"Song Chengyi, why are you so good to me? I feel like I'm becoming more and more unable to live without you." As she spoke, she nuzzled against his neck like a kitten.

"Then be a good girl and listen to me," Song Chengyi said. Although his tone was serious, his heart had already softened completely.

"I will be good," Luo Yixia nodded.

As Song Chengyi carried her down the street, many passersby kept looking their way. For once, Luo Yixia felt a blush rising and buried her face in his broad back.

"What do you want to eat tonight?" Song Chengyi carried her all the way home and carefully placed her on the sofa. At that moment, Luo Yixia looked like a fragile porcelain doll, receiving extra care and attention.

"Let's have noodles. Anything is fine, I just want something light." Luo Yixia had a habit: whenever she was exhausted, she lost all appetite.

Song Chengyi ended up cooking two bowls of simple, light broth noodles. Luo Yixia managed only half a bowl before she couldn't eat anymore. She sat on the sofa, watching television. Now that the noise of the day had faded, her focus narrowed, and the pain in her knees seemed to intensify, as if magnified. Still, it wasn't anything too serious; she had grown accustomed to such things—this was, after all, the third time it had happened. She would just have to endure it until it passed.

After washing the dishes, Song Chengyi came over and found her completely engrossed in the TV.

"You exerted yourself a lot today. Do you want to take a shower?" He was actually worried about her; if she showered, she would need to be careful with her legs.

"I do want to shower. Let me go get my pajamas." She started to hop up.

"Don't move around," he said, heading into the bedroom. He grabbed a set of pajamas from the closet and "incidentally" picked up her undergarments as well. Seeing how hard it was for her to walk, he simply scooped her up into his arms again and carried her to the bathroom.

"It's alright, I can do it myself..." Luo Yixia said, her face flushing as she took the clothes from him.

"Why are you blushing? I didn't say I was going to help you wash, did I?" Song Chengyi teased, finding her adorable.

"Get out," she urged, pushing him away.

Song Chengyi laughed, walked out, and closed the door. "Call me if you need anything."

Luo Yixia stared at the closed door. Since when did her "god-like" man become so brazen? But still, how was she supposed to handle him being so charming?

Song Chengyi didn't actually go far; he stayed right outside, worried she might have an accident or fall in there, and also to be ready to carry her out. Before long, the bathroom door opened, and Luo Yixia poked her head out. She looked surprised to find him still standing there.

"What's wrong?" Song Chengyi asked, noticing she had changed into her pajamas; she must have finished.

"Could you... help me wash my hair? It's not convenient for me..." she whispered, feeling embarrassed to ask.

Song Chengyi curled his lips into a smile. "Alright."

Luo Yixia opened the door fully, revealing the steam-filled room. Song Chengyi had her sit in the bathtub and tilted her head back to rinse her hair. She had been moving very carefully during her shower because her right leg couldn't bear weight, forcing her to rely on her left; she had been terrified of slipping while trying to wash her hair.

It was the first time in his life that Song Chengyi had washed a woman's hair, and he couldn't quite describe the feeling. Her hair had been cut shoulder-length recently, and she had tied it up earlier, likely because of the running. Song Chengyi reached out with his slender fingers, gently pulled off the hair tie, and subconsciously slipped it onto his own wrist. He then wetted her hair and applied shampoo.

"Tell me if I'm being too rough."

"Mhm." Even though she was looking up and he was hovering above her, she didn't dare to make eye contact, instead casting her gaze elsewhere. Song Chengyi was extremely careful, afraid of hurting her or even pulling out her hair. It took over twenty minutes to finish. Luo Yixia thought that if she still had her long hair, it would have taken him an hour.

When Song Chengyi helped her up, she felt dizzy from having kept her head tilted back for so long and nearly stumbled. Fortunately, Song Chengyi was quick to catch her. He provided full-service care, even blow-drying her hair afterward.

Luo Yixia leaned back on the bed, feeling relieved, and checked her phone. In this era of rapidly developing information technology, even the most trivial things spread quickly. She opened the videos from earlier today and saw they had already surpassed a million views. Was she about to become famous? It was depressing. However, seeing the comments filled with people envious of her made her feel a bit better.

She sighed softly, closed her phone, and thought that she should maintain the same courage she had when she first pursued Song Chengyi. In truth, she shouldn't have hidden anything from the start; a day like this was bound to come sooner or later. She closed her eyes, resting against the pillow.

Hearing footsteps, she opened her eyes the moment he entered and immediately beamed at him. Song Chengyi was holding anti-inflammatory medicine and a glass of water.

"Take your medicine, then come here. Let me apply the ointment," he said, sitting on the edge of the bed.

Luo Yixia obediently swallowed the pills. Song Chengyi took her ankle, rested it on his lap, and began cleaning the wound with alcohol before applying the medicine. The scene was all too familiar—she couldn't even remember how many times this had happened. Song Chengyi was always very skilled at this, quickly cleaning the wound, yet Luo Yixia still found it quite painful.

When Song Chengyi looked up, he saw her eyes were red, and he couldn't help but laugh, reaching out to pinch her cheek. "Why are you crying?"

"I'm not."

"Does it hurt that much?"

"You know I'm afraid of pain, don't you?" she complained, giving him a look.

Song Chengyi sighed slowly and muttered something strangely, "You're so afraid of pain, maybe we should just forget it..."

"Huh?" Luo Yixia didn't understand. Forget what? But looking at his expression, he didn't seem willing to elaborate.

Song Chengyi looked at the silly girl in front of him, truly worried about what might happen if he couldn't hold back one day. She was so afraid of pain. In the past, he had always held back, thinking she wasn't ready, or that they hadn't reached that stage yet. If they had, he wouldn't know how to explain the past—even though nothing had actually happened, they were already legally married.

Back then, he felt there was no rush to let her know how he felt. But as they spent more time together, Song Chengyi realized he truly, deeply liked her—he was becoming inseparable from her.

He sat beside her, both of them scrolling through their phones. Luo Yixia, however, was absent-minded, lost in thought. Earlier, he had mentioned that she had a competition today, so... did that mean tonight would be...

Luo Yixia snuck a few glances at him, then lowered her head, secretly scolding herself for letting her mind wander. As it turned out, this kind of thing was addictive; some rather unharmonious images kept playing in her mind. Her face grew hot, and her heart raced. *Oh, Luo Yixia, you have no self-control.*

"What's wrong? Why is your face so red? Are you not feeling well?" Song Chengyi asked, looking at her.

"Ah? No... nothing," she stammered.

"Let me see." He reached out to turn her face toward him.

"Ow, it hurts!" Luo Yixia suddenly cried out.

"What's wrong?" Song Chengyi let go in a panic, looking very tense.

Luo Yixia clutched her shoulder. Song Chengyi reached out to pull back her collar, and there, he saw that her shoulder was bruised purple.

"Why didn't you tell me you were hurt?" he asked, clearly agitated. She hadn't mentioned her shoulder at all.

"It's nothing, I just fell on it too. It's fine, it doesn't hurt much anymore." She tried to pull her clothes back; being tugged like that felt strange. When she fell that afternoon, she knew she had landed on her shoulder at the same time as her legs, but with Tang Heng present at the infirmary, she hadn't known how to say it. She had been careful while showering, and it hadn't been too painful, but Song Chengyi had accidentally pressed on it just now.

Song Chengyi didn't let her move. He pressed his thumb gently against the spot, massaging it.

"Sss," Luo Yixia hissed.

Song Chengyi didn't know what came over him; he looked completely serious, and she watched as he leaned down slowly and pressed his lips to the bruise. Luo Yixia felt her heart skip a beat.

Song Chengyi looked up, locking eyes with her.

"S—Song Chengyi." As soon as she said his name, he couldn't hold back anymore and kissed her. One hand pressed against the back of her head. By the time she realized what was happening, she had already been pushed onto the bed.

Luo Yixia felt as if he had been provoked. She had expected everything to proceed naturally, but in the end, Song Chengyi suddenly paused, pulled away, and turned his back to her.

*Wh—what’s wrong?*

Luo Yixia was left dizzy from his kiss. Why was he suddenly angry and ignoring her? She poked his back. He still didn't respond.

"Song Chengyi... are you angry?" she asked cautiously.

"No. Go to sleep," he said coldly.

But Luo Yixia knew he was definitely angry, and it seemed to have started when he saw the injury on her shoulder, after which he lost control of his emotions. Was he angry because she hadn't told him?
