Song Chengyi used to be a man of great self-discipline and hygiene, but now he had completely changed. He used to avoid street food vendors at all costs, but now he was completely accustomed to it.

When Song Zeming drove Luo Yixia back to school, Song Chengyi thought it best to sit beside her, feeling that he might still be able to save him. He noticed that even while sitting in the car, Luo Yixia tightly clutched several bags in her hands.

Song Chengyi looked at her meaningfully and couldn’t help but sigh.

“These have no nutritional value.”

“I know, that’s why I bought them for our group of girlfriends. These snacks make you feel fiery inside, so I’m hoping they all get pimples tomorrow, and I’ll be the only beautiful one left in the dorm,” Luo Yixia said, shaking her head playfully.

Song Chengyi twitched the corner of his mouth.

The driver, Song Zeming, couldn’t help but laugh. “Plastic sisters?”

“Exactly,” Luo Yixia nodded vigorously.

Song Chengyi had a whole lot of lectures ready, but Luo Yixia’s one sentence shut him up completely, leaving him momentarily speechless.

After about ten minutes, the car arrived at the main gate of A University.

“Then I’ll head back to the dorm first?” Luo Yixia said as she got out, about to wave goodbye.

But she saw Song Chengyi stride out after her.

“I’ll walk her downstairs,” Song Chengyi said to Song Zeming in the driver’s seat, then took out a black cap and put it on.

“Okay, I’ll wait here,” Song Zeming nodded.

Luo Yixia was about to say she could walk by herself, that she knew the way perfectly well, but Song Chengyi insistently pulled her along.

The two strolled along the school’s main avenue.

Luo Yixia felt her face burning; she hadn’t even eaten any of the snacks yet, so why did she already feel a little lightheaded?

“It’s late, no drinking alcohol now,” Song Chengyi said, taking a few steps with her, noticing her fingers felt cool but clenched tightly.

Luo Yixia glanced around to see if any students were nearby. It was almost eleven at night, and everyone had returned to their dorms. Besides, Song Chengyi had worn a cap, so no one should recognize him.

“I ate enough tonight; why would I drink?” Luo Yixia laughed heartily.

Song Chengyi gave her a long look, seeing right through her little thoughts.

Luo Yixia just chuckled and thought to herself, “Hurry up and walk faster—I don’t want my skewers and crayfish to get cold; they won’t taste good then.”

She tilted her head slightly, looking at Song Chengyi beside her. Half his face was shadowed by the cap, hiding his eyes, revealing only his sharp chin. Song Chengyi’s profile was handsome; even just his chin was enough to drive Luo Yixia crazy.

The two reached the dormitory entrance; the area was deserted, and the building was quiet, unlike the noisy daytime.

When it came time to part, Luo Yixia was reluctant to let go of the warmth in her palm.

“Go up,” Song Chengyi stopped walking.

“Okay, bye,” Luo Yixia said cautiously, slowly loosening her grip.

The moment she released his hand, she immediately grabbed it back and tugged him sharply toward herself.

Song Chengyi was caught off guard and was pulled closer.

Luo Yixia stood on her tiptoes, leaned forward, and pressed her lips lightly against his.

The kiss was brief; she quickly pulled away, revealing a bright smile with a dimple prominently showing.

“Bye, rest early,” she said and didn’t wait for a reply before running inside through the open door.

Song Chengyi watched her retreating figure and couldn’t help but smile; this was serious now—she was stealing kisses.

Luo Yixia stood at the stairwell inside the dorm, covering her face in embarrassment.

Just then, the dorm supervisor poked her head out.

“Xia,” she called.

Luo Yixia looked up and called out, “Auntie, you’re still up so late?”

The girls in Luo Yixia’s dorm were all sweet-talking and polite to the dorm supervisor, always remembering to bring her some fruit when they had some. The supervisor took good care of them in return.

“Sleep? No, I’m waiting to lock the doors for you all. Xiao Linhai came by especially to tell me to leave the door open for you. Out late with your boyfriend?” the supervisor asked with a smile.

Luo Yixia smiled and nodded.

“That guy outside just now was your boyfriend, right? He looks quite spirited,” the supervisor said, having just overheard their conversation and glanced through the window.

“Right? Isn’t he handsome? He’s very good-looking,” Luo Yixia praised him eagerly, knowing the supervisor didn’t recognize Song Chengyi anyway.

“You’re much more successful than the others in your dorm. Look at the others, all paired up, and you’re the only one still single,” the supervisor said with a sigh of pity.

Luo Yixia was amused and a little speechless.

“Auntie, I have skewers and crayfish here. Would you like some?” Luo Yixia held up the two large bags.

The supervisor shook her head repeatedly. “Not at this hour. You young ones have so much energy. No, no, go upstairs quickly. I’m waiting for you to come back so I can lock the door. I’ll watch a couple of episodes of my drama and then sleep.”

“All right, Auntie, good night. I’m going up,” Luo Yixia called as she climbed the stairs briskly.

The dorm was on the fourth floor. Not very high, but running up in one go was tiring.

Lin Ya often complained about the school being stingy, not installing an elevator, making her legs thin from running up and down so often.

By the time Luo Yixia reached room 406, she was exhausted, leaning on the door and knocking twice.

“Who is it?” came the voice of Gan Yanyan from inside.

Luo Yixia was too tired to speak, still catching her breath.

Gan Yanyan, wearing a face mask, opened the door and saw Luo Yixia looking worn out. “Oh, look who’s back? You still know how to come back?”

“Stop chattering. I’ve got something good,” Luo Yixia said, handing over the bags.

Gan Yanyan’s eyes lit up. “Xia Xia, I love you! You still remember us.”

The other two girls gathered around when they saw the bags.

They all gathered with plastic bags and began eating crayfish.

Luo Yixia sipped water.

After a few bites, she also joined the circle.

“You’re not eating more, why squeeze in?” Lin Ya said muffled through food.

“Do you know how hard it was for me to bring this stuff back? I used every means to get it. Can’t I have a few bites myself?”

Luo Yixia’s “few bites” ended up being a third of the food.

Xu Jiayu didn’t eat much, fearing indigestion, and Lin Ya and Gan Yanyan couldn’t eat as much as Luo Yixia.

Luo Yixia burped, too full to speak.

“Xia Xia, these crayfish are amazing, so spicy my tongue is numb,” Gan Yanyan said, sipping water.

“If only there was beer,” Lin Ya said, cleaning up the mess.

Luo Yixia finally understood why Song Chengyi had warned her not to drink at night—he clearly knew these northern girls in their dorm well.

The next day, Luo Yixia woke with a sore throat from eating too many spicy foods the night before.

She drank a few cups of water to soothe her throat, then went to wash up.

“Aaah!” A scream startled the three still half-asleep.

“What’s wrong? A thief?” Gan Yanyan jumped out of bed, looking around nervously.

“I’ve got pimples,” Luo Yixia said helplessly.

The three rolled their eyes and went back to bed.

Luo Yixia looked in the mirror: one on her forehead, one on her left cheek, two on her nose.

Page 3/3

Ahhhhh!

Luo Yixia gently touched them.

“Ouch.” It hurt so much she almost cried.

She was utterly miserable.

What did she say last night? Karma comes around; no one escapes it.

She shouldn’t have cursed her dorm mates—now she was the unlucky one.

Luo Yixia applied a bare-faced cream, then a layer of foundation.

But the red pimples only became more noticeable.

She tried to squeeze one, tears streaming down her face from the pain.

And it wouldn’t come out.

Finally, expressionless, hair loose, mask on, bangs covering her forehead, mask hiding cheeks and nose, she walked forward step by step.

The three girls looked at her walking like a machine, expressionless, and couldn’t stop laughing.

“You’re the only one who got pimples after we all ate. Serves you right for being greedy last night, eating so much and still going for more,” Lin Ya laughed loudly.

Several nearby students glanced over at them.

Luo Yixia didn’t want to say anything.

“Xia Xia, are you having hormonal imbalance?” Gan Yanyan teased.

Song Chengyi continued walking toward the cafeteria, deciding to eat something light all day.

After buying a cup of sweet soy milk, he saw all the oily fried foods and gave up decisively.

Sipping his soy milk, ignoring the three waiting in line behind him, he walked outside.

Luo Yixia, upon seeing Song Chengyi enter to buy breakfast, was startled and quickly turned away, blending into the crowd to avoid him, then ran out of the cafeteria.

She sighed in relief—she couldn’t let Song Chengyi see her like this, or who knew how he would mock her. Not just mock, but always remind her not to eat this or that, to learn her lesson.

Luo Yixia snorted to herself, determined to avoid him for a few days until the pimples cleared up, then all would be well.

Thinking this way, her mood improved significantly. Clenching her soy milk, she headed to class for the morning reading session.

All morning, Luo Yixia wore a mask.

Several people asked if she had caught a cold.

Luo Yixia coughed twice in sync and said she had the flu, quite serious.

The three girls nearby struggled to hold back their laughter.

At lunch, Luo Yixia ordered something light and sat alone in a corner, focused on eating without looking up. After finishing, she quickly put on her mask without wiping her mouth.

“You’re overdoing it,” Gan Yanyan laughed.

“What do you know?”

“Isn’t it said that looks are just fleeting?” Gan Yanyan retorted.

“You’re just jealous I’m pretty,” Luo Yixia said, brushing off imaginary dust and walking away.
