Chapter 117: Does Song Chengyi Know About the Climbing?
Well, confirmed by the look in his eyes—not as handsome as Song Chengyi.
She smacked her lips again and slumped back onto the desk.
On the podium, the young man scanned the students below. The girl with the exquisite features lifted her head slightly, cast a dismissive glance at him, and collapsed back onto the desk. Had she just ignored him? Heh, interesting.
"Old Sheng, you still know how to climb the wall?" a boy below laughed.
"Go, go, go. Class is starting. Where’s your book? Put that phone away," Old Sheng said, waving his hand. This group of students was always causing him trouble.
"Student He Zhen, go find a seat for now," Old Sheng said with a smile.
"Thank you, teacher," He Zhen bowed in thanks.
Old Sheng was moved to tears. It was rare, so rare to find a student this polite. Although he was dressed in such a non-mainstream way, it didn't matter. Under his careful guidance, he would surely change.
He Zhen looked at the empty seats in the classroom and chose the very last row, which was the seat right behind Luo Yixia.
"Hi, everyone. Nice to meet you," He Zhen said with a smile, reaching out to greet the class.
Gan Yanyan and Lin Ya were also woken up by the surrounding noise. Handsome guys were meant to be looked at, after all.
"Xiaxia, handsome guy, handsome guy!" Lin Ya shook Luo Yixia, who was sitting next to her.
Luo Yixia lifted her head with great reluctance and allowed Lin Ya to pull her to look back.
"Hi," He Zhen greeted with a smile.
Luo Yixia swept her eyes over him once, then turned to Lin Ya and said, "Oh."
"Forget it, forget it," Lin Ya said, knowing she had lost interest. She then pulled Gan Yanyan over to chat. "Isn't he handsome? When he smiled just now, didn't it look good?"
"Did you 'climb the wall' again?" Gan Yanyan asked, looking at her.
"No, no, how could I? I swore an oath last night—from now on, I am a die-hard fan of the Great God’s fan club," Lin Ya said with a serious expression.
The two girls looked at each other and smiled.
"No way, Song Chengyi is mine," Luo Yixia suddenly interjected.
"He's yours, he's yours. Go back to sleep," Lin Ya said, pressing her head down to make her slump back to sleep.
The noisy morning passed by.
Luo Yixia had finally finished catching up on her sleep. She stretched her limbs and moved around.
"Smack." Her hand hit the person behind her.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," Luo Yixia apologized quickly.
He Zhen's baseball cap had been knocked off by Luo Yixia. She reached out to pick it up and handed it to him. "My apologies."
He Zhen took the cap with a faint smile. "It's fine."
"Luo Yixia, time to eat," Lin Ya called out.
"Coming," Luo Yixia replied. She didn't look at He Zhen again and ran off.
He Zhen wore a smile on his lips. Her name is Luo Yixia, right?
The four of them went to the cafeteria together.
"Xiaxia, remember to send the address to your husband this afternoon, okay? I heard that place is hard to book. You have to tell him to make a reservation in advance!"
"Wouldn't it be fine to just find any place? Why choose such a high-end one?" Luo Yixia flipped through "Jingyue Pavilion" on her phone.
It was indeed the most high-end place nearby, and Luo Yixia had heard long ago that it was very expensive and difficult to reserve.
"What, are you feeling stingy?" Lin Ya asked.
"No," Luo Yixia denied.
"Look at that stingy face of yours—you definitely are."
"Fine, I am stingy. It's so expensive," Luo Yixia said with a pained expression.
"Being stingy won't work. You hid this from us for so long. It's just one meal. If we get angry, it won't just be a matter of one meal," Gan Yanyan teased.
"Fine, fine, you win," Luo Yixia said with a dismissive pout.
There were no troublemakers at lunch that day, but they didn't see Song Chengyi either. Luo Yixia sent him a message while she ate.
[Are you done with class?]
[Yes, I'm out today and just about to go eat. Have you eaten?] Luo Yixia received a reply quickly.
[I'm eating right now.]
Thinking about it, Luo Yixia sent the location to Song Chengyi anyway, fearing the "crazy women" beside her. Song Chengyi replied shortly after, saying he understood. After that, Luo Yixia didn't bother him again.
During the lunch break, the girls sat together playing games. Suddenly, she received a message from Song Chengyi.
[Tonight, at the school gate. I’ll come pick you up.]
Luo Yixia silently replied to him.
[Where to?]
"Luo Yixia, why did you go AFK? What are you doing?" Gan Yanyan shouted.
"Wait a second."
Luo Yixia kept her head down, waiting for Song Chengyi's reply.
[To eat.]
"Uh..." Luo Yixia blinked. Was it that fast?
[Didn't you say it needed a reservation?]
[It's already booked.]
"We can get ready to go out for dinner tonight," Luo Yixia said to the three girls in front of her.
"Where to?" All three were full of questions.
Luo Yixia raised her phone and showed the chat history to the three of them.
"Damn, the Great God is truly the Great God. Is he that fast?" Lin Ya exclaimed in surprise.
"My admiration for the Great God is like a rushing river, endless."
Then, the three of them tossed their phones aside.
"What are you doing? Not playing the game anymore?" Luo Yixia asked, looking at their abandoned phones.
"Why bother playing? I need to find something nice to wear," Lin Ya said, already rummaging through the wardrobe.
"Wait a minute," Gan Yanyan spoke up.
Everyone looked at her.
"What's wrong?" Xu Jiayu asked.
"I think we've got the priorities wrong. The one who needs to be dressed up the most right now is Xiaxia."
"Right!" the other two nodded.
Luo Yixia watched in horror as the three of them walked toward her with devious grins.
"You... you guys... what are you doing..." Luo Yixia shrank back in fear.
"Ah... no, don't!" Luo Yixia shrieked.
The random teammates in her game were innocent; out of five people, four were now AFK—what was the point of playing?
Luo Yixia was tormented for a long time. Xu Jiayu looked at her shoulder-length hair and sighed.
"Why did you cut your hair? You don't know how envious we were of your long hair."
"Short hair is very convenient," Luo Yixia touched her hair.
It hurt—anyone would feel the pain. She had grown it for over a decade, only to cut it all off on a whim. However, she had completely gotten used to short hair recently.
"Let me see what nice clothes are in her suitcase," Lin Ya suggested. They started rummaging through her luggage.
"Xiaxia, what do you have in your suitcase? It's so heavy!" Gan Yanyan dragged her case out.
Luo Yixia laughed awkwardly. "Just some clothes."
The girls started digging through them, letting out one "Damn" after another.
"My god, you haven't even cut the price tags off these. Are they all new?" Gan Yanyan pulled them out one by one.
"Is this red thing a piece of clothing?" Xu Jiayu unpacked the red dance costume Yu Wenjing had bought for her.
"Wow, this is gorgeous. Is this Tibetan clothing?"
"My mom brought it back for me when she went to Tibet for the National Day holiday," Luo Yixia smiled.
"I've decided, you'll be the one dancing at the New Year's Eve party this year," Lin Ya declared.
"No... I can't dance," Luo Yixia refused.
"Resistance is futile," Gan Yanyan said.
They carefully picked out an outfit. Luo Yixia was first painted and brushed with makeup, then forced into the bathroom with the clothes. They had chosen a small, Chanel-style suit—a white shirt with lantern sleeves inside, a black vest outside, and a pencil skirt. Finally, Xu Jiayu braided Luo Yixia's hair on both sides, gathering the stray locks at her temples.
"You are my goddess now," Lin Ya said, looking at her with great satisfaction.
Luo Yixia walked to the mirror and looked at herself. She felt a bit dazed; she didn't look like herself at all. She usually went for a cute style—was this a bit too mature?
"I don't think this is suitable," Luo Yixia said, looking at the outfit.
"You bought these clothes yourself, why wouldn't they be suitable? Trust us, it looks great," Lin Ya said, adjusting the bow at her neckline.
"I didn't buy them..." Luo Yixia murmured.
"Did your mom buy them?"
"That... Song Chengyi's mom bought them..." Luo Yixia muttered softly.
Lin Ya's hands froze.
"Ahhh, is this life even fair? My god, Luo Yixia, did you save the world in your past life? How can you have such a handsome husband and such a great mother-in-law?" Gan Yanyan ruffled her own hair in jealousy.
"Ha, come on, come on... don't be modest. Whatever clothes I have in here that I haven't worn yet, you guys can pick whatever you like," Luo Yixia said, trying to appease them.
"You're doing this on purpose, aren't you? You're the thinnest in our dorm. How could we possibly fit into your size S clothes?"
Luo Yixia silently shut her mouth... she really was asking for it.
By the time they finished, it was five o'clock. Luo Yixia sent a message to Song Chengyi. Fortunately, they didn't have classes in the afternoon, or she wouldn't have had time for this makeover.
Song Chengyi didn't reply, so they waited at the school gate. Perhaps because Luo Yixia was dressed so strikingly, many people cast glances in her direction. She felt very uncomfortable.
"Hasn't Song Chengyi replied to your message yet?"
"I'll call and ask," Luo Yixia said, knowing they were getting anxious.
"It's fine. If it doesn't work out, we can just take a taxi and wait for him there." Although they were always fooling around, they were very understanding of each other when it mattered.
The call was picked up quickly.
"I see you," Song Chengyi said directly from the other end.
"Huh?" Before Luo Yixia could react, a car pulled up. It was a car she had ridden in several times; she couldn't possibly mistake it.
Song Chengyi rolled down the window. "Get in."
"Hi, Senior," the girls greeted him one after another.
"Hello," Song Chengyi replied with a rare smile.
Luo Yixia was pushed into the front passenger seat, and the other three sat in the back. Song Chengyi had noticed that Luo Yixia was wearing makeup since she arrived, but he didn't say anything—he neither disliked it nor felt particularly impressed.
The car fell into an awkward silence.
Finally, Gan Yanyan broke the quiet. "Jingyue Pavilion always requires reservations. How were you so fast, Senior?"
"I know the owner," Song Chengyi replied.
In reality, Song Chengyi and Song Shaohui had eaten there several times, so the owner knew them well. With a single phone call from Song Chengyi, the owner would make space as a favor to the Song family.
