Chapter Eight: Two and a Half Years of Practice (Please Continue Reading)
Wang Sulong’s eyes widened in surprise. “Exiled? You three? All of you want to go?”
“Ah!” the three replied in unison.
“Alright, alright, then you three should quickly pack your bags and head out together.”
“But what if no one votes for us?” Wang Chuanjun asked.
“Are you silly? Just vote for yourselves! Then the three of us can stagger our voting times and vote for each other. That way, it’s guaranteed!” Xu Xiu’s words were a wake-up call.
“Yeah, that’s a great idea. Then it’s settled among the three of us.”
“I think it’s reliable.”
“No problem with me.”
Wang Sulong stood awkwardly to the side, looking at the three as if they were fools.
Damn! These three don’t seem quite right in the head!
However... even though he didn’t understand, he respected their decision!
Respect!
With the rules explained, it was time for the suffocating self-introduction segment.
The old villagers wore confident and calm expressions. Song Dan started things off, speaking very seriously and at length.
Then came Li Xueqin and La Mu, whose self-introductions were anything but serious.
They joked as they spoke, lightening the atmosphere considerably.
This helped the newcomers relax; they had been genuinely nervous before.
They had all seen the infamous nine-minute black episode from the first season, where the atmosphere was unbearably oppressive and stifling.
“Hello everyone, I’m Wang Sulong. I’m someone who aspires to support myself with talent, but ironically, I’ve been making a living thanks to a handsome face. My representative work is still ‘coming soon’…”
“Pfft~ You shameless! You live off your looks?” Song Dan shot back without mercy.
“Exactly, brother, that’s a bit of a stretch. It’s not that I don’t support you, but it’s a little embarrassing to admit.”
“What’s wrong? I’m purely handsome!” Wang Sulong proudly puffed out his chest.
After everyone had their fill of laughter, Meng Ziyi spoke up:
“Uh... I’m Meng Ziyi, but you can call me Sister Meng~ My representative works are the first and second seasons of Peach Blossom Village, and maybe there will be a third, fourth, and fifth seasons!”
*Applause, applause, applause!*
“Oh wow, Sister Meng has grown up; everyone’s flattering her now,” Wang Sulong teased.
“Indeed, after three days apart, one should see someone in a new light. Who’d have thought Sister Meng could speak so well?” Li Xueqin was somewhat surprised.
“Hmph~ I’ve grown a lot~” Meng Ziyi said with a coquettish expression.
Uh... difficult to judge.
She’s grown, but maybe only halfway.
Meanwhile, the live comments were flooding in.
“Wow wow wow! So cute, wife~ Such an adorable Meng Meng, I want to take her away~”
“Sister Meng is really confident, and her confidence comes from the heart. I envy her state of mind.”
“So adorable~ It’s almost unfair how cute she is! How can the wife be this cute?!”
“Once you meet Sister Meng, you’re doomed for life! How do I stop wanting to see her every day?!”
By now, the front row had finished their introductions, and it was Wu Dajing’s turn. The moment he spoke, no one could hold back their laughter.
“My name is Wu Dajing. I am a champion! Whether it’s national, Asian, Olympic, or World Cup level, I’ve won championships.”
This self-introduction was flawless—perfect and unassailable.
Everyone applauded him; he was a hero who brought glory to the country!
After Wu Dajing finished, it was Wang Chuanjun’s turn. He reluctantly stood up.
“Uh... I’m Wang Chuanjun. My wife just gave birth, and I’m a father now.”
“???”
“Huh??”
That was it? That was all?
Even Xu Xiu glanced at him curiously, but seeing the pride on his face, she understood.
Wang Chuanjun valued family deeply; this introduction was sincere.
Now it was Xu Xiu’s turn. He slowly stood, striking a pose.
“Hello, everyone. I’m Xu Xiu, a solo trainee with two and a half years of practice. My hobbies are singing, dancing, rapping, and playing basketball.”
“Next, I’ll perform an impromptu rap. I hope you’ll like it.”
“Hey~ yo~ yo~ yo! If I say I was born in 1996, my dream is to be a rap leader. I always cram at the last minute. Hey, what are you doing~ This is really ‘Tai Ku La’!”
‘Tai Ku La’~
‘Tai Ku’~
‘Tai...’
The quirky, rhythmic melody lingered in the air, refusing to fade!
Everyone’s mouths hung open wide enough to fit a goose egg.
[Beep! Abstract behavior detected in host, exposure value +69... +69... +69... +69...]
“Showing your chicken feet? Is this your self-introduction? You better hope it is!”
“Pfft~ hahaha...”
“I don’t know why, even though I’ve never heard this before, what you’re saying sounds strangely familiar.”
“Your Majesty, spare your ministers! Please sit down. Allow me to make a move—would you please take back your elephant first?”
“You play basketball?” Wang Chuanjun asked, puzzled.
“Yes, I’m pretty good!”
“That’s really ‘Tai Ku La.’ Wanna play a game sometime?”
“Mo Wen Te Ah~”
While the two whispered quietly, Song Dan tapped Xu Xiu on the shoulder.
“I think Xu Xiu’s introduction was really good. The kid shared his strengths and hobbies honestly. Why are you all laughing at him?”
“Do you think your introductions were better? At least he was serious. What are you laughing at down there?”
“You! Li Xueqin! You! Wang Sulong! You two laughed the hardest, and your introductions were the worst. Even as old villagers of Peach Blossom Village, you two are just too inappropriate!”
As Song Dan’s words rang out, the atmosphere grew tense again.
Especially Li Xueqin and Wang Sulong, who suddenly fell silent.
The oppressive feeling reminiscent of the nine-minute black episode descended, making the new villagers shiver.
Xu Xiu quickly stood to ease the tension. As the village leader, he worked hard to restore normalcy.
Once everyone had finished their self-introductions, the meeting finally came to an end.
At Xu Xiu’s word to dismiss, everyone scattered like wild beasts just released from a cage.
Xu Xiu, Wang Chuanjun, and Wang Sulong walked to their dormitory together.
Perhaps due to budget constraints, this time it was a large communal dormitory.
Everyone had to sleep in the same room, side by side.
If everyone lay down naked at night, it would feel like pigs waiting to be slaughtered on a chopping block...
One by one, in orderly fashion.
Fortunately, Xu Xiu was from Northeast China and was quite accustomed to large communal dorms. In fact, he quite liked it; this sense of community brought a feeling of security.
The audience watching this scene laughed.
“This is hilarious—so many people crammed together? The production must be really broke.”
“Hahaha, I thought only the boys had this setup, but the girls have a big dorm too!”
“Ah? Sadly, we can’t see them at night, or I’d have to give a proper critique!”
“You’re weird! You’re really weird!”
