I am sorry.
Let's call it a day here, I'm dropping this story.
Mostly, I lost confidence in myself. I couldn't even bear to read what I was writing.
When a story is entirely built around the bonds of married couples, it's very difficult to establish a strong connection with the protagonist. The only character who could form such a connection—the ex-wife—had extremely low reader approval, and the metrics were tumbling down drastically. Yet, the plot has only reached the eighth day. No matter how much I tried to speed up the pacing, I couldn't just skip ahead like that, unless I veered off course midway.
I tried thinking of several solutions, but none of them seemed to work out.
Even if I skipped forward to the early stages of a new variety show, it would still be useless. I might as well just start a brand new book instead.
While it hasn't gone behind a paywall yet, let's end it here.
I am sorry.
