Volume One, Chapter 8: Please, I Beg You, Help Me Massage…

In the morning, Ji Yao received a follow-up call from the hospital. It was a female doctor who told her to come to the internal medicine department for an examination at ten o’clock. She had been thinking about this since last night. Ever since her previous hospital visit, she noticed that He Yancheng held considerable influence there. With his help, she was sure to receive treatment from the best doctors in the entire hospital.
She arrived at the hematology department.
Guided by a nurse, Ji Yao nervously pushed open the door of the consultation room. As soon as she stepped in, she heard the nurse whispering beside her, “Doctor He, patient number 23 has arrived.”
“Mm.”
The man turned around, revealing that same face as pure and flawless as jade, with eyes like midnight stars—He Yancheng. How was it him again?
After handing her over to He Yancheng, the nurse quietly closed the door and left.
Ji Yao was stunned, her rebellious heart pounding wildly. “Aren’t you a gynecologist? This is hematology; isn’t this the wrong place?”
Besides, the call this morning was clearly from a female doctor. How could it suddenly be He Yancheng?
He Yancheng fixed his gaze on her and pointed to the name tag hanging on his left chest. His eyes were dark and intense. “Hematology, He Yancheng. Gynecology is only my elective.”
Elective… then why did he examine her last time? Ji Yao’s mind was in chaos. She forced herself to stay calm and not panic.
The consultation room door opened again. The same nurse entered, carrying some syringes and instruments, placing them on the instrument tray before glancing back at Ji Yao.
“Why haven’t you sat down yet? Doctor He holds dual doctoral degrees in medicine. I’ve reviewed your records; the gynecological exam was also done by Doctor He. He only works one shift in gynecology—consider yourself lucky!”
“…”
What had been confusing before now made perfect sense. No wonder He Yancheng was so influential at the hospital. With such impressive credentials and competence, who wouldn’t like him?
The door closed once more. He Yancheng’s cold eyes swept over her. “Come here.”
At his command, she had no choice but to approach. Before she could sit on the examination chair, the man leaned forward slightly, his sharp aura brushing over her smooth forehead.
“Take your pants off.”
Take them off again?
Ji Yao’s lip trembled; a throbbing pain pulsed at her temple. “I’m here for a hematology check, not gynecology. I won’t take them off.”
Why did she have to remove her pants? She wasn’t being examined there this time; it made no sense!

He Yancheng caught the panic in her eyes and leaned closer, his breath cool against her skin. “If you don’t take them off, how am I supposed to give you the injection?”
Only then did she notice the disposable syringe filled with medicine and a cotton swab in his hand. It looked like he was going to inject her in the buttocks.
Ji Yao clenched the hem of her skirt and swallowed nervously. “Can’t you inject somewhere else?”
Blood circulates throughout the body. Unlike a common cold, which requires an injection in the buttocks, couldn’t they use her arm like a regular IV?
He Yancheng seemed to have lost patience. Wearing his white coat with an air of gentlemanly ease, he nonetheless exuded a distant, unapproachable aura.
“It’s not like I haven’t done it before. What difference does it make where?”
Difference… well, she thought there might be some. But He Yancheng seemed colder than usual today—was it just her imagination? He looked like he was in a bad mood. Since she already knew, there was no point in arguing further. She obediently pulled down her leggings, turned around, and presented her backside to him.
As He Yancheng disinfected the area with the cotton swab, her body instinctively stiffened.
“Doctor He, could you be a bit gentler? I’m afraid it will hurt…”
No sooner had she spoken than the syringe pierced her skin without a shred of gentleness, as if laced with some sort of vindictive intent. She bit her lip as he pushed the needle in, the medicine flowing into her body, pain intensifying with each moment until she couldn’t help but cry out.
“Ah, it hurts…”
He Yancheng crouched behind her. His voice was calm and still like the surface of a winter lake. “Beg me.”
She hadn’t had an injection in a long time. Though she took medicine for minor colds, this shot was truly painful—nothing like the usual flu shots. Tears welled up in her eyes, and she could no longer bear the pain.
“I—I beg you, please massage it for me…”
He Yancheng’s fingers were long and slender, the knuckles clearly defined and skin smooth. When he touched her, a burning heat spread. The pain seemed to freeze at that moment, replaced by a scalding warmth flowing through her. She even thought she could hear her heartbeat, distinct and clear.
“Is the pressure okay?”
She wasn’t sure if he deliberately slowed the injection or if that was the usual pace. Time seemed to stretch endlessly as the injection continued. “Could… could you be a little gentler?”
“Would you feel better if I were?”
“Mm…”
He Yancheng eased the pressure. Even so, she could feel his warmth, hot and seeping into her chest. Her heart trembled involuntarily.

Once the needle was withdrawn, she hurriedly put on her pants, avoiding looking at He Yancheng. After discarding the syringe, he sat at his desk, typed on the computer, and handed her a printed prescription.
“Go get your medicine.”
Ji Yao took the prescription awkwardly. “Oh, thank you.”
As she turned to leave, He Yancheng’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he spoke in a slightly husky voice, “If you run off like that again, next time I won’t be injecting your butt.”
What running off?
Before she could react, He Yancheng fixed her with a warning look. “Remember that?”
“I—I remember.”
Actually, after leaving his office, she still didn’t fully understand that last remark. It wasn’t until she got her medicine and got into her car that she pulled out her phone to check WeChat. Bored, she scrolled through her moments and happened upon the post she had made last night. The first like was from He Yancheng.
Oh no, she had forgotten to block him when she posted!
But thinking about it, something felt off. She had gone to watch a movie with her husband, yet he seemed upset for some reason.
...
At 1:30 a.m.
Most likely, Qin Zhenzhen had seen Ji Yao’s post through an informant. That night, Xie Huaijin returned home especially late and appeared listless. They had probably just argued, and he couldn’t explain anything to her, so he forced himself to come home.
As usual, Ji Yao waited for him, prepared his pajamas. After he showered and came out of the bathroom, she watched as he climbed into their big bed.
Since discovering Xie Huaijin’s infidelity, every time he got into that bed, she felt utter disgust. Deep down, she could no longer share the same bed with him. So, when he climbed in, she deliberately reached out and wrapped her arms around his waist from behind.
“Husband…”
She lowered her voice deliberately, her unabashed gaze roaming over him. Her other hand gently stroked his back, slowly sliding down…
But her hand was caught by Xie Huaijin.
