Chapter 37: Immune to All Poisons!
As they spoke, Tsunoda Koichi drew closer and closer to Duan Lingxiao, eventually standing only a meter or two away.
For Tsunoda, this distance was an unparalleled advantage. At such close range, his toxic mist would reach its maximum effectiveness. What did it matter if Duan Lingxiao was a Heaven-tier martial artist? The mist spread rapidly and possessed immense penetrative power; the protective aura of a Heaven-tier warrior could not stop it. This was not a bullet—it was an invisible threat. A single trace of contact would mean certain death.
*Schi!*
Tsunoda clawed into his own waist, tearing through flesh and muscle as blood sprayed out. In that same instant, a pungent, pitch-black mist billowed forth. Through his deliberate guidance, the poison was sprayed directly toward Duan Lingxiao’s face.
"Hahahaha!" A cold, cruel sneer distorted Tsunoda's face. "Die, you Chinese swine! Did you think a great Japanese warrior would surrender so easily? Impossible!"
"This mist was refined from twenty-seven types of deadly poisons. Can you feel your blood thickening and sluggish, your muscles numb and spasming? You dared to barge into our Sakura Society and insult the face of the Japanese people. Today, your time is up!"
He felt a sense of relief; though he was gravely wounded, it would all be worth it if Duan Lingxiao died.
"Ugh!"
However, the very next second, the smile on Tsunoda’s face froze. The triumphant sound in his throat was choked off. It wasn't just a freeze—his expression became utterly bizarre and grotesque.
Duan Lingxiao had neither dodged nor activated his internal energy to form a protective barrier. He simply stood there silently, as if he hadn't reacted at all. Tsunoda had been prepared to mock Duan Lingxiao for his arrogance in not evading the gas, but when he saw that Duan Lingxiao didn't show the miserable signs of bleeding from his seven orifices, he was stunned.
That shouldn't be! One breath of this mist should have produced an immediate effect. Yet, the reality was that Duan Lingxiao was perfectly fine.
"How is this possible? How are you completely unaffected?" Tsunoda watched as Duan Lingxiao inhaled the mist, yet remained standing there, unscathed. The shock was overwhelming.
"A mere toxic mist. This kind of petty trick is exactly the sort of thing you Japanese dogs hold in such high regard," Duan Lingxiao sneered.
Having inherited the *Medical King’s Canon* from his fifth master and forged a body immune to all poisons, this mist was no more than an after-dinner snack to him.
"How? This is absolutely impossible!" Tsunoda still refused to believe it. Having paid the price of his life, he could not accept such an outcome.
"There is nothing impossible in this world. If you think there is, it is only because you are not strong enough."
Duan Lingxiao walked up to Tsunoda with a smile and brought his foot down. *Bang!* One of Tsunoda’s arms exploded into a mist of blood and gore.
"Ahhh!" Tsunoda let out a shrill scream.
*Bang!* Without hesitation, Duan Lingxiao stepped on the other arm. Tsunoda’s arms were completely reduced to a pulp of flesh and blood.
"Ah, ah, ah! You, surnamed Ling, if you have the guts, kill me! Just kill me!" Tsunoda roared.
"Very well. But for a Japanese dog, I think a quick death is too merciful." Duan Lingxiao flicked out the Nine-Yin Demon Needles.
Instantly, Tsunoda’s body stiffened, followed by violent convulsions. "Ahhhhhhh!" Overwhelmed by infinite, agonizing pain, Tsunoda could not bear it. The horror of the Nine-Yin Demon Needles lay in how they plunged the victim into an endless, hellish torture, a suffering beyond words. Even Lu Beilie had chosen to tear his own throat open just to escape it. Without sealing the victim's acupoints, no ordinary person could withstand it.
"I want to die, I want to die, I have to die!" Tsunoda’s face was twisted in agony; there had never been a moment where he craved death more. But with both his arms reduced to bloody pulp, he had no way to commit suicide. He struggled to his feet and slammed his head against the wall—*thud, thud, thud, thud*—with a madness that was terrifying to behold.
*Bang!*
With a final, thunderous impact, Tsunoda’s head split open. Blood poured out in a torrent. He died on the spot.
"You're the only one left." Duan Lingxiao walked toward Kiyohara Kazuma.
"Ling-san... Mr. Ling, I was wrong! We will return all of the Xiao family’s assets to the Japanese Chamber of Commerce immediately. If you are still not satisfied, we can offer compensation!" Seeing Tsunoda’s miserable end, Kiyohara begged repeatedly for mercy.
"No need. Once you are dead, your things will be mine anyway." Duan Lingxiao said coldly, "Besides, just based on what was in that underground steel room, killing you Japanese dogs ten times over wouldn't be enough!"
He had long heard that Japanese dignitaries colluded with local bureaucrats and criminal elements in China, using money and power to lure and kidnap impoverished girls from mountain regions for their own depraved amusement. It turned out to be true. Duan Lingxiao was sensitive to the smell of blood; in the basement, he had sensed that dozens of young girls had perished there. These Japanese dogs deserved nothing but death.
"No, don't..." Kiyohara, desperate and terrified, shouted as he trembled. He was frantic, wondering why his reinforcements had not arrived yet. This man was a lunatic; if help didn't arrive, he would suffer a miserable death.
Just as Duan Lingxiao was about to crush Kiyohara with his foot, a cold voice rang out.
"You bastard, stop!"
The newcomer was a young man dressed in a luxurious, tailored suit. Upon seeing him, Kiyohara’s eyes lit up. "Young Master Ouyang, you’re finally here! Thank goodness!"
The man was Ouyang Fengri, a scion of the Ouyang family of Jinling. The Ouyang family maintained close ties with the Japanese Chamber of Commerce, which was why their president, Tokugawa Kyogaku, had asked the Ouyang family to intervene. Firstly, the Ouyang family had the strength to handle the matter, and secondly, Ouyang Fengri happened to be in Jiangnan City.
"Hmm." Ouyang Fengri nodded at Kiyohara before turning to face Duan Lingxiao. He looked down at him with cold arrogance: "Kid, do you know who you killed today? The vice president of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce! Are you trying to destroy the international relations between China and Japan? President Tokugawa has already called me. If I hadn't arrived in time, you bastard would have committed an irreparable mistake."
Ouyang Fengri immediately tried to pin a major charge on Duan Lingxiao, his tone cold and aggressive.
"Get lost." Duan Lingxiao said flatly, wasting no further words.
"What did you say?" Ouyang Fengri was shocked, unable to believe his ears.
"I said, get lost!" Duan Lingxiao’s eyes narrowed, a cold glint flashing within them.
