“Main God... full body restoration, reward points... you decide how to deduct them yourself...”

With a twisted, agonized groan, a thick pillar of white light fell from the void, instantly enveloping Wu Xian’s battered and broken body. At a speed visible to the naked eye, it continuously repaired his injuries.

Flesh and bone grew steadily, enveloped and fused by a warm energy that radiated vibrant life. Yet Wu Xian still lowly moaned in pain, his expression twisted and terrifying, as if enduring unimaginable agony.

About three minutes passed. The newly regenerated flesh was fully restored, but Wu Xian did not fall from midair, and the pillar of light shifted from pure white to a faint green hue.

Only then did the agonized groans gradually subside.

“Phew... as expected, the gene lock isn’t so easy to break open. Although the effect is powerful, the side effects are too severe. If I hadn’t returned to the Main God Space in time, I probably would’ve died suddenly by now.”

Murmuring softly, Wu Xian looked down at the empty white space around him. After confirming there was no other figure nearby, his tense expression finally relaxed, revealing a deep look of confusion.

…

Wu Xian, male, 23 years old, citizen of the People’s Republic of China, just graduated from university this year. He was stepping into society, entering the prime years to serve the capitalists as a hardworking laborer.

However, Wu Xian had little enthusiasm for this. Rather than being a beast of burden, he preferred to be a lazy fish, living a life of eating and waiting for death.

Fortunately, though not born into wealth, Wu Xian was a “second-generation property inheritor.” Thanks to an apartment building his deceased parents left behind, the rental income alone was a considerable sum every year.

At least until marriage and children, he didn’t need to worry too much about money, perfectly fitting his ideal of being a slacker.

Originally, Wu Xian thought such days would last a long time. But seven nights ago, on a dark and stormy evening, a multicolored thunderbolt descended from the sky, piercing through the apartment ceiling and striking him as he lay in bed scrolling through short videos.

When he awoke from panic, he found himself in an unfamiliar environment, surrounded by many frantic men and women, as if caught in a massive abduction.

Moments later, several calmer individuals appeared and informed them that this was the horror movie world of “A Nightmare on Elm Street 1.” Everyone who survived here for seven days would return to a place called the Main God Space, gaining various magical abilities to become true superhumans.

Wu Xian didn’t listen to the rest. The very term “Main God Space” shocked him, and he understood his situation immediately.

He had actually crossed into the original Infinite Horror world and had become a Reincarnator!

Wu Xian was dumbfounded. He was just watching some videos of pretty girls, never seeing any choice prompts like “Do you understand the meaning of life?” How did he suddenly get trapped in Infinite Horror?!

Could it be because he was so lazy that even Heaven pitied him and used the Main God Space to stir up his fighting spirit?

But this was way too harsh!

Unfortunately, no one answered Wu Xian’s questions. The story of “A Nightmare on Elm Street” had officially begun.

---

The original Zhang Jie once said that supernatural horror films like “A Nightmare on Elm Street” and “Ju-On” were the hardest dungeons in the Main God Space. A single misstep could mean defeat amid laughter and screams.

And indeed, by the time the story had not even reached the third day, most newcomers who arrived with Wu Xian had already perished. By the seventh day, only Wu Xian, Zhang Jie, and a disguised guide remained.

In the end, possibly due to the butterfly effect, during another attack by the villain Freddy, Zhang Jie—who should have become a semi-guide—was gravely injured and died instantly. Wu Xian, under the threat of death, broke through the first-level gene lock and barely clung to life.

Later, when the guide wanted to appoint him as the captain of the Central Continent team, Wu Xian firmly refused. He forcibly opened the gene lock, suppressing his fear, and endured Freddy’s pursuit until the story ended, when the Main God teleported him back.

Then came the scene at the beginning of this chapter...

“Clack!”

Landing on the ground, Wu Xian stood almost completely naked on the Main God Space’s grand hall platform. Since he was alone, he paid no mind and eagerly glanced up at the giant orb of light overhead to check his rewards from this horror film.

“250 points... just healing cost me more than a thousand reward points? Damn! That ruthless Main God really is a heartless bastard!”

Seeing the “250” reward points displayed, Wu Xian felt speechless but, recalling his performance in “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” wasn’t too surprised.

Except for his final day’s breakout, Wu Xian played it safe like an old dog, shielding others and barely participating in the storyline, just freeloading on the veteran team’s mission rewards.

Combined with the cost of healing and gene lock side effects, the points balanced out—not that it was acceptable… hell no!

Just 250 points was unbearable. Who did he think he was fooling?

Complaining inwardly, Wu Xian began browsing the Main God’s exchange interface again.

Without team leader permissions, he had to check each item clumsily one by one. The items were as dazzling as he remembered: sci-fi weapons, cultivation techniques, bloodlines, magic, martial arts, supernatural powers, tools, ingredients, entertainment products... truly comprehensive and all-encompassing.

In the Main God Space, you could find anything you imagined—if only you had enough reward points and side quests. Otherwise, even the best items were out of reach.

Thinking of his measly 250 points, Wu Xian reluctantly closed the exchange window and opened his personal attribute panel along with the option to return to the mission world.

No explanation was needed for the former; according to the Main God, his stats far surpassed those of ordinary adults, even outshining Olympic-level champions.

Clearly, this was the benefit of long-term activation of the first-level gene lock.

As for returning to the mission world, only one option appeared: “A Nightmare on Elm Street 1.” The so-called real world simply did not exist.

---

“As expected, my crossing into the Main God Space isn’t ordinary. There must be secrets here I don’t know...”

Wu Xian gritted his teeth, irritated, when a strong wave of fatigue suddenly overwhelmed him, causing him to stagger.

In the world of “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” the worst thing was sleeping and dreaming. Counting the last time Freddy chased him in a dream, he had not slept at all for five days.

Now, finally relaxing his mind, he could no longer hold on and collapsed backwards onto the Main God hall, falling into a deep sleep.

…

“Drip!”

Amid the sound of water droplets, Wu Xian opened his eyes to see a dark, profound chaos.

No up, no down, no front or back—no direction discernible. He felt as if floating weightlessly in the cosmic void.

Where was this place? Hadn’t he returned to the Main God Space?

Remembering his ordeal in “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” his heart tightened inexplicably.

At that moment, a faintly glowing path, about a yard wide, appeared in his vision, seemingly guiding him forward.

The instant he saw it, his consciousness wavered, and his feet instinctively stepped onto the path, as if something ahead irresistibly drew him.

Time passed—maybe just a moment, maybe an eternity.

When he reached the path’s end, the chaotic void vanished, replaced by a pure, flawless white space. Soft, moonlight-like mists emanated from all directions, creating a mysterious atmosphere.

Main God Space?

No, it wasn’t right! There was no giant orb of light, and the feeling was completely different!

Just as Wu Xian grew wary, a sudden weight pressed on his shoulder, followed by a strangely familiar voice whispering in his ear:

“Yo, finally another newcomer has arrived!”
