Volume One, Chapter Five: A Male Model in Bed?
Page (1/3)
...In a daze, I found myself entering a pitch-black room where I couldn’t see a thing. Tentatively, I took a few steps forward in the darkness when suddenly a cluster of purple light appeared ahead. The glow gradually diffused, revealing a bed in the center of the room. A sheer veil surrounded it, faintly showing the outline of a person inside.
I slowly approached the bed and pulled aside the veil. Before me was a pale, flushed face, with eyes covered by a red cloth, yet still exuding a delicate charm. When the red cloth was removed, a pair of captivating eyes looked at me tenderly.
“Fu Yunshen?”
I was shocked—how could Fu Yunshen be here, and in such a state? He wore a deep V-neck red silk shirt, his brows tinged with a rosy flush.
Red beans grow in the southern lands—is there a male model on this bed?
“Sis, I’ve been waiting for you for so long, woof woof woof…”
“Sis, come catch me quickly!”
Charming Fu Yunshen dashed to the other side of the bed, playfully resisting and yielding, stirring a mischievous itch in my heart.
I raised a sly smile. “Don’t run, Little Fu Fu... Sis is here...”
...
“Lu Xiaoyu… Lu Xiaoyu… wake up… time to eat.”
I opened my eyes filled with resentment. Just when I was about to grasp the beauty in my dream, it suddenly shattered.
“What were you dreaming about, drooling so much?”
Fu Yunshen folded his arms, looking at the wet corner of my mouth with disdain.
I was stunned, reached up to wipe it, feeling awkward at the dampness. “No, I wasn’t dreaming, didn’t dream about you.”
As soon as I said that, I wanted to dig a hole and hide in it—this denial was like confessing without a fight.
Fu Yunshen’s eyes suddenly sparkled with laughter. “Alright! Lu Xiaoyu, you were fantasizing about me in your dreams.”
Me: Nonsense, you were the one seducing me!
Fu Yunshen was taken aback. “I was? How was I seducing you? Tell me in detail, how far have we come?”
My head was about to explode. “Stop, isn’t it time to eat? Hurry up and go!”
I got out of bed, put on my shoes, and quickly left the house.
Behind me, Fu Yunshen’s face was full of amusement. “Come on, tell me! How did I seduce you? I want to see if I’m any good…”
In my heart, I whispered: Do not look, do not listen.
After dinner, Fu Yunshen took the initiative to clear and wash the dishes. To Grandpa and Grandma, Fu Yunshen was now the picture of a diligent and frugal husband.
Sitting by the fire, I handed Grandma a card. It contained the money Fu Yunshen had transferred to me—I deposited one million on it. Even if I were no longer here, this money would be enough for Grandpa and Grandma to live out their days comfortably.
Though it was extorted from Fu Yunshen, he didn’t mind losing this bit of money.
“Xiaoyu, you can’t take this. You earned it with your hard work—you should save it for yourself.”
Grandma refused it, so I didn’t tell her the exact amount. If she knew, she might not accept it.
“Grandma, please take it. It’s just a small token of my affection.”
I pushed the card back to her, and with some reluctance, she finally accepted it.
Grandma managed the family’s finances; Grandpa’s money was all with her. I had always wondered if, when I got married, my husband would entrust all the money to me like Grandpa did.
Well, marriage is impossible in this lifetime—maybe in the next!
Fu Yunshen came out after washing the dishes and plopped down on a stool, stretching his hands toward the fire. His nose was a little red from the cold. He looked up and smiled brilliantly.
“Grandpa, Grandma, we’re running low on salt and soy sauce. Tomorrow, Xiaoyu and I will go to town to buy some, and maybe some rice as well.”
After two days of living here, he seemed to have settled in. Grandpa and Grandma called him by name naturally now, and he had started managing household necessities.
Grandpa smiled happily, his eyes full of approval for his grandson-in-law. “Good, thank you both for your hard work.”

When Fu Yunshen got up, I was already fixing the family’s tricycle.
Seeing me tinkering, he looked surprised. “You know how to fix this?”
“Yeah, I didn’t at first, but after watching the mechanic fix it several times, I learned.”
This was the only vehicle the family had. Riding it to town would be faster, and it would save money on motorbikes on the way back.
The tricycle was old and many parts were worn out; it was time for a new one.
“Grandpa, Grandma, Fu Yunshen and I are going to town.”
After telling them, I took the driver’s seat and looked at Fu Yunshen.
“Get in, let’s go.”
Fu Yunshen: Can you drive?
I retorted: Can you?
He shook his head: No.
Me: Then just do as I say and get in!
Still half-doubting, Fu Yunshen sat in the back. Contrary to his worries, I was thrilled—after all, I hadn’t driven this little tricycle for ages.
“Sit tight, we’re off! Little tricycle, woohoo!”
I excitedly twisted the handle and the tricycle started moving.
The November wind was chilly, but I was oblivious, fully immersed in the joy of driving.
The village road was newly paved with smooth cement. Fields of lush vegetables lined the roadside, lifting my mood as we drove.
Throughout the trip, Fu Yunshen kept watching me. The gaze from behind was impossible to ignore. I wondered what was so fascinating about the back of my head that he couldn’t stop staring.
We finally reached town. I headed straight to the vehicle shop—time to upgrade this old tricycle.
While I was inspecting the vehicles, Fu Yunshen’s phone kept ringing.
“Xiaoyu, you keep an eye on things. I need to take this call.”
I nodded. “Okay.”
A strange feeling rose in my chest—was Fu’s family pressuring him to return? He had been away several days, and the Fu Corporation surely needed their CEO.
By the time Fu Yunshen returned, I had chosen a new vehicle and just paid for it, but his expression was grim.
“Did something happen?”
I asked, suspicious but already knowing the answer: it had to be the Fu family or company, either way, he had to go back.
Fu Yunshen’s eyes darkened. “Xiaoyu, I… have to go back to Jing City tomorrow. Do you want to come with me or stay here a few more days with Grandpa and Grandma?”
I had planned to stay longer in the village this time, hoping to win Fu Yunshen over, but I had no confidence. “Fu Yunshen, I…”
“It’s okay. Then stay with Grandpa and Grandma a few more days. I’ll come back for you later. I promised to be your boyfriend for three months—I won’t break my word.”
Fu Yunshen gently patted my head. My feelings were complicated.
After buying everything, we returned home. Although the sun was shining warmly on the way back, I felt a chill.
Grandpa looked at my new tricycle with concern, scolding me for spending recklessly.
I knew he worried I’d spend all my money and have none left to buy meat.
“Don’t worry, Grandpa. I still have plenty saved. The old tricycle was so unsafe. This one is better. Come try it out!”
After unloading the groceries, I pushed Grandpa on the tricycle for a test ride. After a round, his eyes lit up with delight—it seemed he really liked it.
After dinner, Fu Yunshen told Grandpa and Grandma about his plans to return.
Grandma said, “Xiaoyu, why don’t you go back with Little Fu? You’ll have company.”
Grandpa added, “Yes, Grandma and I are fine here. You should go back with Little Fu, find a job, and settle down properly. He’s a good grandson-in-law—you won’t find another like him!”
I was a bit stunned—how did the conversation turn to me?
“I’m not in a rush to go back. I want to spend more time here with you all.”
Grandpa said, “We don’t need your company here. You should go back with Little Fu and get your life sorted. That’s what matters most.”
Grandma nodded in agreement, “Yes, go back with Little Fu.”

Events always unfold unexpectedly. In the end, urged by Grandpa and Grandma, I agreed to return to Jing City with Fu Yunshen.
I had to admit, the wealthy are bold. When a sleek black car pulled up to the house—no idea what brand, but clearly high-end—I was stunned.
Fu Yunshen was calm. “Taking the motorbike, taxi, and bus is too much hassle. I just had my assistant pick us up.”
Grandpa and Grandma, though unfamiliar with cars, sensed the vehicle was expensive.
Grandpa said, “Little Fu, this red envelope is from Grandma and me. It’s not much, but it’s a token of our affection. Please accept it and take good care of Xiaoyu.”
Hearing Grandpa’s words, my eyes stung with tears. Although I grew up with them, their love for me was immense.
After much insistence, Fu Yunshen accepted the envelope.
As the car pulled away, Fu Yunshen handed me the envelope.
“Here.”
The moment I saw it, I fought back tears; not wanting to be seen, I hurriedly wiped them away.
“This is our custom here. When bringing home a son-in-law, if accepted, they give a red envelope. It’s Grandpa and Grandma’s approval—please accept it.”
Fu Yunshen looked at my moist eyes, took the envelope, and gently brushed the corner of my eye.
“Don’t be sad. I’ll bring you back to visit them often.”
Though I knew it was just comforting words, a faint hope stirred within me.
Fu Yunshen was really good at playing the boyfriend role. If the system hadn’t reminded me when my affection value changed, I might have been fooled again.
Since I last asked the system twice, it said it would alert me whenever my affection changed. No alert meant no change—it was still zero.
The journey was long, and I soon immersed myself in exploring the car’s comforts.
Inside, it was spacious and the seats were so soft it felt like lying in bed. There were all kinds of drinks and snacks. This wasn’t a car—it was paradise.
“Fu Yunshen, how much did you pay for this car?”
“Ten million.”
I was stunned. Competing with the rich was hopeless. Who in their right mind would spend ten million on a car?
“Sis-in-law, if you like this car, just let Brother Fu give it to you.”
The driver spoke up from the front seat, and I suddenly remembered we weren’t alone in the car. But I was more interested in the way he addressed me.
“Sis-in-law? Did Fu Yunshen tell you to call me that?”
Before the driver could answer, Fu Yunshen grabbed my face and forced me to look at him.
“He calls me ‘brother.’ You’re my girlfriend, so he calls you ‘sis-in-law.’ What’s wrong with that?”
I rolled my eyes. “Nothing at all. Very reasonable.”
Satisfied, Fu Yunshen released me, a cryptic smile playing at his lips.
Fang Yanzhou, the driver, glanced in the rearview mirror at our interaction and clicked his tongue. Brother Fu really cared—she must be the real sis-in-law.
Fu Yunshen’s car was so comfortable that I dozed off, waking only to eat, then sleeping again... before I knew it, we had arrived in Jing City.
I had traveled the road between Yun County and Jing City countless times, but this was by far the most comfortable trip.
The car stopped, and Fu Yunshen looked at me.
“Xiaoyu, I need to handle some things at the company. Do you want to come with me, or wait in the car?”
His eyes were dark as ink, gazing softly at me. Was he this gentle with all his girlfriends?
“I’ll wait in the car.”
I didn’t want to risk being recognized at Fu Corporation.
“Okay, go to the parking lot first. I’ll be done soon and come find you.”
I nodded. The door opened, Fu Yunshen stepped out, and I spotted someone familiar. Startled, I quickly shut the door.
Thankfully, Fu Yunshen’s car was quite private; no one could see inside. Hopefully, that brief moment wasn’t noticed.
Seeing me flustered, Fang Yanzhou looked puzzled. “Sis-in-law, what’s wrong?”
I waved it off. “Nothing. Let’s head to the parking lot.”
Nothing really—just running into an old boss, a venomous beauty.
As the car pulled away, through the window I saw Lin Li, dressed in a sexy, professional white-collar outfit, standing close to Fu Yunshen. They looked like they were whispering secrets, their intimacy unmistakable.
