Volume 1, Chapter 9: Are you possessed by the God of Wei?
"Damn it! Is this Sion insane? Does he only know how to push towers?"
"Disgusting! This Chinese player is playing so disgustingly. Why would the Chinese national team choose someone like this? And he's the captain!"
"Brothers, pull yourselves together. Our Korean players have excellent on-the-spot adjustment skills. As long as we hold on a little longer, they will definitely be able to punish this Sion!"
On the Divine Arena, when that blue cyclone suddenly lit up, all the Korean viewers in the livestream burst into a frenzy, hurling insults at Wang Yaozu through the screen.
In contrast, the Chinese viewers were filled with excitement and laughter.
"666! Captain Wang is just too good! Using Ghost to take a tower, using his ultimate to take a tower, using Teleport to take a tower—he's just obsessed with taking towers!"
"It's not even eight minutes in, and Korea's first blood tower is about to fall. How are they supposed to play now?"
"Didn't the Korean viewers keep saying their defensive towers would never be threatened by the Chinese team? Open your dog eyes and take a good look—your first blood tower is about to fall!"
"They're panicking, they're panicking, hahaha! The Korean viewers are panicking! I love it when they hate Captain Wang but can't do anything to stop him!"
The Chinese viewers were ecstatic. Although they didn't know the final outcome of the match yet, one thing was certain: this was the best, most dominant, and most satisfying early game any of the ten Chinese teams had seen since the start of the 8th Divine Arena. And the person bringing this hope and surprise to all of China was none other than the captain of the Qilin team, Wang Yaozu.
"One hit! Two hits! Three..."
"Hmm? This guy dares to taunt me with [Durand Shield]? Does he really think that turret can kill me?"
On the Divine Arena, Wang Yaozu, having finished his teleport, couldn't see the barrage of messages from the audience. Even if the arena hadn't blocked them, he likely would have ignored them anyway. After all, at this moment, the only thing in Wang Yaozu’s eyes was the defensive tower.
What Wang Yaozu hadn't expected, however, was that although only one plating remained on the tower and he had the Demolish rune, the opposing Galio seemed stubborn. He didn't intend to just hand over his tower, so as soon as Sion landed two hits, he triggered [Durand Shield].
After being taunted, Sion couldn't continue attacking the tower and was forced to turn around and swing at Galio, successfully drawing the tower's aggro.
Galio, not letting up, immediately followed up with [Winds of War] and [Justice Punch] to chain damage and crowd control, attempting to whittle down more of Sion's health.
Sion, however, completely ignored Galio's clownish behavior. Although the tower's damage was indeed high—reducing Sion to half health in a few hits, and with Galio's damage bringing his health bar down to a quarter—Sion only had one goal: wait for the taunt to end and swing his axe into the tower one more time.
Boom!
With the Demolish rune already fully charged, the next moment, the middle defensive tower of the Samsung team collapsed with a crash!
[The Blue team has destroyed the first turret!]
The deafening notification echoed throughout the Divine Arena, instantly igniting the emotions of all Chinese viewers and sending the Chinese commentators into a frenzy.
"First blood tower!"
"Through wave after wave of pressure, Captain Wang has finally pushed down the Samsung team's middle tower! And it looks like player Park Crown is completely powerless to stop it!"
"Yes! Yes! This is fantastic! If I recall correctly, this is the first time a Chinese team has secured the first blood tower against a Korean team since the start of this year's Divine Arena!"
"As the saying goes, a good start is half the battle. With this first blood tower in the bag, I believe there's a high probability that the Qilin team will take the victory in this match!"
The Chinese commentator said with immense excitement. If not for his professional restraint, he might have been in tears on the spot. After all, what Wang Yaozu had secured wasn't just the first blood tower of a formidable Korean team, but the possibility of victory and the last hope for the entire Chinese team to avoid elimination!
"Tsk, tsk, tsk. It's just a first blood tower. Look at how excited you Chinese are."
"But I can't blame you. After all, you’ve never had an early-game advantage before, so it’s understandable that you’d treat a first blood tower like a championship."
"It’s just a pity. To get this tower, your Sion has been beaten down to a sliver of health by Park Crown."
"Once Park Crown takes this kill, he’ll have three kills under his belt and will be able to completely take over the game!"
The Korean commentator sneered. Even though they were clearly rattled by Wang Yaozu’s Sion, he believed that as long as Galio secured enough kills and built up an item advantage, every hero on the Qilin team, including Sion, would become fodder for the Samsung team.
On the Divine Arena, seeing Sion's precarious health, Park Crown naturally realized this and decided to chase him to the end.
"Hmm? Trying to kill me?"
Wang Yaozu chuckled, quickly analyzing the situation. The enemy tower was gone, but the next wave of minions hadn't arrived yet. If he died now, it would be for nothing.
"Brothers, I'm not giving him this kill. I'm popping Ghost to get out of here."
Wang Yaozu said cheerfully to his teammates, immediately activating his Ghost spell—which had a shorter cooldown—and retreating toward his own tower.
"Siba! You like feeding, don't you? Why aren't you feeding now?!"
Seeing this, Park Crown felt his mind go blank. He had expected an easy kill, never imagining that the opposing Sion wouldn't give him the chance.
"Fast! Fast!"
Seeing Sion moving faster and faster, Park Crown was frantic. When his [Justice Punch] finally came off cooldown, he didn't hesitate, flashing forward and attempting to chain his skills!
But the next moment, the entire Divine Canyon fell into dead silence, and even the livestream chat went quiet.
Because no one had expected that after flashing, Park Crown's Galio would miss his [Justice Punch] on the low-health Sion... instead, he performed a reverse dash, moving even further away!
Not only did he fail to secure the kill, but he had turned himself into an absolute laughingstock!
