Volume One, Chapter Seven: Cain Cannot Be Allowed to Be So Arrogant Anymore
"6666!"
"Captain, you're a legend!"
"Captain? That move was absolutely brilliant!"
"No wonder you didn't need me to counter-gank; you were confident you could turn the tables!"
Unlike the South Korean players and audience, the teammates of the Qilin team felt their heavy anxiety vanish the moment they heard the two consecutive notifications from the mid-lane. They were replaced by sheer delight.
If it were any other Chinese team, a mid-laner who got caught and killed by a gank would often have to swallow their pride, frustrated by their poor warding. But with Wang Yaozu, even though he was taken down by the enemy's gank, he used the unique mechanics of Sion to secure a counter-kill on his opponent. Such a breakthrough was a massive surprise, not just for the Qilin team, but for all Chinese teams.
"Haha, just basic operations. I knew they’d come over to hand-deliver a kill."
"After all, not everyone can defend against my 'Inting Sion' playstyle."
Wang Yaozu laughed heartily. Back on Earth, he had used this very strategy to take down countless high-ranking Galio players on the Korean server. Now, these "pro players" were nothing more than gold-level noobs; how could they possibly withstand the power of a Sion "zombie"?
"But come to think of it, you were all silent earlier—did you actually think I was just feeding?" Wang Yaozu asked the group with a chuckle.
"No, no, no! We wouldn't dare doubt the captain; we were just genuinely startled," his teammates quickly denied. They didn't expect to be met with an even more smug laugh from Wang Yaozu.
"Haha, then you misunderstood. In this game, I really *am* intentionally feeding!" Wang Yaozu declared with a laugh. Before his teammates could express their confusion, he immediately explained. "But I can tell you this: the more they come to gank me, and the more times I die, the faster they’ll lose!"
Wang Yaozu spoke with conviction, seizing the moment to reveal his true plan. Team morale was vital; if he kept "feeding" without his teammates knowing his true purpose, they would not only suffer a mental breakdown, but their performance would also crumble, and the entire Qilin team would fall like a house of cards.
"U-Understood..."
"In that case, the Qilin team won't be eliminated, and all of China can breathe a sigh of relief!"
Although they still didn't fully grasp Wang Yaozu's intention, when his teammates glanced at the mid-lane stats and saw that the enemy Galio had a pitiful 7 CS (creep score) while Sion had reached an astonishing 15, hope for victory finally ignited in their hearts.
"A chance? It's a guaranteed win!"
"As long as you all play your roles and don't die too much, just sit back and watch my performance!"
Wang Yaozu said with supreme confidence before updating his items and stepping out of the fountain once more.
...
"Tiamat! I never expected Wang Yaozu to have enough gold for a Tiamat in just over three minutes!"
"Could it be that mid-lane Sion is the ace up Wang Yaozu's sleeve?"
"If he can keep playing like this, China really has a chance!"
It wasn't just the Qilin team; when the Chinese commentators saw Sion pick up a Tiamat and recalled his brilliant performance over the last three minutes, they finally felt a surge of infinite hope for victory.
"Hmph, it's only been three minutes."
"The reason mid-lane Sion got an advantage is simply because our player wasn't familiar with him."
"But now that we know what he's doing, Sion won't be getting any more advantages... Wait! Ghost summoner spell?! Is this Sion insane?!"
Just as the South Korean commentator was locking horns with his Chinese counterpart, he suddenly exclaimed in shock. He knew that even when Sion was ganked earlier, he hadn't used his "Ghost" spell. But now, to reach the lane faster, he wasn't walking like Galio... he was literally sprinting!
At that moment, not only the Korean commentators and audience but even the Chinese ones were left in shock, unable to fathom why Wang Yaozu would be so wasteful. But soon, Wang Yaozu provided a perfect explanation through his actions.
Seconds later, the sprinting Sion arrived at the lane at lightning speed, catching the next wave of red-side minions perfectly. When he activated "Soul Furnace," "Roar of the Slayer," and the active effect of his "Tiamat," the massive wave of minions simply vanished into thin air.
Following that, Sion led a completely untouched blue-side minion wave and swaggered toward the red team's first mid-lane turret. As for Park Hwang-guan's Galio? He had only just reached the second mid-lane turret!
*Clang, clang, clang, clang, BOOM!*
When Park Hwang-guan saw the demolition runes appearing around his turret and heard that rhythmic sound effect again, he felt his heart bleeding.
"Aishibah!"
"This despicable Chinese player, how can he play so dirty?!"
Park Hwang-guan cursed through gritted teeth as he rushed back, burning with anxiety. Only now did he fully realize why Wang Yaozu had chosen such an incredibly niche mid-lane hero: Sion! It wasn't for anything else—it was for taking down towers!
If he couldn't defend his mid-lane turret... the consequences for the Samsung team would be unthinkable.
"Captain Hwang... should I go gank him again?" the Samsung team's jungler, An Jun-hyeok, asked, having seen the heartbreaking scene in the mid-lane. He had just tearfully farmed a wave of mid-lane minions and jungle resources, so his Xin Zhao was actually doing quite well.
"Come! We can't let this Sion keep being so arrogant!"
"Only by crushing him completely can we stop him from being a threat to us!"
Park Hwang-guan responded with deep hatred. By the time his Galio returned to the lane, Sion had already eaten two layers of his turret plating and was now ignoring him entirely, heading toward the gap between the second turret and the jungle to intercept the next wave of minions.
Facing this, Park Hwang-guan could only seethe with resentment, utterly helpless as he watched Sion continue to cut off his minion waves. After all, if he went to deal with Sion, he would lose all the blue-side minions crashing into his own turret!
