“Little Dragon, let’s go. The mission is complete.”

Su Mu emerged from the cave, refreshed and clear-headed, calling out to the little dragon in the sky.

The little dragon descended and knelt on one knee, signaling Su Mu and Sword Slash to climb aboard.

“Human, you think you can leave just because you killed the Ice Lake Demon Spider? This is the territory of Overlord Wang Yu. Do you believe you can come and go as you please?”

At that moment, a cold voice sounded behind Su Mu.

He turned to see a witch clad in a black robe standing silently by his side. Her figure was hidden beneath the voluminous garment, but her face was undoubtedly the most stunning he had ever seen in his life.

Silver-white hair framed a pair of sapphire-blue eyes that shimmered brighter than the purest gemstones. In her hand, she held a crystal orb, and a cold wind lifted the hem of her robe, revealing a pristine ankle.

Under the blood moon, she exuded a strange, captivating beauty—hard to believe such allure existed among the creatures of darkness.

Yet, no matter how beautiful, she remained the enemy, destined to be slain.

Moreover, behind the witch stood an entire battalion of Flame Spirit Knights.

Their bodies were wreathed in fire, their spears blazing with scorching light, scorching the ground wherever they stepped.

The oppressive heat filled the entire valley, thick and suffocating.

But that was not all.

From the pitch-black depths of darkness, countless shadowy creatures stirred, emanating a powerful and malevolent aura.

An ancient, mournful horn echoed through the dark land, its sound seemingly holding dominion over the shadow realm.

At the horn’s call, countless dark beings, regardless of their strength, surged like a tide toward the direction of the Demon Ice Lake.

Even Su Mu, standing by the lake, felt the heavy tension pressing down.

Su Mu activated his holographic eye to survey the enemy forces.

A torrent of detailed data flowed before his eyes.

His heart sank further with each passing moment.

Despite every precaution, the dark creatures here had been alerted.

How could he possibly defeat so many?

Even if he fought until his hands grew weary, the battle would never end.

Yet, there was no other choice. They were surrounded. Without carving a bloody path out, they would surely perish here.

Su Mu’s gaze sharpened with excitement. His expression twisted into a grimace, a faint smile curling at the corners of his mouth.

A warrior by nature, he thrived in crises. The closer to death, the more exhilarated he became; even if beheaded, he would fight to the last breath.

He did not yet realize he possessed such a temperament—his mind had become as still as water.

To him, these dark creatures were no longer terrifying monsters, but strings of experience points, irresistibly enticing.

“What’s that fool smiling about? Has he gone mad under the power of our dark race?”

Witch Nana frowned in displeasure. She detested humans showing such expressions before the might of dark creatures.

Humans were the weakest in the shadow world. They should feel fear, tremble, or cry—not laugh.

A sharp flash of swordlight suddenly slashed toward Witch Nana’s neck.

Su Mu understood the principle of “capture the leader first” better than anyone. His first strike was aimed squarely at the witch.

In his eyes, this woman commanded the entire army; killing her would make the battle far easier.

Unfortunately, Nana’s power exceeded his expectations. With a swift motion, she flew upward, evading the sword.

“Damn humans! How dare you ambush me?”

“Flame Spirit Knights, charge! Annihilate these despicable humans!”

From the sky, Witch Nana cursed at Su Mu before beginning her incantation.

“In the name of the Heavenly Father, seal the entire sky.”

“In the name of the Earth Mother, lock the ground below.”

“In the name of the Dark God, slay all formidable foes.”

...

Instantly, the sky was sealed by dark magic, and the earth below likewise.

A vast black spiderweb of dark magic ensnared them tightly.

Under the assault of this dark magic, the little dragon writhed in agony, its body violently shaking and unable to continue flying.

Su Mu sensed a powerful force entangling him, his strength rapidly waning.

“An ability like mine that can weaken the opponent... I wonder if the Holy Light Shield can break this curse!”

Su Mu was astonished and immediately summoned the Holy Light Guardian Shield, a brilliant white light radiating outwards, enveloping him in a two-thousand-meter radius.

So dazzling was the light that even the Flame Spirit Knights preparing to attack had to halt.

The malevolent power dissolved swiftly under the sacred radiance, and Su Mu’s strength returned.

He exhaled deeply in relief.

But when his eyes fell on the little dragon in the sky, they burned with renewed intensity.

The little dragon had flown too high, beyond the shield’s protection, struggling desperately in a cloud of black mist, like a child trapped in quicksand.

Suddenly, a terrifying roar erupted. Black flames of scorching heat ignited around the little dragon, and the evil power it encountered instantly transformed into nourishment, absorbed into its body.

With a mighty roar, the dragon broke free and lunged toward the witch in the sky, spewing a torrent of blazing dragon fire.

“Alert! It’s the Hellfire Dragon! Dodge!” Witch Nana shouted in alarm before vanishing into thin air.

At that moment, the Flame Spirit Knights charged wildly toward Su Mu atop their steeds.

“Sword Slash, fight alongside me and slay these monsters! Tonight, success or death!”

Su Mu seemed transported back to that night in the Zombie Valley, standing shoulder to shoulder with Sword Slash, wielding his greatsword as he surged forward to meet the Flame Spirit Knights head-on.
