Tap—tap—tap!
The Platinum Rank 9 Headless Knight was less than three kilometers from Su Mu. Death was drawing ever closer.
Su Mu drew his woodcutter’s axe, fully prepared for a desperate battle.
Draw-Cut was now Platinum Rank 4, while Little Divine Dragon was Platinum Rank 3. Even together, they might not be a match for the Headless Knight.
At the crucial moment, he would still have to fight on his own.
If death comes, let it come. What was there to fear?
Boom!
The Headless Knight finally entered Draw-Cut’s attack range.
Draw-Cut, who had been fighting, suddenly shook his massive body. As though sensing the arrival of a formidable foe, he slowly turned around and began walking toward the Headless Knight, dragging his heavy greatsword behind him.
Su Mu was suddenly moved. He knew that although Draw-Cut could not speak, he possessed a mind of his own.
Draw-Cut knew that, with his Platinum Rank 4 strength, he was no match for the Headless Knight. Yet he went anyway.
The battle erupted without warning!
Draw-Cut began with a slow walk, then broke into a run. In a flash, he reached the Headless Knight and swung his greatsword three times in rapid succession.
The Headless Knight’s assault came to an abrupt halt, and his warhorse retreated several steps.
But he was unharmed. Draw-Cut’s attacks had failed to inflict any substantial damage.
The Headless Knight immediately plunged forward, driving his lance viciously into Draw-Cut’s body.
Boom!
Draw-Cut was sent flying seven or eight meters before crashing heavily to the ground. His armor had already shattered.
Draw-Cut had lost. He was simply no match for the Headless Knight.
The Headless Knight ignored the defeated Draw-Cut and urged his horse onward toward Su Mu.
Su Mu was his primary target. As long as Su Mu was killed, all of his pets would die as well.
But then—
Draw-Cut, already wounded, staggered back to his feet. After running a few steps, he charged the Headless Knight and delivered another slash.
This blow was even fiercer. The Headless Knight’s undead warhorse reared violently, nearly throwing its rider from the saddle.
The Headless Knight flew into a rage. He wheeled his horse around and charged straight at Draw-Cut, his lance aimed directly at Draw-Cut’s heart.
As fellow undead, he knew that piercing Draw-Cut’s heart would kill the skeleton warrior instantly.
“Little Divine Dragon, go help Draw-Cut. Don’t worry about me.”
Su Mu suddenly gave Little Divine Dragon an order, which meant exposing himself to danger.

Without Little Divine Dragon’s help, Su Mu would have to deal with an endless horde of Dark Flame Lizards, all of them Dark Creatures at Silver Rank 6.
All Su Mu could rely on was the Holy Light Altar and a woodcutter’s axe.
“Wuuuuh!”
Little Divine Dragon seemed deeply reluctant, but he still resolutely flapped his wings and flew toward Draw-Cut.
He was a battle pet. He had to obey Su Mu’s orders.
Boom!
The moment Little Divine Dragon reached the sky above the Headless Knight, he opened his mouth and unleashed a stream of dragonfire.
The terrifying dragonfire forced the Headless Knight several steps backward. He seemed extremely wary of it.
The flames in Draw-Cut’s eyes surged. He charged forward and followed up with three more slashes.
[Successfully injured the Platinum Rank 9 Headless Knight, dealing 3,000 damage and granting 3,000 experience points.]
Draw-Cut had finally managed to injure the Headless Knight.
Boom!
The Headless Knight naturally wanted to resume his assault, but Little Divine Dragon blasted him with another breath of dragonfire, forcing him back several steps.
Slash, slash, slash!
Draw-Cut struck three more times!
[Successfully injured the Platinum Rank 9 Headless Knight, dealing 3,000 damage and granting 3,000 experience points.]
Boom!
Slash, slash, slash!
[Successfully injured the Platinum Rank 9 Headless Knight, dealing 5,000 damage and granting 5,000 experience points.]
It was their first time fighting together, yet Little Divine Dragon and Draw-Cut worked together flawlessly.
A mid-level Platinum Rank 9 boss had actually been pinned down by the combined efforts of these two warriors. Despite possessing overwhelming strength, he could not bring it to bear and could only endure their attacks helplessly.
[Successfully injured the Platinum Rank 9 Headless Knight, dealing 8,000 damage and granting 8,000 experience points.]
[Successfully injured the Platinum Rank 9 Headless Knight, dealing 10,000 damage and granting 10,000 experience points.]
The more Draw-Cut fought, the braver he became, and his strength continued to rise. The Headless Knight, however, was growing weaker by the moment. If things continued this way, his destruction would only be a matter of time.
Now it was time to deal with the crisis on Su Mu’s side.
Su Mu withdrew his gaze.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The savage Dark Flame Lizards had already begun attacking him. Each was more ferocious than the last, surging forward in a desperate scramble to kill him. Some had even begun tearing one another apart.

Some turned around and bit their own companions. Others leaped onto the backs of their fellows, piling up layer upon layer like a human pyramid. In an instant, they formed a monstrous wall dozens of meters high and surged toward Su Mu.
The area protected by the holy light had already been compressed to less than ten meters.
Su Mu could smell the fetid stench radiating from the monsters.
As far as the eye could see, monsters crowded the land.
This crisis was even more severe than the Zombie Valley incident. Back then, he had faced only Bronze Rank zombies, and there had been merely a few dozen of them.
This time, every one of them was Silver Rank 6—and there were tens of thousands of them. Or perhaps they were endless, since the War Tree was still churning them out at an insane rate.
Su Mu’s scalp went numb. Even the hand gripping his axe trembled slightly. Faced with so many monsters, how was he supposed to fight?
At that moment, the system’s voice suddenly rang out.
[System Reward: In recognition of the host’s steadfast heart as a lord and his refusal to abandon his comrades at a critical moment, the system awards him a divine weapon.]
[Name: Raging-Fire Gatling]
[Category: Growth-Type Divine Weapon]
[Function: A monster-slaying divine weapon. One bullet eliminates one monster. Not a single bullet will be wasted. It comes with an automatic sight, and every shot hits its mark.]
[Number of Bullets: Infinite]
[Bullet Power: Determined by the host’s own attack power. If the host’s attack power is 10,000, each bullet will have an attack power of 10,000. If the host’s attack power is 300,000, each bullet will have an attack power of 300,000.]
[Initial Bullet Setting: Attack power 3,000—the equivalent of Silver Rank 3 attack power.]
[Additional Effect: Every enemy eliminated by the Gatling adds attack points to the host. The more enemies he kills, the stronger his attack power becomes.]
[Restriction: The weapon may fire continuously for five minutes. After five minutes, the host must choose his own method of battle.]
[Will the host accept?]
???
The system was giving him a reward?
Su Mu was stunned for a moment, then erupted with joy.
This reward had come at exactly the right time. He was on the verge of being devoured by this horde of foul monsters when the system had suddenly chosen to grant him a reward.
And it was a monster-slaying divine weapon called the Raging-Fire Gatling. Just hearing the name made it sound terrifyingly powerful. Everyone knew how devastating a Gatling gun’s firepower could be.
Although each bullet currently had only 3,000 points of destructive power, the ammunition was infinite. Wiping out all these minor monsters, each only Silver Rank 6, would surely take no more than a few minutes.
