Chapter Fourteen: The Final Mask

The decline of the Deep Blue Alliance was evident after the summit. Joint investigations by multiple national regulatory agencies had pushed the offshore companies’ financial chains to the brink of collapse, while internal leadership was fracturing. Yet at this critical moment, Xu Yunchuan realized that the Deep Blue Alliance had not entirely lost its ability to fight back.
“They still have one last trump card,” Xu Yunchuan said during the emergency meeting at Shen Group. “And this card might catch us completely off guard.”

The Prelude to a Desperate Counterattack
Three days after the summit, the technology department of Shen Group began receiving a series of warning letters accusing the company’s new generation solid-state battery of plagiarizing core technologies. The letters even threatened legal action against Shen Group.
Shen Qingwan slammed the letters on the table in anger. “This is obviously a setup! All our technology patents have been legally certified; how could we have stolen from them?”
Zhao Ming analyzed, “Judging from the content, these letters seem more like the Deep Blue Alliance’s last desperate struggle. They are trying to use a media war to buy time, hoping to recover their financial chains.”
“Delay tactics will work against us,” Xu Yunchuan said calmly. “But if we can uncover the puppet master behind them, we can end this once and for all.”
Shen Qingwan asked, “You mean the true mastermind behind the Deep Blue Alliance?”
Xu Yunchuan nodded. “Yes, Lister is just a frontman. There’s a bigger shadow behind him.”

Hunting the Puppet Master
Using offshore company data provided by Wu Jie, Xu Yunchuan noticed a fund flow directed to a mysterious investor—Henry Calvin. This man was a major shareholder of the Deep Blue Alliance but had almost never appeared in public.
“Henry Calvin—that name might be the key,” Xu Yunchuan said. “We need to learn more about him.”
Zhao Ming immediately took action, contacting a friend familiar with European financial circles to obtain background information on Calvin.
“This man is an invisible giant in the financial world,” Zhao Ming explained. “He controls the Deep Blue Alliance through a complex web of equity structures and is connected to many gray industries.”
“Gray industries?” Shen Qingwan frowned. “Such as?”

“Illegal mining, money laundering, even arms trading,” Zhao Ming replied. “These are likely important sources of the Deep Blue Alliance’s funding.”
“If we can expose these transaction chains, Calvin will have nowhere to hide,” Xu Yunchuan said. “But we need more evidence.”
---
Raiding the Transaction Site
According to the clues, Calvin was holding a secret meeting in a small Swiss town recently. The topic involved the Deep Blue Alliance’s plan for financial restructuring.
“This is our only chance,” Xu Yunchuan said. “If we can get the contents of this meeting, we can fully reveal Calvin’s true face.”
Shen Qingwan asked with concern, “How do you plan to do that? The security for such secret meetings must be extremely tight.”
“I will lead a covert team to infiltrate it,” Xu Yunchuan said. “But I’ll need you to provide support from outside.”
---
The Operation Begins
That night, Xu Yunchuan and Ling Yun, along with a small team equipped with electronic reconnaissance devices, quietly infiltrated the meeting location—a luxurious villa at the foot of the Alps.
The villa was surrounded by security personnel. Xu Yunchuan used equipment to disrupt the surveillance system and successfully entered the villa. They installed miniature bugs in the ventilation ducts outside the meeting room.
During the meeting, Calvin was discussing with several executives how to use fake acquisitions to transfer funds and evade investigation.
“So it really is a money laundering scheme,” Ling Yun whispered. “This time we have enough evidence.”
However, as they prepared to withdraw, the villa’s security system suddenly reactivated. The guards discovered their intrusion, and alarms blared throughout the villa.

“Move quickly!” Xu Yunchuan ordered quietly, instructing the team to retreat.
They dashed out of the villa but were blocked by a security squad at the mountain’s base. Gunshots shattered the quiet night. Ling Yun returned fire swiftly, covering the team’s withdrawal.
“We can’t get caught!” Ling Yun shouted. “Otherwise, the whole plan will be ruined.”
Xu Yunchuan calmly directed the team to take a detour and requested Shen Qingwan’s support via radio. Eventually, they managed to evade pursuit and returned safely to Zurich.
---
Explosive Exposure
The next day, Xu Yunchuan handed over the recorded meeting audio to international investigative agencies and leaked the Deep Blue Alliance’s money laundering scheme and Calvin’s role as puppet master to the media.
The news exploded like a bombshell worldwide. The Deep Blue Alliance’s stock prices plummeted instantly, and Calvin himself was placed on Interpol’s most wanted list.
“This time, they have no chance to recover,” Shen Qingwan said.
“But our fight isn’t over yet,” Xu Yunchuan replied. “We must ensure the remnants of the Deep Blue Alliance can never threaten the industry’s future again.”
---
The Dawn of the Conclusion
With Calvin on the run, the Deep Blue Alliance’s power gradually crumbled. Yet Xu Yunchuan knew that behind this struggle lay even more complex entanglements of interest waiting to be unraveled.
“Next, we must not only consolidate our position but also completely change the industry’s rules,” Xu Yunchuan said with firm resolve. “This is our opportunity—and our responsibility.”
