Chapter Nineteen: You Actually Despise Him
Xuanyuan Tunhan was utterly stunned.
Ning Xianyu clung to him like a koala, pressing her own body against his, as if determined to use herself to fuse with him. Her lips, emboldened by success, returned for more, as if addicted to his touch. Even as she busily showered him with kisses, she did not forget to speak.
“Sister, I like you. You look so much like me, and you also…” Her words were abruptly cut off.
Xuanyuan Tunhan covered her mouth before she could continue, sealing her with a binding spell. With a swift motion, he tossed her onto the soft couch, rendering her unable to move. He shook his hand and cast another spell to cleanse his entire body, wiping his fingers with evident distaste.
No sooner had he finished than Lady Moonlight across from him was struck dumb with shock.
“You—who are you, that you dare to disdain Xuanyuan Tunhan?” Her astonishment was compounded by someone daring to compete with her for him, but even more so by this sudden woman’s audacity to reject Xuanyuan Tunhan.
Unlike others, Lady Moonlight saw that the woman before her was only at the Qi Refining stage, yet dared not underestimate her. Her instincts screamed that this woman was far more than she appeared. Standing before her, Lady Moonlight felt as if she faced a roaring tide, an oppressive force pressing down.
But whatever the case, she was not about to surrender Xuanyuan Tunhan. This was her Flower Melody Island, her domain.
Xuanyuan Tunhan looked at Lady Moonlight coldly, sneering, “So you’re not dead after all.”
Lady Moonlight paused. “You know me?”
She could not recall anyone among the old monsters she knew who fit this woman’s description.
“Did you seize a body, or…” Lady Moonlight’s excitement rose. Perhaps this was some old monster who had found a way to be reborn, to regain youth. If that were so, she had to obtain this method for herself. Her lifelong ambition, aside from ascension, was to start anew—she would not let any opportunity slip by.
Xuanyuan Tunhan, however, said little more, only uttering coldly, “You should have died long ago.”
With that, he struck out with his palm.
His technique was fierce and domineering, sending Lady Moonlight flying. Already at her limits, she suffered a violent shock to her soul from the blow.
Knowing precisely where her weakness lay, Xuanyuan Tunhan lashed out with a soul attack. Lady Moonlight nearly lost her soul from the impact, barely managing to shield her spirit and stabilize herself.
She immediately realized she was no match for him, abandoned any thought of fighting back, and instead turned her attention to Xuanyuan Tunhan, who lay on the soft couch.
Xuanyuan Tunhan had already succumbed to her Flower Passion Poison. If given time to absorb his energy and stabilize her cultivation, she could return and deal with the unexpected woman later.
---
Lady Moonlight released a cloud of intoxicating smoke from her sleeve, seizing the chance to approach Xuanyuan Tunhan.
Ning Xianyu, still confused, saw her coming and thought the beauty was throwing herself at him. She moved forward to join in, but before she could reach them, Xuanyuan Tunhan struck her with his palm. The soft couch was instantly reduced to powder, and she collapsed to the floor.
This woman was truly troublesome.
Lady Moonlight, too, was sent flying by the previous blow.
In the blink of an eye, Xuanyuan Tunhan appeared before Ning Xianyu, shielding her, then launched another attack.
The two exchanged blows inside the room.

Meanwhile, in the arena, the Jade Immortal Sect had just won a match.
They should have been celebrating, but the disciples felt uneasy. The sect leader and the patriarch were both absent, leaving them unsure what to do.
Only they remained, facing the fury of the other sect leaders, which made them nervous.
Someone asked Jade Yaozi, “Senior Brother, where have the patriarch and sect leader gone?”
The opposing sect leaders’ eyes seemed ready to devour them. They probably felt that, for such an important competition, the absence of Jade Immortal Sect’s leaders was a sign of contempt.
How outrageous! Even if you are the top sect, you cannot disregard them so.
Lord Mo Yu lounged in his chair, snorting coldly. Jade Yaozi and the others felt as if they’d suffered internal injuries from his attitude.
Shangguan Xuan Yue, however, gazed toward the island, suspecting things were not so simple.
He rose, looking for an excuse to leave, but Qi Chengfeng grabbed him.
“Sect Leader Shangguan, where are you going?”
Shangguan Xuan Yue smiled, “Sect Leader Dujuezi went to change his robes and hasn’t returned. I intend to do the same.”
Change robes?
Qi Chengfeng sneered, “Since when did you become so close with Dujuezi? He changes, and you change too?”
Shangguan Xuan Yue’s expression soured, “What, must I have your permission to change robes?”
“Not at all. But if you wish to change, so do I. Why not go together?” Qi Chengfeng said, but did not release his grip, making a show of standing up as well.
Shangguan Xuan Yue was about to shake him off when Dujuezi returned.
He had indeed changed into a new set of robes, rushing back in haste. “Forgive my rudeness.”
Seeing Shangguan Xuan Yue and Qi Chengfeng about to leave, he was puzzled. “What’s happened with you two, Sect Leaders?”
Qi Chengfeng sneered, “Sect Leader Shangguan hasn’t seen you for a while and missed you, so he was about to look for you. Dujuezi, where did you go?”
---
Dujuezi smiled, “Just changing my robes.”
He sat back down.
Impossible, Qi Chengfeng thought, glancing toward the interior of the island, tempted to send out his spiritual senses.
But Flower Melody Island was surrounded by deep barriers, difficult for anyone to penetrate. Today, the barrier was even heavier; even he could not see through it.
Things were surely not so simple.
Shangguan Xuan Yue could only sit back down, occasionally glancing at Dujuezi and then at the heart of Flower Melody Island.
With Dujuezi’s return, the confidence of Jade Immortal Sect’s disciples soared. With no more worries, their fighting prowess increased.
Dujuezi seemed in high spirits, apparently pleased with the disciples’ victory.
Yet, he kept wondering—perhaps Lady Moonlight had succeeded?
Within the barrier protecting Lady Moonlight’s residence on Flower Melody Island, chaos reigned.
Lady Moonlight had instructed her disciples to stay away, using the sect’s treasured artifact to reinforce the barrier. She feared that during the absorption process, spiritual energy might leak out, attracting others. She also worried about being ambushed, and losing everything.
Without the barrier, the disciples of Flower Melody Island would surely have realized something was amiss.
Yi Tianling, armed with a magical treasure from Su Yun’er, navigated obstacles as if the place were deserted and arrived here.
He rummaged in his storage pouch, withdrew an artifact and hung it at his waist, then entered the barrier directly.
He had received Su Yun’er’s message that Lady Moonlight was about to absorb Xuanyuan Tunhan’s energy. At this moment, she was most vulnerable to interference.
A voice sounded in his mind: [Host, hurry! Once Lady Moonlight completes her absorption, her power will soar. You will not only be unable to kill her, it will be hard to even approach.]
Yi Tianling replied mentally: [I know, you’ve said it countless times. Stop repeating yourself.]
The voice fell silent, but waited anxiously.
Entering the barrier, Yi Tianling sensed something was off.
“Absorption alone—could it cause such chaos?”
Wasn’t absorption just a wedding night?
Whose wedding night destroyed their own home, turning it to powder?
And that woman standing amid the powdered ruins—wasn’t she the immortal who had guided him earlier?
