Ning Xianyu stood frozen in place, staring vacantly at Wei Nian.

After a moment, she turned and smiled.

"Um... let's go, Master. Didn't you say Grandmaster left a great many things for me? I want to go and have a look."

Wei Nian smiled. "He did indeed leave you many things. Do not be anxious. I shall fetch them for you now."

Ning Xianyu smiled and tugged at his sleeve. "Then let's hurry. I want to see what they are."

She casually shook off Xuanyuan Tunhan's arm and pulled Wei Nian ahead.

The System continued calling out to her, but she did not answer.

Xuanyuan Tunhan thought she merely needed some quiet time to think things through. But soon he noticed that she was walking faster and faster, getting farther and farther away.

Then, without warning, she shot into the sky and sped away in one direction.

The System cried out, "Aaaah! What are you going to do?"

"Are you insane? Run, of course! As far as I can! Once I ditch this body, whoever wants it can have it."

She would have to be mad to stay behind and wait for death.

They were going to use her to mend the heavens—to mend the heavens! It was even more terrifying than offering someone up in a heavenly sacrifice.

He offered no explanation, leaving the three of them staring at one another in confusion.

The System fell silent for a while. In the end, it sighed.

"Very well. I will help you. Who told you to be my host? But I hope you will not regret this someday."
