Nan Zhiyi happily linked her arm with Qin Xuan’s, teasing that she wanted to go grab something to eat because she was feeling a bit tired. Qin Xuan smiled silently as he rubbed his hand.

The two of them headed to the night market to buy some food and wandered aimlessly down the street. Passing by the park, they saw a crowd of people dancing to square dance music. Nan Zhiyi pulled Qin Xuan to sit on a bench, curious, and even fed him a piece of potato.

“Do you think when we’re old, we’ll come and dance square dance too?” Nan Zhiyi watched the elderly men and women dancing happily.

Square dance? Qin Xuan thought. When he’s old, he’d definitely keep playing chess! The old chess king of Yunding at sixty?

Seeing Qin Xuan silent, Nan Zhiyi nudged his shoulder.

“Hmm?” Qin Xuan snapped back to attention, looked at the slightly displeased Nan Zhiyi, and wrapped his arm around her. “When we’re old, we’ll be the most dazzling old folks in the square...”

“Then I have to be the lead dancer!” Nan Zhiyi nestled against Qin Xuan’s shoulder, smiling mischievously.

“Alright!” Qin Xuan replied, biting the potato she offered him again.

They watched the square dance for a while until the elderly dancers dispersed, then carried their food and went home.

Liu Ruoxi and Qin Lin’er were still playing on Qin Xuan’s computer when he and Nan Zhiyi arrived. The moment they entered, they heard the two girls exclaiming from his room.

Qin Xuan and Nan Zhiyi exchanged glances. He saw excitement in Nan Zhiyi’s eyes—did Lin’er get scolded?

Nan Zhiyi, holding a cup of milk tea, dashed faster than Qin Xuan.

Pushing open the door, they saw Liu Ruoxi and Qin Lin’er sitting on stools in front of the computer, seemingly watching something. Liu Ruoxi stood up and blocked the screen as Nan Zhiyi entered.

“What are you two up to?” Nan Zhiyi leaned against the doorframe, sipping her milk tea, curious about their sneaky behavior.

“None of your business!” Liu Ruoxi snapped and was about to get up. Nan Zhiyi quickly retreated.

Turning around, Nan Zhiyi bumped into Qin Xuan and wrapped her arms around his waist. “Qin Xuan~ Can you control Ruoxi? She’s so fierce~”

Damn it! Liu Ruoxi got even angrier seeing this. Was Nan Zhiyi acting?

She stepped forward and slapped Nan Zhiyi twice. “Are you itching for a beating?”

Nan Zhiyi felt a sharp sting on her backside and quickly hid behind Qin Xuan. “Don’t go too far! You’re hitting me again!”

Qin Xuan saw Liu Ruoxi ready to strike again and quickly wrapped his arm around her waist, gently pinching her side. He had accidentally discovered this spot was her weakness; a touch there made Liu Ruoxi weaken instantly.

Nan Zhiyi looked puzzled at Ruoxi collapsing into Qin Xuan’s arms. What was going on?

“You!” Liu Ruoxi flushed, pushed Qin Xuan away, and glared at him angrily.

“What are you two watching?” Qin Xuan glanced at the computer, but Qin Lin’er had already shut it down.

“Just studying,” Qin Lin’er said softly as she stepped out of the room and glanced at Qin Xuan.

Studying? Qin Xuan didn’t believe them for a second but didn’t press further and released the limp Liu Ruoxi.

...

Sitting back down, Qin Xuan turned on the computer, planning to play some games. But as soon as he entered the game, he noticed something was off. Why was the computer so laggy today?

He searched the computer and found the C drive had turned red...

Clearly, this was a prank by Liu Ruoxi and Qin Lin’er! What kind of junk were they downloading?

Wrapped in a bath towel, Liu Ruoxi entered the room and saw Qin Xuan looking at her helplessly.

“Wh-what’s wrong?”

“Why are you downloading so many ‘study materials’?” Qin Xuan rested his head on his hand, looking at her and raising his eyebrows.

“Ah!” Liu Ruoxi froze. “You saw it...”

Qin Xuan pointed at the red C drive on the screen and waved at her.

“It was Lin’er’s curiosity! She insisted on dragging me along to watch,” Liu Ruoxi ruthlessly betrayed Qin Lin’er.

Holding Liu Ruoxi on his lap, Qin Xuan pinched her nose.

“You guys should have downloaded it somewhere else,” Qin Xuan sighed, creating a new partition and moving all those ‘study materials’ there.

“Alright, from now on, make sure you download everything here.”

Seeing Qin Xuan’s serious expression, Liu Ruoxi couldn’t help but plant a kiss on his lips.

“By the way, why are you still looking at this stuff? You’ve got me, why still need to study?” Qin Xuan was a little annoyed thinking about it. He picked her up and tossed her onto the bed, then switched off the lights, leaving only the computer screen glowing.

Qin Lin’er was lying on the bed, looking at the newly added books in her digital bookshelf...

She heard a familiar voice. “Ruoxi! You promised to give me a chance! Is this the chance you’re giving me?”

The more she listened, the harder it was to bear. Not long after, Qin Lin’er also turned off her room light.

...

The next evening, only Qin Xuan and Nan Zhiyi were home. Nan Zhiyi sat on the bed watching Qin Xuan play games, a hint of annoyance on her face. Such a good opportunity—why didn’t he get the hint?

“Qin Xuan~” Nan Zhiyi hooked one leg over his chair. “It’s been a week since we got together, and you haven’t shown any sign?”

Qin Xuan turned and saw her lovely foot on the chair, couldn’t help but sniff it—no smell at all! On a whim, he kissed it.

“Eh!” Nan Zhiyi quickly pulled her foot back. Luckily, she had washed it clean today! Still, she grabbed a tissue to wipe it, thinking, “So you really have this habit!”

“No kissing me today! Go kiss Ruoxi!” Nan Zhiyi looked at Qin Xuan awkwardly.

“What? You even dislike your own foot?” Qin Xuan teased seeing her expression.

Nan Zhiyi was speechless. After a moment, she asked, “What kind of smell?”

“You’ll know if you kiss it yourself,” Qin Xuan said, turning back to his game casually.

“Forget it, you try it then,” Nan Zhiyi lay on the bed and touched a small box in her pocket.

After a while, seeing Qin Xuan still playing games, Nan Zhiyi grew frustrated.

She pulled out the small box and tossed it beside Qin Xuan. “Qin Xuan~ How do you use this?”

Qin Xuan looked at the familiar object in his hand and glanced awkwardly at Nan Zhiyi.

“You’re not ready to use this yet.”

Nan Zhiyi sat up quickly. “What do you mean I’m not ready? Ruoxi can use it, but I can’t?”

Feeling defiant, Nan Zhiyi grabbed a pillow and threw it at him.

“Stop, stop,” Qin Xuan caught the pillow with a helpless smile, quickly explaining, “That’s not what I meant!”

“Then what do you mean...” Nan Zhiyi was feeling especially aggrieved.

Qin Xuan saw her on the verge of tears, got up, sat beside her, wrapped his arm around her waist, and whispered gently in her ear, “Only a week and you’re already anxious?”

“Ah?” Nan Zhiyi had been turning her head away, unwilling to look at him, but his words made her pause. This made her seem like something else entirely...

“I just want to...” Nan Zhiyi’s little ears flushed visibly red.

Qin Xuan thought for a moment, then looked at the girl before him and said, “I’ll help you.”

Soon after, Qin Xuan sat back down and resumed playing games, with Nan Zhiyi leaning against him, feeling a little tired.

A damp towel lay beside the bed. Looking at it, Nan Zhiyi felt a bit embarrassed and couldn’t help herself...
