Chapter 100: Sister Xi... Can You Give Me a Chance?

Qin Xuan returned to the room and found Liu Ruoxi still asleep. He gently rubbed her small face, but Liu Ruoxi frowned, swatting away Qin Xuan’s playful hand. She turned over, leaving her back to him. Seeing this, Qin Xuan reached out and lightly tapped her bottom.
“Annoying...” Liu Ruoxi shivered instinctively, then sat up and looked at Qin Xuan with a hint of grievance.
Qin Xuan was amused by her innocent expression.
“Come on, the noodles are ready!”
“I’m not eating! I’m exhausted and want to sleep!” After saying this, Liu Ruoxi flopped back onto the bed.
Qin Xuan thought: It’s all because you wanted to...
“Get up!” Qin Xuan stepped forward, scooped her up, and carried her out the door. Liu Ruoxi quickly wrapped her arms around his neck.
After placing her on a chair, Liu Ruoxi stared at the egg noodles before her—two eggs?! She glanced at the others’ bowls; hers was the only one with two eggs. She smiled contentedly at Qin Xuan.
“I haven’t rinsed my mouth yet,” Liu Ruoxi licked her lips and looked at Qin Xuan expectantly.
“Why are you getting lazier?” Qin Xuan said helplessly.
Puffing out her cheeks, Liu Ruoxi said, “Just say whether you’ll carry me or not!”
“Carry, carry, carry!” Qin Xuan looked at Liu Ruoxi, who had her arms wide open, and let her hug his neck.
Dragging Liu Ruoxi to the bathroom, he saw Nan Zhiyi still freshening up. Nan Zhiyi, rinsing her mouth, turned and saw their goofy appearance, showing a look of disdain.
“So you don’t need my help anymore, right?” Qin Xuan put Liu Ruoxi down and picked up her toothbrush, squeezing on some toothpaste.
Liu Ruoxi snatched the toothbrush, glanced at Nan Zhiyi beside her, and said, “No way, I don’t want you messing up with too much force!”
Nan Zhiyi thought: That sounded weird... Wait, are they teasing again?!
After they finished freshening up and returned to the table, Qin Xuan had already eaten half a bowl of noodles.
Nan Zhiyi looked through her bowl—why was there only one fried egg? She glanced at Liu Ruoxi, who was savoring two eggs like they were delicious...
She glanced at Qin Lin’er’s bowl; last night she had stayed up with her until 2 a.m., so what if she only gets one fried egg?
Sure enough, Qin Lin’er came out and sat at the table, scratching her head in confusion as she looked at the noodles-only bowl before her and then at Qin Xuan.
Qin Xuan was stunned by the look she gave him. Seeing her stare, he helplessly picked up the fried egg from his bowl—untouched—and passed it to her.
“Hehe, thanks, big brother~” Qin Lin’er happily took a bite.

Nan Zhiyi let go of the fried egg in her mouth, thinking it wasn’t worth eating.
But seeing Qin Xuan only eating noodles, she flipped over her own fried egg from underneath the noodles and offered it to him.
“Huh?” Qin Xuan awkwardly picked up the fried egg from his bowl and took a bite. If he didn’t eat it now, who knew what tricks they would pull next.
In the strange atmosphere, they finished breakfast. The group tidied up and headed out to class.
When Nan Zhiyi parted ways with them at the intersection, she took advantage of the moment when no one was around and kissed Qin Xuan on the cheek, making Qin Lin’er feel a pang of jealousy—with time, I’ll get you...
Unexpectedly, as Nan Zhiyi turned away, she saw the director standing behind her—the ex-girlfriend of Qin Xuan’s uncle.
“Good morning, Teacher Li!”
“Hmm, Nan Zhiyi, why aren’t you in class? What are you doing here?” Director Li, wearing black-rimmed glasses and still in her familiar teacher’s uniform, holding several books, asked curiously as she noticed Nan Zhiyi lingering about. She had always admired Nan Zhiyi.
“I’m looking for my boyfriend,” Nan Zhiyi replied shyly with her head lowered.
“Huh?” Nan Zhiyi has a boyfriend? Director Li thought of the one she broke up with during the New Year and felt a sudden surge of anger. So what if he’s a bit better-looking and healthier... she still couldn’t let him go!
“All right, all right, go to class, you’re going to be late,” Director Li waved her hand, urging Nan Zhiyi.
Nan Zhiyi said goodbye and left, still thinking that if Teacher Li knew her boyfriend was Qin Xuan’s uncle, Qin Xuan would be doomed.
Meanwhile, Qin Xuan took Liu Ruoxi and Qin Lin’er to their classroom. Qin Lin’er leaned against Qin Xuan’s shoulder, looking sleepy—last night’s fun had gone on a bit too late. But at least she had found a breakthrough. Sister Ruoxi... can I have a chance?
Unfortunately, Liu Ruoxi was too engrossed in her phone to notice Qin Lin’er’s glances.
After a while, Qin Lin’er let go of Qin Xuan’s arm and sat on the other side of Liu Ruoxi. Liu Ruoxi quickly locked her phone, as if afraid Qin Lin’er would see it.
Qin Lin’er looked at her curiously but said nothing.
Qin Xuan watched as the two whispered quietly, occasionally sneaking a glance at him, making him feel a bit guilty.
When the teacher entered the classroom, they stopped talking and started texting instead. Qin Xuan rarely saw them like this, so are you two planning something again?
At noon, Liu Ruoxi and Qin Lin’er mysteriously said they had something to do and left Qin Xuan with Nan Zhiyi.
Nan Zhiyi didn’t hesitate to link arms with Qin Xuan as they headed to the cafeteria.
“Zhiyi, do you know where they went?” Qin Xuan asked, eating the beef Nan Zhiyi shared from her plate, while she was left with only potatoes...
“No idea,” Nan Zhiyi shook her head, puzzled. Liu Ruoxi didn’t tell her everything.
“Want some ribs? Too greasy, I don’t want them,” Nan Zhiyi pointed to the sweet and sour pork ribs on her plate and asked Qin Xuan.

“Eat yours then. You gave me everything; what are you going to eat?” Qin Xuan was puzzled by Nan Zhiyi’s behavior.
“This is enough for me,” Nan Zhiyi said, picking a carrot from Qin Xuan’s plate and putting it in her mouth, smiling at him.
Qin Xuan looked at his plate, which was nearly heaped with food, and sighed. Originally, he had both meat and vegetables, but now his plate was almost all meat. He didn’t know what to say.
Suddenly, Nan Zhiyi remembered something. “After lunch, I’ll take you somewhere!”
“Okay.”
After the meal, Nan Zhiyi held Qin Xuan’s hand as they strolled around the campus.
“Did you know? I’ve always wanted a chance to walk around campus with you alone, but never had the chance before,” Nan Zhiyi kissed Qin Xuan on the cheek. “Now I finally do!”
“I think you’ve revealed your true self,” Qin Xuan smiled at Nan Zhiyi, who was pursing her lips. “I suspected something was off when I saw your posts!”
“No way! Those were all written for you!” Nan Zhiyi thought about the playful words in her social media posts—only Qin Xuan saw that side of her.
Qin Xuan had expected this all along. After all, Nan Zhiyi appeared as a well-behaved girl to others, but showed her other side only to him...
Nan Zhiyi led Qin Xuan to an old building, one of the oldest places on campus, where hardly anyone was around.
“We’re here,” she said, linking arms with Qin Xuan as they went up to the third floor and opened a door.
“What is this?” Qin Xuan looked around curiously. He had thought it was just a small room, but upon entering, he saw it was connected throughout this wing.
Neat bookshelves lined the room, filled with various books, all clean and well-maintained as if someone regularly tidied the place, though the books seemed quite old.
“This used to be a library, just an old one,” Nan Zhiyi said, pulling Qin Xuan to sit by the window, which overlooked the campus lake.
“After the new library was built, few students came here anymore, since most of these books are outdated,” Qin Xuan quietly observed the surroundings.
“My grandmother used to teach at this school, so I loved coming here as a child,” Nan Zhiyi said nostalgically, recalling how her grandmother would prepare lessons by the window while she caused mischief nearby.
After her grandmother passed away, she had no one to accompany her here—until now, when she finally found someone to visit the old library with her... It felt so good.
